Beautiful every season, but especially during late summer during the lotus bloom. There has been some bad storm damage to some parts of boardwalk - hopefully it gets fixed soon so people can continue to enjoy this beautiful place

Walking over and through a wetland is a unique experience for anyone who loves nature. We saw so many so many plants and critters. It was great! Peaceful and quiet. I expected mosquitoes, but there were none.

One of my favorite places to enjoy nature when I don’t want to make the jaunt to Turkey Run or Forest Glenn. The observation tower gives you a beautiful elevated view of the area and lake vermilion. Some of the dock sections needs reissues though.

Heron Park is a nice little wildlife preserve with an observation tower, a boardwalk, and a pavilion. You will see plenty of wildlife including herons, swans, geese, and ducks. Sometimes if you are lucky, you will see the bald eagles that live nearby.

Wetlands Boardwalk is a beautiful and well maintained place to get in touch the original flora and fauna for this part of Illinois. The only suggestion I have would be better control of stinging insects, like yellow jackets and wasps.

It is a great way to get back to nature. However the ramp needs fixed. It goes up in the air at a dangerous angle.

Beautiful. Bridge walkway is nice. Has some lookout spots with benches.
