The bridge itself was closed, so our hike was shorter than expected. But my young children still had a great time watching the water rush by, looking at cool rocks, and discovering all sorts of insects. Beautiful area.

Easy well maintained trails. The locals are friendly and will offer up some good advice.

Easy access in winter. Gates frozen open (buried in the snow) and usually a well-packed trail so you don't need skis or snowshoes. (Step off that trail, though, and you're thigh-deep.) Beautiful back up into the trees by the creek. Even when the parking lot is full the space is not crowded. And--to a person--everybody I've run into there was super-friendly and courteous. Gotta love the outdoors and people who love it there. Go have fun.

Wonderful winter area! Took Sheepshead trail for snowshoeing one day. Saw a moose and her two calves, so we needed to make a detour around them. Another day we took the groomed trail while cross country skiing. That trail is 4 miles in length (the loop is 8) and not too busy! Bathrooms along the route, creeks, and waterfall sightings, too.

Just an absolutely beautiful area for a winter walk in the woods! The trailhead is easy to access, there's ample parking, and the trails are clearly marked. Some of the trails are groomed for nordic skiing for both skate and classic. My husband and oldest daughter and I enjoyed and out and back snowshoe hike along the stream and in the woods. The snow on the boulders in the stream was incredible. This will definitely be a repeat hike for us when we come back to Targhee.

Nice place to stop for a rest. Clean restroom with awesome new painted mural. Dogs are welcome, and there's usually others to play with. Haven't been on the Nordic trails, but they always seem to be busy.

Great place for snowshoeing! My wife and I went today and had an absolute blast! Just be careful of falling in as the snow is very deep in some places.

Start of a nice, flat, trail with lots of trees. Good for walking, or snowshoeing and XC skiing. It's very popular, though.
