Best food In Mauston, hands down! We could tell after one bite this place was definitely deserving a five star review. Featured drinks were unique and food was hitting every perfect spot on our taste buds. It was pizza and a burger but you would think it was fine dining for sure. We never knew a “from scratch” kitchen could make such magic happen in our mouths!! Fresh ingredients, perfectly cooked. We will definitely be back and we are bringing our friends. Top secret tidbit… the chef was featured in a BON APPÉTIT competition. Try it. Gluten free is available.

Everyone should eat at State Street Tap Bar & Restaurant in Mauston, WI. In truth, my wife is a harsh critic who is somewhat picky when it comes to food. But she loved the Ahi Tuna Tacos and I thought the Bleu Bison was great!! I highly recommend this place!! Make sure to get couple pints of Spotted Cow too!!! These are some of the best treats in Wisconsin!

We were in Mauston for a baseball tournament over the weekend. I always research restaurants before deciding where to go. This GEM was spot on! Staff is amazingly friendly and efficient, and food was delicious. The place was packed, and they did not miss a beat in taking care of everyone. The food is not your average “bar” food. UNBELIEVABLE. We stopped on Friday night (husband had the fish fry and I had Ahi Tuna tacos), and it was so good, we returned on Saturday night (and the staff remembered us!). My husband was super impressed with the hamburger (look at the photo!) and I had the pork tacos. Highly recommend!

Went on a sat at noon. Was moderately busy and the 1 server made time for everyone. Great service and the burgers and pizzas are excellent.

The owner is very pleasant and after coming in only 3 times, once a week on a Wednesday, her remembered me from previous week.. kinda like cheers. Lol. And the Bacon cheeseburger is phenomenonal ! Would definitely recommend! The Plain Jane with fried onions and pickles...damn...

This is the place to stop. Thank you guys so much! We have never been to town, we were shed hunting in the area and stopped by before a comedy show down the road. This bar was amazing. The food was so much better than I have had at most restaurants! We had spinach dip, pizza and drinks. The drinks are not weak, the food is made as if you are in a sit down restaurant, the employees are so kind and on top of things we loved it.

Pork Tacos were great. Large portion- great flavor! Tender melt was good. Service is excellent! Loved the energy of the the place. Would come back!

We were in town for a softball tournament and looked up local eateries. This popped up with good reviews so we tried it and it didn't disappoint. While there wasn't a large menu, the food was delicious. The staff was very friendly and even the other customers were very friendly as one couple offered to sit at the bar so that out family of 5 could sit at the table.

We had lunch on a Saturday. Check out the menu! This is not your typical bar food. As far as a beverage, where else can you find a cranberry old fashioned? The food, drinks, and service was great.

My husband, son and I ate dinner here on Friday night. We were greeted immediately by the young gentleman (unfortunately did not get his name) behind the bar. He came out from behind the bar and sat us at a table. He immediately took our drink orders. He was friendly, conscientious, and attentive the entire dinner. The food was very tasty as well. What a delightful gem we found in Mauston!!

We are traveling and found this gem. I love breaded mushrooms and are the best. The burger was awesome. Small place but, awesome!

Could not recommend this place more!! Drinks were amazing!!(best old fashioned in the driftless) don’t waste your time at gravity box brewing, walk down the street to a real bar!!

Absolutely awesome fish fry and the corn fritters were out of this world. And for dessert the chocolate chip cookie with ice cream was another hit for me.
Service and staff were nice and on top of there game.
One of the reasons I went was because I seen a bad review on Facebook and you could tell the review was bogus so had to go check it out for myself.

can’t say enough great things about State Street Tap! The employees made this place hands down the best stop on our trip! The two men bar tending were unreal. The food was also fabulous! Please make this one of your stops when traveling through WI.

I have tried nearly everything on this menu, and this is not typical bar food. Hamburgers cooked to your liking, chicken wraps are amazing and the dinner specials are always a suprize as they change it up weekly. Hands down the best burgers around definitely recommend trying the food!

We were driving through Mauston and searching for a spot to grab something to eat and get a beer. Went on a hunch and stopped at State Street Tap. We lucked out. This place was a diamond in the rough. Very unassuming from the outside, we agreed to just grab a beer and leave if it wasn't our scene. After sitting down, we immediately felt comfortable and started looking at the menu. The menu had a surprising amount of diversity - an array of burgers, salad, sandwiches, pizza, etc. This didn't seem like your ordinary, out-of-the-prepackaged-food-bag kinda place. They had creative options. We ordered beers from Baraboo and burger/chicken sandwich. It was great! We had three micro brews, a burger, chicken sandwich with sides and it was about $40 all-in. Great food, great deal. We were very impressed of our luck stopping here - we'll definitely be back!!

Great local bar in Wisconsin to stop at our way home from Chicago. A bit off the highway, but worth a stop. Fast and friendly service. The Buffalo burger was cooked perfectly and the handcut fries were perfectly seasoned and crispy. Some arcade games and bar seating and high top tables.
