Windbreak Hotel, Cafe & Lounge

I choose to stay here for self quarantining after a trip that put my mother at risk. They were extremely helpful and kind. There isn't much in the room for amenities, but the price couldn't be beat. The restaurant and bar below the rooms was lively and filled with locals and history from my younger years. A local place with historic past to lay your head down off the road and have a bite and a brew.

Hubby and I just stopped in at the Cafe for breakfast. Loved the extra thick bacon. Service was friendly.

Good comfort food, good beverage selection, and good service. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE PASTRAMI BACONATOR BURGER !! They changed the name of the sandwich on the menu. But it's truly grubbin'!!

I hadn't been in here since the mid 90's, until today. The food was just as good as the last time I was there. (Moved out and came back home)
However, the skillet I ordered with the sautéed onions in it? TOTALLY wiped my stomach out. I think it has to do with an easier skewed stomach, maybe? I guess we'd have heard if it was food poisoning, right?
Awesome wait person, good food, just prepare yourself for waay too much food. Unless you can share? 🥴

I always get the Halibut Fish and Chips. TODAY, for the first time in years of going there I tried a steak.
Nice cut, cooked to requested heat and delicious. Our server was very kind and always left us smiling. It has always been a good experience at the windbreak cafe, today however was exceptional.

Offer awesome breakfasts, the wait staff is always pleasant. When we come to town, about 4 times a year, we always come to eat here at least once.

While visiting the area, this place was recommended for a good, affordable fish meal. We went in the really afternoon, and we were seated immediately. The service staff was very friendly. The food was excellent, and as a bonus, the kids really enjoyed it. I would urge visitors to the area to stop in and give it a try. I recommend the fish and chips.

Great atmosphere, clean, great service. We ate in the lounge and enjoyed the game and band playing on at least four flat screen monitors. We enjoyed the Philly and chicken strips, but the soup starter was worth the whole ticket!

I didn't know they had rooms there. I went to dinner and enjoyed my meal service was good. Music was too loud but that's nothing to do with the food and the service.

Absolutely a fantastic dining experience. Every time we have been here, the food and the service exceeds our expectations. If you are lucky enough to dine here, hopefully you will have a young lady named Brandy wait on you. A MUST visit on a day you don't feel like cooking yourself!

This place had some amazing food! When we went to eat it was about 10 p.m. the lounge was the only area open. They have different theme nights, we happen to show up on Malt Shop night. The music was great and the food was amazing very large portions and an amazing staff who even though they were closed at that point provided great customer service very friendly staff this is definitely one of the ones that I'll be coming back to check out again and again.

Fast good, it is a dinner type feel so if you don't mind that it's a great place. The staff is friendly, they are able to get you in and out quickly which is nice when you're short on time. The burgers are the best next to the fries they are always good.

70's style bar, and the restaurant had a nice variety of food options. The best way I can describe this place is it was comfortable, with good food. I had a prime rib that was probably the best I've ever had, literally cut it with my fork.

Awesome little bar/restaurant combo. Lots of great ambiance, outstanding food (try their Philly...just, wow.), friendly staff. I stop in about once a week, just for that Philly, but don't limit yourself, everything else is equally delicious. Definitely worth it.

I LOVE their breakfasts, especially their Cajun Skillets. Home fries cooked just right and the perfect amount of spices. And their drinks at the bar are also really good. So far my favorite is their Tokyo Iced Tea.

We had a delightful service staff named Lisa. She was cheerful and funny. The food we ate was quite good. And just the perfect amount. The price for our meal reasonable. We will be sure to refere other customers. Also we will be back. Thank you for a great meal.

Always love this place. Theyre consistently AMAZING especially for breakfast! Chicken fried steak is the best in the valley...even over the noisy goose. Worth the wait if there is one but mostly they're very quick!!

Also known as the Trout House (look for the billboard sign with that name). Always great food here, and very rarely a long wait for it. Highly recommend the Biscuit Boat. Even during all this COVID nonsense, the reduced menu still boasts plenty of options.

Decor/atmosphere is nice too. With no high-intensity bulbs to glare upon you, the bar section’s mild lighting provides a sense of privacy even when seated at a floor table instead of a booth.
