My only experience with the Isleta Tribal Police is when I had stopped to get gas. There was a fellow being stopped by a female and a male officer. The female officer was the prettiest police officer I have ever seen :) Wow!!

Sending out my thanks to Sgt. H. Powers for the quick, efficient, and professional response to my theft call. Him and two other professional and courteous officers responded and really showed what Law Enforcement is all about. Thank y’all so much and thank you for your service.

I called for an ambulance to come, there was absolutely NO need for 3 units to show up. No reason whatsoever. And they’re over here ordering their way trying to find out who’s inside the house. Quite rude. Emts and dispatch were nice though. IPD is Indeed racist and nosey as heck. The tall white dude (I believe it was Keith) was the main issue. Is this how we treat our native people? So much for “protect and serve)This whole year we’ve had issues with IPD. Talk about harassment..

Disrespectful, racist, and flat out a dick! Walks upon me in a unmarked uniform, but driving the patrol car, never identified himself, belittled me for trespassing. Nothing was fenced off, but the dam was and other portable near it, had a sign said no swimming and drinking alcohol, but it also said no fishing to non Indian, but a few yards a way another sign says” restricted” no fishing, no swimming and no alcohol? I didn’t have fishing equipment, wasn’t soaked and didn’t consume alcohol, I been walking the Rio Grande 8 years that was my first time there, just passing through from job interview in Los Lunas. I’m listed on the Navajo Indian Census roll of the Navajo Tribe, and the Document to show it. I respect men and women in law enforcement and what they do, but for that officers to abuse his power is uncalled for.

I got pulled over for speeding when I was under the sped limit. Now I got to take time out of my day to go and get proof a of discovery . Same cop has pulled over quite a few people with the same story doing 60 in a 50 when they were under the speed limit .

My son got arrested recently, the male officer was unnecessarily rough. My son is half black...hmmm, maybe a call to the news would be warranted? I just don't understand ignorance and incompetence. All of my "instances" with Isleta police department have been negative.
