Peaks of Otter Winery

I love this place!! I was looking for a winery near Lynchburg to go to on the weekends as a retreat and I think I found it. You can get a flight of 8 samples and choose which wines you want to try. They have a lot of sweet wines, which I love. They have board games and books for you to enjoy along with your wine too! I personally recommend the cherry cheesecake, twisted tangerine and strawberry reserves.

This winery is adorable! I had 8 wine tastings for $8. Loved several of the wines. The place also felt like a country store with jams, salsa, sauces, pickled veggies, local honey, and so much more. Next to it is an orchard. You can also feed the animals! Easy to get to and worth going!!!!!

There's no winery like this one anywhere! The staff make you feel at home the minute you walk in. Rowan, Libby, and Wayne are just a few of the people who make your visit an experience. The wine tastings are always fun and just a pleasure to partake in! Anything from vino, to salad dressings, to jams, to olive oils, etc, etc.....they've got it here. Basically, if they don't have it......you don't need it! Whether you live here, or you're just visiting the area, this is a stop that you should definitely make. The backdrop alone is worth a framed picture! Festivals, special events, Peach and Apple picking, and they even have a beautiful historic house that you can stay in on property (if it's available). These are just a few reasons to stop by, and have a fun visit for all ages.

Very interesting wines! I’m not a huge fruit lover but it was really fun to taste the different flavors. The flight was 8 wines for $8 + tax. Staff was extraordinarily friendly and knowledgeable! Store has tons of local products and the farm focuses on sustainability, which is awesome. Beautiful location in the mountains.

Best winery around. Wine is amazing. Staff and service even better. Come and visit, this experience will change your life.

We had a great time. The employees were friendly and the place is neat and clean. We fed the animals and walked the browns. We did the wine tasting and tried all 20. All in a great place and worth the drive out.

Cute and quiet little place. The wines are mostly sweet with over 40 to choose from. They offer wine flights and you can taste every wine they offer by choosing 8 wines the taste for each flight which costs 8 dollars per person. The place reminds me of an old country store. They also offer jams, jellys, apple sauce and other canned goods made at the farm. There is an outdoor deck seating area which we did not use the day we went due to very hot temperatures. The bathrooms are located outside the tasting room in front of the outside deck seating area. The staff were very friendly and down the earth. They allowed dogs inside, which for me was a plus.

This was my first visit to a winery, and my first time doing a wine tasting. I have no other experience to compare it to, but I had a blast. It was fun. The gentleman conducting the tasting was fun and engaging. It was a fun way to spend a beautiful Saturday afternoon. I later picked peaches in the orchards. I bought wine and apple butter. It's a beautiful drive to visit them. I will recommend to friends.

Great experience today while on a field trip! My son enjoyed "hat" the bunny and loved watching the guide make apple cider and apple butter! They both tasted amazing, making me buy a half gallon of the cider! Will be coming back again to get some jams, wine, and jellys! Im sure they all taste amazing!😀 and everyone was so nice and answered questions promptly and politely.

Beautiful place. We loved visiting the critters. Great selection of wine. Friendly staff. We sampled 20 wines and received a souvenir glass for $5 each. Great way to spend an afternoon.

People were great, wines were delicious, and views were gorgeous. Great out of the way spot to relax. Plenty of room to walk your dog/dogs if it's just a stop along your way.

It was beautiful!!!! And the owners are so friendly and accommodating. It was an amazing addition to an already amazing first trip to Peaks of Otter. We will definitely be back! ❤

Beautiful winery well worth the drive from Roanoke! Great wine and a beautiful area with the kindest staff. Quite enjoyed both our wine flights and feeding the farm animals! Would certainly come back again.

The absolute best wine and best staff. I'm from Pennsylvania but everytime I'm down this way I make it a point to stop in. Such wonderful personable people.

Always love the wines and the chill atmosphere. The mini farm animals were pretty cool while sipping on that great wine they make so many flavors to choose from hard to choose which is the best but one of my favorites is grandma's apple pie..

This is a beautiful orchard with so much character. It is well worth the drive!

This place was amazing! Wines were fantastic! It was hard to pick even 12 to buy a case! Andy, was super personable and an amazing host! I have done wine tastings in many places throughout the country and this was my absolute favorite! Not only because the wine tastes great, but because every single person we encountered over the few hours we spent there was so nice, fun and genuine. Wine tasting, chatting, feeding the animals and taking photos was an extremely pleasant experience. Would recommend to anyone and everyone.
