I was out there this this week for a late season rifle hunt, and even though we did not get an elk we had a blast. We had a bad winter storm blow in the morning we got there. In truly believe that was the only reason for being unsuccessful. Jeremy was my guide, the hunting was tough but he made it fun. The housing was clean and nice the food was amazing, Stella knows how to cook! All the guides there were fun to be around, I will be going back! The only complaint was the 2 feet of snow we got the morning we arrived in town, but they can’t help that and did everything they could to get us an opportunity. Thanks fellas see you soon!

This was my 3rd year hunting with Sierra Blanca Outfitters, and it won’t be my last. Peter and the guides know every inch of the terrain and are passionate about getting you a quality, successful hunt. They cater the hunt to your requests and if successful, they handle the field dressing and pack out if needed. There is a commercial freezer at the lodge to store your meat until you are ready to depart. Back at the camp, it’s a family atmosphere where everyone shares their hunting stories from their hunt. The “lodge” is comfortable and meals are provided at night with a sit down dinner with other hunters and guides.

Early January cow hunt with Jeremy this year. I contacted Jeremy and with some luck and cancelations from other hunters I was able to get over and hunt with SBO. It was cold and lots of snow on the ground. Jeremy, Peter, and the SBO team pulled out all the stops and did everything possible to ensure all hunters had opportunities at filling permits. Through tough elements, hard work and team work I was lucky enough to harvest a cow. Jeremy, Isiah, Peter, Victor, and team all put in the work to help get the cow off the mountain. We quickly got her skinned and cooling. This team makes their living in multiple facets and guiding is their cornerstone. They earn it. I would highly recommend this team. Ask questions, seek guidance, listen to the response and you will increase your chances of harvest. As always great food, and great environment. I will be back hunting with SBO....it's hunting with friends. Thanks Jeremy and hope to do again next year.

Awesome experience Turkey hunting with the guys. Great lodge stocked with everything you would need, put myself and the other hunter on birds on the first day, great calling and execution. Definitely going to pay these guys another visit!

Sierra Blanca Outfitters is the real deal! My hunt was the first rifle season on public land and 3/3 of us filled our tags! Peter and Jeremy had put in the work before we arrived and it showed they knew where the bulls hung out. Their work ethic and knowledge was outstanding getting us all multiple shot opportunities. We packed out neatly and clean getting as much meat as we could without waste. The rest of Peter's guides rushed to help pack out any elk taken that week to get it to the large walk-in cooler as fast as possible.
The food was also very tasty with snacks/drinks always stocked up. Lodging was nice and clean with a good view. I am very satisfied with everyone I met and my experience. I would highly recomend Sierra Blanca Outfitters for a great hunt and can't wait to apply again this year!

Just returned from an early rifle hunt with Sierra Blanca Outfitters....I took my 12 year old daughter along for the experience and we both had a great time. We hunted a relative new area only hunted for the past 2 years to my knowledge and it has produced some great success. We arrive late afternoon the day before my hunt began and were given free reign of the lodge. Peters Aunt Stella was tasked with keeping everyone fed and she did a great job. Peter came and talked with us and got us set on time to be ready and told us about his scouting trip the day before. We were lucky to have 2 guides take us out the first morning and we left at 4 am for the Unit we were hunting which was a bit of a drive. We got to visit and tell tall stories on the ride though and visiting with Peter and Norman Sr. was a pleasure........we covered a lot of ground that morning but didn't see any of the Bulls Peter had seen in the area the day before. Both guides worked at trying to Bugle and were excited to be able to show us the experience of the bugling Bulls, but it just wasn't happening yet. We made it back for breakfast/Lunch around Noon and decided to head back around 4pm. The ride again was a pleasure as we all got to tell some more tall stories of prior hunts and my daughter got quite the education on many topics. Its rained like crazy the whole way there though and had many of the roads too treacherous to travel on. I totally figured we would use this evening for scouting areas for the next days hunts as the weather was due to break up soon. And just as fast as it started raining it slowed then stopped and way off in the distance these guys spotted a couple of nice Bulls and the magic started. They were out of position for us to access them, but Peter and I hustled out into an area we thought they might appear in. Once again we spotted them, but again they were not in a good position for our needs. Peter threw out a couple of cow calls and it got their attention. I got set-up where I was hopeful they would come into my view at an area around 200yards away and after some patience and more great work by Peter and his cow calling he had them moving our direction. The Wind was not working in our favor and I was sure it was going to let them sense I was there before I got the opening, but the first Bull just made it halfway into a clearing and I had my scope on him immediately. He stopped and looked right at me, but it was at that time too LATE for him, and just like that on day 1 of my hunt my tag was filled with a nice 5x5 Bull......This was my 2nd time hunting with Peter and the first time was a much tougher late season hunt, but I did manage to fill my tag on the last day of my 5 day hunt with about 30 minutes of daylight left. So Although nothing is guaranteed I know from experience these guys put in the WORK and the RESULTS SHOW IT. We will be going back....Next time I will have a better plan as with the meat in my ice chests I had to rush home to get it to the processor. Next time I'm taking a refrigerator over so I can keep him cool and hang around the extra few days to enjoy the scenery and the home cooking. I know this post is long, but we just got home last night and its fresh on my mind. I know of 3 hunters in the Lodge while we were there. 1 got his Elk with a Bow the day we arrived....We got ours the next day with Rifle and another got his yesterday while we were driving home another Bow Hunter....I would say they have a pretty sporty percentage working so far this season. My only complaint is now I am back home and will be going back to WORK early......Thanks ALOT Peter and Norman for cutting my vacation short!

A great deal can be said about Sierra Blanca, all of it would extremely positive, and none of it can fully explain the experience. My wife and I took our first elk hunt with the =m this year.

Peter is a top notch mountain hunter, guide, and business owner. He will not sell you a bill of goods; we hunted after this years historic fire and he was honest about the uncertainty of the herd and the habitat. All the while he was extremely encouraging and motivating about the possibility of good bulls if we hunted hard. He gave a ton of helpful advice on weapon and gear selection. Ask him and he is happy to help.

Jeremy, our guide, was one of the most personable and honorable men I have had the chance to share the woods with. We quickly became friends and shared more than just the time in the woods. He was always willing to teach and share his knowledge of elk and his mountain home.

The rest of the crew: Victor (the meat man) Phillip, Eugene, and Mrs. Stella (camp Mom and chef) were PHENOMENAL. They are light hearted, kind, generous, hospitable, and FUNNY. If your legs don't get sore from your haul out, your abs will be from all the laughing you will do in camp.

This will be one of the best bargains you will find. Their prices beat most outfitters we researched, but the value of this hunt is 10x what you will pay! Our camp went 5/7 and I was blessed to bring a 300+ class bull home with me!

YOU WANT TO HUNT WITH THESE GUYS...YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!!!!

Sierra Blanca just provided me with the absolute hunt of a lifetime and helped fulfil a five-year dream to harvest a bull elk. We were on elk 6 of the 9 sessions we hunted and I was put into position to have 5 shot opportunity’s – capitalizing on the last. Jeremy and Peter called in a good bull to 18 yards to cap what was an amazing experience. They transported me to and from the airport, coordinated the transport of my meat to a processor and my trophy to a taxidermist. All the meals were well made with large portions (I eat like a horse). We utilized a multitude of hunting methods from still hunting, calling and spot and stalk – whatever the situation warranted. Having been mislead and extremely let down by other outfitters over the years I can truly appreciate a great guide that’s as committed to helping you punch your tag as you are. I will be hunting with them every year that my knees allow it.

What a great hunting experience! Not only did my buddy and I tag out on our first bulls we also had a great time doing it! Peter and his staff worked their tails off to make sure we had the best experience we could. His mom and aunt kept us fed with amazing meals as well! We can't wait to go back!

Over the last week my Dad, friend, and I had the pleasure of going on an elk hunt with Sierra Blanca Outfitters. From the beginning they showed a plethora of elk knowledge and some tips and tricks to help make our hunt successful, and successful we were. We were able to go 3/3 and all harvested 6x6s. Two of which were our first elk ever! Obviously, it’s hunting so nothing is ever guaranteed but I can tell you the guides will work their butts of to put you on an elk. It’s always nerve-racking investing your hard earned money into people you have never met but I can assure you it’s worth every penny. The atmosphere and food at camp was also great and full of laughs. I would highly recommend Sierra Blanca Outfitters and plan to go back in the near future.

I had previously hunted prairie dogs with Sierra Blanca and had a great time. So when one of my friends and I decided to try for mule deer we agreed to give Peter and his team another visit. We were clear with our expectations and the Sierra Blanca team met those for us. There were four in our group. Two of us tagged out within the first few hours thanks to Robert 'THE BEAST'. Robert should drive in Nascar in the offseason. One of the other guys got a nice buck before we left with the assistance of Gene and a guide in training. Didn't catch his name but he was a handsome fellow. Thanks to Peter, Victor, Robert, Gene, Peter's mom, and our cook. See you when we decide to try for elk.

Sierra Blanca Outfitters was by far one of the best hunting experiences I have ever had. From the moment we arrived they treated us like family. The food was authentic and amazing. The Guides were very professional and fun. They knew exactly how to get on the Bulls as I harvested a beauty! The experience was one of a kind and we already booked next season and can’t wait to do it again. Peter and the Boys...thank you for an epic time!

I hunted with Peter about twelves years ago. My ten year old son and I both got bulls. The hunting was tough and Pete worked his tail off to find elk. We didn't get to see a lot of elk on that trip but it was a hunt of a lifetime. We were treated like family by everyone in the area. It was a real fair chase hunt and was physically demanding. The food was outstanding. The following year we went back and hunted antelope. Another great experience for an eleven year old. Antelope were everywhere. Other hunters, guides and the property owners pitched in to ensure a kid got to harvest an animal. Once again the entire area was just fantastic and we were treated like neighbors. I just booked another hunt with Peter.

We had an awesome time hunting with guides Carlos and Robert and we even killed our very first bulls! They worked hard to find us elk even when the weather did not cooperate. They were all pleasant to be around as well. Make sure Marcos is cooking for you, his food is awesome! I would definitely recommend this place!

We had a great hunt! Went for our first Elk hunt and wasn't let down. We came for the second rifle season, and I wished we would have come sooner (the conditions were hot and dry) With that being said, Jeremy and Pete put us in position to kill Bulls! There were 3 in my party and we went 2 for 3 with the chance to go 3 for 3, but my son missed a nice bull. The lodging and hospitality were great, and the food was the best! I would suggest this place to anyone! Can't wait to go back!

I did a 2 day prairie dog hunt with Sierra Blanca Outfitters on 6/6 and 6/7. What I great time I had with Pete and his guides. We hunted with Ed in the morning and afternoon on both days with plenty of dogs to shoot at distances from 150 to 550 yds. Pete is top notch and goes out of his way to ensure that his hunters are well taken care of. The lodging is comfortable and clean, and Pete's mom is an excellent cook. All in all our hunting group enjoyed our stay and had a great time. I will definitely be back soon!

Sierra Blanca thank you for a great New Mexico elk hunting experience. All the small details of the hunt were addressed. Food and lodging top notch, with a family flair that had me feeling comfortable and ready for the hunt each day. Phillip was an excellent guide. His knowledge of the area and dedication to detail combined with experience was fantastic. All in all a great hunt and a successful hunt as well. Peter Romero has a top notch outfit. Extremely Satisfied!

In one word: WOW!

When you hunt with this crew you are a part of their family. These men (and women) meet you on the front porch with a smile and an embrace. From that point forward you are one of them!

Peter is an incredible guide and lead man. His knowledge of the area, of elk, deer, prairie dogs, and sheep is almost mind boggling. Sitting at the dinner table each night and listening to talk about the day, the season, and past hunts is like sitting at your papa's feet and listening to stories. Such a great story teller and incredible amount wisdom.

Jeremy was the guide assigned to my husband and I...if you can request him. He will forever be a friend to me and my husband, and that is something you can't put a price on nor did we expect. Hunting with Jeremy was like meeting up with a life long hunting buddy to chase elk.

Mrs. Stella's food was off the charts.The best meals are the authentic latino foods with as much chilis as you can ask for.

And finally Victor...he makes the camp! Trust me when I say you will have fun hunting with SBO; you are also likely to take a trophy of a lifetime...we went home with a 300+ heard bull!

Don't wait; pull the trigger and book em!

Overall an awesome experience! Pete was great with all the logistics of the hunt and getting everything in order prior to arrival. The dog handlers were excellent and their rig and set up was great. Everyone knew their roles and what to do each step of the way. This was not shooting fish out of a barrel it was a legit hunt for real hunters who not only enjoy the thrill of dogs and watching them work as a team. I am already planning an elk hunt next season with them and will probably end up taking the whole menu as years go by.

This is what i want to say .I f you are looking for4 star dining and accommodations stay home. This not the place for you if you want a chance to kill an elk hang out with great people and get to know knowledgeable guides ......Then go all in don't let appearances fool you These guys (guides) know there elk herd

5 got bulls ...This was my first hunt ever and i was not prepared .this is not walk and a pick an ELK you actually have to hunt for them. I would not trade the experience for the world .

Warning anyone reads a negative comment about Sierra Blanca Outfitters ,I guarantee you it was someone who thought they where going to be able to walk out the front porch and pick an Elk out of a herd .Or who thought they were going to sleep in a bed with a high thread count .Get past that notion my wife went with me .they have hot showers all the snacks and sodas you can drink .Clean beds and great guides.

I randomly found this outfitter while trying to book my first elk hunt ever
After emailing several outfitters .Pete was the first one to respond me to right away .He arranged a phone call meeting where he walked me through the elk tag drawing application .We were almost done when my laptop froze forcing me to reboot .Much to my dismay all my info was lost .Pete stayed on the phone with me to help with the codes again .we spent almost an hour sorting it out .TEAM SIERRA Blanca Regardless of the draw out come you will be first choice every year .If you guys pay this much attention to potential clients i can only imagine how you treat your clientele lucky enough to draw tags
