We came in early May to hike the Trail and after stop in here to check out the museum. We were lucky that the owner just happen to be there waiting on a tour bus so he let us check it out. A very nice museum with lots of history on the area. Thank you for the Certificate saying we made it to the top.

We were at the highly recommended Hitching Post Lodging - Ranch of Jane and Bob Apple and of course Jane recommended us to visit this wonderful little museum. Since we were quite interested, Jane made an appointment for us personally directly with the museum boss Dewey. Great great. So lucky. This to our prehistory.

Unaccompanied, the museum can be viewed in perhaps 30-45 minutes. Of course you can look longer. Depending on your interest.
But when Dewey leads you through the museum, two hours are actually too short! It was extremely interesting to listen to his stories about the place Kenton, the No-Mens-Land and the explanations about the exhibits and the different collections (!!).
In the process, we had a splendid time! Dewey is quite a fine person who, with mischievousness and great knowledge, was able to inspire us about the museum and the stories. We also laughed a lot together :).
Additional note: Well he was also a teacher before his retirement, which actually then becomes clear and explains his enthusiasm to his museum and life, which he could convey and pass on to us in the best way. Certainly he was the favorite teacher for many students, I thing for shure.
I guess the trick is to make history come alive.

So our recommendation, if possible: private tour of Dewey! and bring time! Great fun!
So on this way a really big thank you to Dewey for a really great afternoon. And to Jane for your recommendation. Thank you :)

The museum is usually closed this time of year, but the curator lives across the street, if you stop he'll come over and open it for you to tour. Cool little museum of the area with artifacts from dinosaur fossils to settler tools and everything in between. A nice little jewel out in no-man's land.

Amazing little find. Dewey is the nicest and most knowledgeable host. I had a great time looking at and learning about everything in there and the local history. I will definitely return. Thank you!

Fantastic hidden gem up in the panhandle. The man who runs it took us all around and gave us some fun history on the area and Oklahoma. Highly recommend anyone going there and if you have the opportunity for a school field trip -GO!

Me and my boyfriend visited this place on a Sunday and enjoyed every bit of it. The man that was running the museum had so much information to share I could have listened for hours. Sadly we had to leave the town by a certain time for out next destination, but I have a feeling we'll be back to visit.

Really amazing! The man who runs the museum was very knowledgeable and gave us cool facts about the history of the items and the land. Unfortunately we didn’t look at everything because it was our last day here and had things planned for the evening, but we will be back! The only drawback is that every time we have gone there are “trump” signs and “LGB” signs, which is highly disappointing, uneducated, and makes us cringe every time
