Dinner for two with a bottle of wine one appetizer and two dinners at $200. But worth the money

My husband and I were initially going to go to the restaurant next door to here for dinner, but we were drawn into Il Contadino by the music and ambience. Our experience with Michael, who was the only person working (waiter/chef/owner) was amazing. It was a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle. The food was great, wine selection was astounding, and it felt like an authentic New York Italian restaurant. I have absolutely no complaints.

Legitimately one of the best dinning experiences I've had in years. The food is out of this world, the atmosphere was authentic & the owner couldn't have went further out of his way to make sure we enjoyed everything (including making food that wasn't even on the menu, like a veggie platter). It genuinely felt like I was having dinner at Arthur Ave in the Bronx, New York. Also, they must have 1,000s of different kinds of wine & the owner is one of the most knowledgeable people I've met when it comes to Wine. I cannot recommend this place anymore to anyone who wants an authentic Italian Dining Experience.

Authentic Italian, amazing wines and atmosphere. Michael, the owner, is so accommodating and will customize an event for occasions. Who does table side anymore? He will for special occasions! Classy, quiet and fantastic.

Absolutely Fabulous! Michael (the owner) stayed open late for us, and blew us away with homemade pastas and traditional Italian dishes like only a grandmother can make. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and delicious - and made with a care that shows he loves his work. This is a restaurant not to miss if you like Italian food and you are anywhere in South Florida! Buonissimo!

Best Itai food I have since I was in Italy! Just Phenomenal. Intimate unassuming restaurant took in out family of 5 and blew us away. Michel is the owner, chef, and waiter. Pasta Vincenzo, chicken Parm, chicken Marsala, penne vodka with chicken and shrimp pasta devoured and shared among the whole family. The bacon ceasar salad and the eggplant stack appetizers all were soooo good. Well done Sir!, We will be back next time we are in town.

Came here for a work trip and was highly recommended by our hotel staff. This place definitely did not disappoint. Although expensive, it was definitely worth it. The owner, Michael, was there (as he always is) and made us feel like we were family. He made us pasta in homemade vodka sauce right next to our table and it was the best vodka sauce I've ever had. Then he brought out salads, which were salads. Nothing extraordinary, but still tasty nonetheless. We each had different entrees and not one of them were skimpy on portions or flavor. He paired the food together with some great wines as well. The desserts tied everything together. Cannoli like gramma used to make and the key lime pie was out of this world (his daughter makes it!). If you're ever in the area, make sure you stop and enjoy yourselves!

Hot and Sweaty after walking from beach to Schoolhouse Square. Wanted somewhere quiet to eat. Il Contadino deserted. We took a chance and were so happy we did. Excellent service and presentation. Chicken Marsala, which is often average at restaurants had such a flavorful sauce. Home made bread w/garlic and parmesan super!! Also had special of tender short rib meat over pasta. Superb. Seemed like the real thing to us.

Hands down the best Italian Authentic Flavor. I didn't have to add anything. The Garlic Bread that is Homemade is LIFE its definitely a must try soft and delicious. Would definitely recommend this place for anyone that's wants good Italian food at a decent price this is it. ITS MADE FROM THE HEART ❤ and you can taste it.

Outstanding from start to finish!!! This restaurant is excellent authentic Italian food and is farm to table. We had the meatballs( to die for) , penne vodka, mussels and chicken piccata. Everything was excellent. Loved the atmosphere. You felt like you were in Tuscany. Service was excellent and very attentive. We felt so lucky to find this place and we will definitely be back!! A great find!!!

Perhaps one of the finest Italian restaurants I have dined in. Michael and his staff take the farm to table concept to new heights. I started with the eggplant napoleon, wow. Fresh and delicious take on eggplant rollatini. Farm fresh ingredients make a huge difference. Had one of the specials for dinner. His presentation of a traditional veal cutlet with eggplant entree gave new life to an old favorite....amazing. Topped it off with a house signature cannoli and cappuccino. Best ever. Put several Boston North End standouts to shame. This place is the real deal.

Hands down the best Italian food in Delray Beach. The Bolognese is the best I've had anywhere. And Michael the owner and chef can prepare anything you could want. If you like authentic Italian food (and who doesn't) then you owe it to yourself to check out Il Contadino.

Best homemade Italian food. Great wine selection, outstanding service, by chef Michael Menna and Alex, the Italian-brazilian waiter, one of the best ever. All around I would give an 9 out of 10. Successful business, will be there for many years to come

Amazing. I’d recommend it to all my friends. Think old-world style Italian with a one page menu. The owner is also the chef, and he will make sure you have a great experience! They also have a huge wine menu if that’s your thing.

My husband and I tried Il Contadino for dinner tonight. We both had the fresh Mahi Special with broccoli and roasted potatoes and the Insalate de Contadino salad. For dessert we enjoyed the delicious homemade key lime pie. Everything was prepared to perfection and the owner Michel served us personally. The restaurant's atmosphere makes you feel like you are at an intimate restaurant in the heart of Italy. We highly recommend Il Contadino!

Just had dinner with my girlfriend at II Contadino tonite. The food was Absolutely delicious. The pasta seafood entrees, and the mussels for our appetizers were out of this world. Forget the Avenue. This place is a hidden gem. Thank you, Chef Michael

This is the best place to go to for dinner in Delray Beach! The service is incredible here. I have never been to a restaurant with better service. The food is beyond incredible, and if it's not on the menu just ask, they are more than willing to accommodate. And don't get me started on the wine....so. much. wine. And there are some amazing selections!

Discover this oh-so-charming Italian eatery and you will uncover a new Delray gem. Tucked away just two quick blocks north of Atlantic Avenue in the Pineapple Grove Arts District, this is the perfect spot for those who appreciate al fresco dining but aren't always so pleased with al fresco amidst the chaos of the main drag. Everything we've tried has been wonderful, including the veal piccata, the dover sole franchese, the pork chop scarpariello, the penne with vodka sauce and the key lime pie. A robust wine collection and friendly, attentive service complement the yummy cuisine.

Excellent. Delicious food, we tried the penne vodka and it was absolutely delicious, Kevin our server was great as well. Definitely coming back!!
