Very great place to enjoy the nature. Places are clean and organized, enjoying the lake and the short trail with alot of birds around. The river next to it are amazing for kayaking during summer

It's a very clean, quiet, peaceful, relaxing and absolutely beautiful place! There are several benches and an area with picnic tables so there's plenty of places to sit, relax and enjoy the gorgeous surrounding scenery. There is also a wheelchair accessible tower that you can go up and get a better view of the lake and all the amazing creatures living in and around the lake. Very well kept up and taken care of also.

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to this park! The tower and (especially) the boardwalk allow you to really immerse yourself in the natural environment of this wetland. For someone with very limited mobility, it was an extremely nice (and unexpected) surprise to find that the boardwalk and the first elevated level of the tower were both easily accessible while using my wheelchair! THANK YOU!

What a beautiful park. Nature is on full display here, beautiful birds, picnic tables and happy trails.

This place is unbelievable there's a viewing Tower and a boardwalk that goes through the wetlands with an abundance of wildlife there's a washroom here there's also a shelter with a bunch of picnic tables and a little hang out area........... this place is a must see

There is always something interesting to find along the boardwalk. The boardwalk view is especially handy when looking for shorebirds and other wetland birds that are hard to see from shorelines.

Did you know, every part of the cat tail plant is edible? How odd. If you're starving in Danville, come here. Plenty to snack on with some homies to break bread with, as well🪲🐢🐛🐍

So glad this is surrounded by a Mire! People drained the Kankakee Swamp, which no one seems to know about anymore. It was larger than the Everglades! In the 19th Century there was an irrational fear of Marshlands causing disease and being a worthless land commodity, since Everything has to be a Commodity, which is sad in and of itself. Marshlands are Extremely Valuable to the surrounding Ecosystem and the Flora and Fauna that need them for survival. They are special habitats that deserve to be protected. I applaud VCCD!

It has a watch tower you can climb up and overlook the park. The trail wasn't too long on either side.

Beautiful scenery! 100% chance of seeing wildlife. All kinds of critters and rare birds to look at.

We always enjoy going for walks here. The boardwalk is fun for families, and accessible with stroller, walker, or wheelchair. It's wonderful to see it in different times of day or different seasons. We also enjoy going on the grass mowed trail that is across the road. Many people don't know about the trail over there!

Adore this spot. Birdwatching galore. So peaceful. Dreamy on a foggy day, sunset is just beautiful.

Amazingly beautiful little walk through the bog. Easy access boardwalk, great scenery and wildlife. Boardwalk over bog on south side of the main road, grass trails on north side. Altogether, good for maybe 30-60 mins of walking time, dependant on speed. A really cool observation tower on the south side with a fantastic view.

My girl took me to his park. I absolutely loved it! They have a lot of natural wildlife! We even saw a turtle swimming in the algae waters. They even have benches to sit on to take in all the sites of nature. I would highly recommend this park to others!

Nice park. There's a trail on both sides of the street. The trail on the tower side turns to a boardwalk over the swamp. Great views. Lots of wild life to view. The tower is cool to climb in to look around.

This is definitely a place to go to see unusual birds in sprung and fall. We saw a huge flick of pelicans overhead this spring, which entertained us with their acrobatic stunts. Eagles can usually be seen looking for lunch, while water birds paddle in the waterways. Take your binoculars and check out the boardwalk overhanging the water.

The views are beautiful and there are lots of animals to see.Little kids love it just make sure you watch them because they can slide through the railings.
