I have lived in Klamath Falls for 2 1/2 years now (summer 2018). When we first moved here the CBOC was full, so we were directed to an outside clinic. The people there were great, but nothing was accomplished. In early fall of 2020, we finally got into the CBOC and what a difference! Everyone we have dealt with has been wonderful; friendly, helpful, compassionate, and attentive. After our first appointments, we got referrals that we had been asking for (to no avail) since we moved here.
I love the Klamath Falls CBOC!!!

The bottom line is this: 90% of what you get from the VA Health Care System depends on your attitude. The other 10% is location. If you want big city services, move to a big city.

Also, considering the huge amount of veterans in the VA Health Care System, I think they do amazing work Are the perfect? No. But neither is anyone else...

They all try really hard but they offered a me a video conference for my yearly physical because they are busy. I have a large lump next to my spine and was hopeful that someone could look at it. I really feel bad for the elderly veterans they are not able to try find healthcare on the outside. I love the people in the VA but I am not a fan of the VA system.

I am a Nurse Manager and a combat vet. I have never provided such horrible customer service, nor would I be allowed to do so working for the medical center that I do. The shear frustration alone prevents me and likely many other vets from seeking help through the VA regardless of the services being offered. There most not be reimbursement through customer satisfaction with the VA like there is with all other MC across the nation, because they would not be in business for long.

I have been trying to get my "outside" medical records in the hands of the Wight City VA and the Klamath Falls VA CBOC for an untold number of months. The closest I have got is to hear that no persons, or offices have any of my documents. I have been told to continue to see my PCP in Klamath Falls, only to be told "I don't know why Carrie would have told you that?"

Suffice is to say, my frustration is beyond words and the expectation that proper care, and appreciation for the veteran is something that the VA aspires to, is nonexistent. If I could I would tell every vet to avoid the VA like it was a plague, but I can't because it is all we have to help us have a long and healthy life... Sad.

If my department treated our patients the way I have been treated, I would have replaced every employee.

And I thought people were overreacting when they say that the VA doesn’t actually care about our veterans. I’ve never been so disappointed in a medical care facility. My brother is a veteran, he just recently got out of the US Navy. And while he’s a bit too upset to sit down and write this, I’m angry enough that I want everyone to know. My brother has always had high blood pressure. While he was active duty, his doctor put him on a medication to help control it; he was otherwise completely healthy. Since he’s been out of the Navy and trying to get in to the VA, he’s ran out of the remainder of his prescription. He’s been having chest pains, sometimes to the point where we almost head to the ER. He went down and bought the most accurate (and expensive) blood pressure monitor he could find, and monitored/recorded at home until he could get in to see the doctor (it was always MUCH too high). He just got home from the clinic, after having to wait weeks to get in, and apparently the doctor he saw doesn’t think any of that information is relevant. He told him he was fine and to come back in another year. My brother was completely defeated when he got home. You’re better off trying to find health insurance and healthcare elsewhere. I have multiple friends that have had the same experience with this VA facility. Wait weeks to get in, and then have any and all medical issues brushed under the rug, and any concerns ignored. Sorry for this novel of a review, but I’ve truly been fed up with this. Good luck to our veterans, I sincerely hope you all find the care you need.

This clinic is garbage. They straight up blew me off when I was having suicidal thoughts. I've been trying to get care over 10 years; and have gotten nothing but excuses. If you want help, don't go here.

Don't waste your time here. Zero veterans on the staff which means no one can relate and they can't be bothered to do their jobs. Go somewhere else.
