Frenier Landing Restaurant and Oyster Bar

We were traveling through the area and randomly just searched places for lunch. This place came up and we decided to stop by because the menu selection, prices and the view! We are so happy we stopped! The food was so delicious, the gumbo specifically was to die for. Our waitress was great and of course you can’t beat the amazing view! You have to try and stop by if traveling to NOLA in general.

Stopped here for dinner after Saints game on our way back to TX…..we always are looking for great food while over in LA ( miss living there). I highly recommend this place…..will prob stop here next game too!!

This place is a hidden gem. I had never heard of it until one day, I decided to go see what was down this little tiny road off old US 51. Got to the lake, BAM! Frenier Landing.

I’ve eaten here several times but this past time was the best. My girlfriend and I stopped here for cocktails before we went ziplining nearby (see ZipNOLA), and the drinks were fantastic and the bartender really knew her stuff!

After we were done with ziplining, we went back for lunch. Only had room for the Imperial Oysters - which might be the best oysters I’ve ever had in my life. They are charbroiled on the half shell, then topped with lump crabmeat and Alfredo Sauce. Wow. They may seem a little pricey at $29.99 a dozen, but they’re worth it!

I’ve had a few meals here over the years, and I have never been remotely disappointed. It’s worth the drive. You have beautiful views of the lake, and it’s just a real gem of a location. It’s just a couple miles north of Laplace (be sure not to get on I-55, get off at the Laplace exit closest to New Orleans then take the frontage road until Peavine Lane).

Worth it 100%. I look forward to going back soon!

ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS PLACE! decided to stop here after zip lining! Was very impressed with the food and service here. Our server DANA WAS AMAZING!!!!! Give her a raise please. She provided us with amazing service and engaged in fantastic conversation. If I ever come back to Louisiana I will definitely be sure to stop here. I had the BBQ shrimp and it was to die for!!!!

A great find staying outside of New Orleans. Food was delicious, view was amazing at sunset, staff was very kind. A very comfortable setting for a meal with friends or a special date night out. We had a mix of daily specials and menu items and all were delicious. Definitely make sure to have a cup of the gumbo added to whatever meal you plan to have!

Exceptional in every way! Beautiful lakeshore setting. The Pontchartrain salad was loaded with crabmeat and delicious. Perfectly fried, huge seafood platter. Service was perfect. Crystal was beyond gracious. We will definitely return. Thanks again for a wonderful Saturday evening dinner.

We came for an early dinner on a weekday. The service was kind, well spoken, and efficient with their order taking tech. The view was fantastic as well. I'd make a comment about the sign being hard to read but, it's the only thing back there so no chance of missing it. Love gator in the boat launch next to the restaurant too. This would be the perfect place to bring a tourist visiting the area.

We had our wedding rehearsal dinner at Frenier Landing. Words can’t even describe how beautiful it was. Mrs. Crystal is absolutely AMAZING and is an angel. Before booking, we got to taste all of the menu options, we didn’t feel pressured to make decisions… it was such a laid back process! We were able to bring in our own decorations and Crystal even helped out with setting them up. We did a buffet style meal, they served bacon wrap shrimp and alligator sausage (both were to die for), the fried fish and crab and corn bisque were delicious!!! Price per person was SO REASONABLE for the amount of food we had. My father in law passed away a week prior, and Crystal was nice enough to bring food to our house for the bereavement without us asking. I can’t thank Crystal and the frenier landing staff enough for a perfect rehearsal dinner!

Great, relaxed setting right on the lake. The food was amazing. Appetizers we ordered:
fried fried green tomatoes
Crayfish kickers
Oysters frenier
Alligator sausage
All very good.
The shrimp etouffee entree was beyond my expectations.
Topped it off with the homemade bread pudding-it’s the best I’ve ever had.

I had just done the zip line nearby and was thirsty, hangry and my blood sugar felt like it was hitting bottom. I saw on the Google Maps that this was near and came on over. It is raised because it is right on the lake, but there is a ramp to get up. Oyster bar to the right, restaurant to the left. I went to the restaurant. I was immediately seated and after being asked, my water and coke were brought right over. Everything is neat and clean inside and it was about 75% filled with customers. I ordered the crab cakes with fries and veggies. Perfection. All of it delightful. Waiter stopped by regularly to make sure everything was ok. After I was finished, I ordered the vanilla bean with caramel to go. It was perfection. All of it was reasonably priced. Great food, great service. I will be back if I'm in the area again.

Was celebrating a family member's birthday party. The food and service was excellent. Atmosphere was friendly, everyone had a good time.

Really cool "camp" themed interior. Wood plank, metal roofing and critters.
Charbroiled Oysters were fresh and delicious!
Hushpuppies are savory variety.
Fried Seafood platter had a light, non greasy breading. Food was mildly seasoned. If you are a Tony's addict, bring your shaker with you.
A bit too cold today for outside dining, but the vew is fantastic.
Easily accessible from I-10 or by boat.

Stopped by for coffee and a drink. This is a hidden gem, off the beaten path. Did not have time to eat but menu and decor is awesome. Definitely worth the drive. Great view of the lake. Will be back.

Went back with group of 8. Food was excellent from eggplant dish to stuffed flounder to crawfish kickers. Service was excellent. We brought a couple of bottles of wine and were able to drink with meal for small corking fee. Even though we were 8 the tip was not included like in some restaurants so remember to tip if service was good and I’m sure it will be. Beautiful view of lake and the rustic interior was phenomenal. They had damage with Ida but it’s back to normal again. Gets crowded so recommend reservations.
Ask about stuffed bear cat on wall…interesting.

Went this past Saturday and everything about our trip was great. The staff was incredibly polite and our server was very attentive. It was all highly appreciated and the food was awesome! We had a really enjoyable experience from start to finish.

Always great food and atmosphere. I was shocked that a customer was allowed to have a live beautiful big parrot sitting at the table as if it was human. Unsanitary, should be a food cleanliness health concern.

We went to Frenier Landing Restaurant in a beautiful afternoon. This restaurant has a great seats outside, where you can sit and enjoy the view of the Pontchartrain Lake. We ordered Oyster Platter and Soft Shell Craft. The oysters were big and fresh. The Soft Shell Craft was the second best Soft Shell Craft that I've ever had. (The first prize is belong to a restaurant in Cape May, NJ).
There was a crocodile on the "small" lake next to the restaurant when we were there. It's chill and relax. I highly recommend you to go to this restaurant in a beautiful summer afternoon. It won't let you down.

Food was all around delicious! We started with the fried crayfish, bowl of gumbo, & finished with crawfish & shrimp etouffee. I cannot express how good it was! The staff were great with answering all questions that we had. A great place that we found by chance on our way back to the hotel.

This was the second time I've been to Frenier Landing. Great views and great service. We had the crawfish kickers (which were dynamite with the remoulade sauce), the oysters with the melted brie and creamer spinach for appetizer (the oysters could have used a little citrus acid to kick it up a notch), the fried shrimp poboy was fantastic (one of the better fried shrimps I've had in a long time) and fried grouper fish taco (also could have used something else in the batter to make it more tasty along with leaving it in the frier just a tad bit longer. I went as far as adding the remoulade sauce from the crawfish kickers and the tacos were super tasty). I think our experience was great all the way around

We sat at the bar with our favorite Bartender Justis. She is the sweetest ❤and there is no drink that she cannot create. Great Atmosphere, delicious food, great service.

Crab cake sandwich with the sweet potato fries.
Only tiny complaint was the bun didn’t taste fresh. But maybe that’s the way it is supposed to be. It’s a brioche bun.
