Boondocks Restaurant

This is a cozy local place recommend to us. Excellent service, reasonable prices, great food. We had the admiral's platter. Fried Flounder, shrimp, scallops, oysters, calamari, crab cake and side. It was delicious! We split it and could hardly finish it. Not greasy at all, lightly battered, tender and flaky. They have a full service bar and outdoor seating. Daily specials. Deserts. Live music on the weekends. If you leave hungry it's your fault.

The stuffed flounder was awesome. The blackened shrimp was perfect. Great staff and excellent service. I recommend this place.

This is a great place to get an affordable dinner with great service. Our servers were very attentive, especially great since it’s was really busy. Our table had fried shrimp and flounder, hush puppies, loaded potato and hush puppies, wings, and the melted chicken. It was all delicious. Also we had a variety of desserts and they were wonderful, especially the bourbon pecan pie. Atmosphere was very casual. Will definitely visit again!

Excellent Food in a Rustic Setting
We ate here with a small group. We were seated quickly by a friendly staff member. Our server arrived quickly and she was very friendly and responsive. They have specials every night, so ask about them.

We all ordered some form of seafood. All of the members of our group loved their food. It was cooked and seasoned well, without a lot of added salt. There is a good assortment of entrees and the selection of sides is very good.

They have a bar, which seemed popular.

Food was great in taste and portions. I had shrimp&grits and they were awesome. In our group there was shrimp( big&fresh in taste), flounder ( light in breading), crab cakes( about an inch thick and diameter of softball, very tasty). Side of fried okra ( very good), french fries tasted like fresh cut fries,cold slow was yummy. Calamari very good and generous portions. Price was very fair for portions and taste. We will certainly be back for another visit.

Don't waste your time at the Foolish Frog or Dockside! Boondocks is the best! Our table had fried shrimp, crab cakes, flounder, Greek salad, burger, kids cheese pizza and key lime pie! We was a large group but waited on very fast. One of our favorite sides was the fried okra! Their prices are more reasonable also. I decided to write a review because we was only eating at locations that had the best reviews or someone local recommended. Boondocks deserves 5 stars! Someone local said Boondocks had new owners and the food had improved. We only wish we had eaten here earlier during our vacation.

This place was awesome! A hole in the wall that you can easily blink your way by. Don't do that. Crab stuffed flounder was excellent. Fried shrimp and scallops were both perfect. No easy feat for sea scallops. A party of 8 and everyone received their food perfectly cooked and fairly quickly. If you're out here, do yourself a favor. Give them a try.

We had the calamari for an appetizer and it was very good. I had the fried shrimp basket. The shrimp were breaded great and the fries were awesome. My husband has the chorizo pasta and there were no complaints. Nice to stop on the way back from hunting island. Would recommend.

If you're looking for an amazing, personal experience, this is the place. While we had AMAZING FOOD, and the best crab legs ever, the service and conversation with the bartender was stellar.
Make sure to sit in the bar. You'll hear all of the local stories, especially about shrimping. It was like hearing your own personal live story of A Perfect Storm.

The service was excellent and the staff were friendly with a smile. The food was reasonably priced, great taste and was presented hot to the table. Staff check with you for additional coffee, water refills routinely but are not intrusive. Definitely worth the money and time (if you need to wait in line). They get busy especially after 5pm. Get there early.

Saw a few bad reviews so we were hesitant, but also noticed they were older reviews. Very glad we took a chance. Outstanding food, and service. Fried seafood was perfect, broiled (my preference) just the right amount of really good seasoning. Will definitely be going back. All 10 in my party agreed.

Buffalo shrimp, Buffalo oysters, crab cakes, all excellent appetizers. The baked stuffed flounder was perfect.the side of green beans was a southern style green bean in a generous portion that were just amazing. The seared peppered ahi was perfectly cooked with an excellent pepper crust. I can't wait to go back.

Dana cooked my steak to perfection! I asked him for a Pittsburgh style temp, which my expectations were absolutely met! My Server Brittany was very polite and attentive. I love the atmosphere and all the nautical decorations. The only improvement I would suggest is that I would like to see wood style floors! That being said I really enjoy this establishment!

Pretty solid establishment if you don't mind the outdated style. Our experience was rather special as we witnessed a family fued fight live in the restaurant. Owner was super nice and handled immediately. The food does not disappoint.

Always a comfortable atmosphere! Not only for comfortable locals, but anyone who are all made to feel welcomed and even those who haven't let there guard or hair down since who knows when! Incredible delightful selections on the menu, and guarantee you will enjoy it, speak about it, and make a return trip for sure!

Everything was wonderful, the staff was very welcoming and joyful. This was my first time in this establishment and I was very impressed. My server was sweet and made my experience fun and enjoyable. My server was Kristy and she was very informative on all the questions I asked her. If you are looking for good seafood I recommend boondocks, and when you go make sure you ask for kristy!

We saw the commercials for Boondocks on tv & finally made our way there.

We enjoyed a really nice meal. The restaurant was exactly like the owner Dana described it on the commercial. We asked to meet him & he came out to talk to us right away. After our dinner we asked to take a picture with him. What a great guy.

We will definitely go back & bring our friends with us.

Good times were had here! We moved here in January and this is a great place to hang out with the locals! Fried oysters and shrimp were awesome!! Live music was great ,Will definitely be coming back!

Picked up two Burgers and two Bar B Q sandwiches on way to Coffin Pt to visit friends. The Burger was honestly the best I have ever had and served with tater tots. Lifted the foil and found lettuce, tomato and pickle. Wed night special for 10.99. Can not wait to go back.

Omgosh!!!❤❤💙💙 We absolutely Enjoyed every bite. We had a variety of menu items and tonight was also steak night so at least one of us had to get steak. It was cooked perfectly and was said to be very good. I, myself, had the Boonie Bird!!! Yummy Yummy! Grilled chicken covered with a crab cake and cheese along with a side of grilled cajun corn on the cob wrapped in bacon!!! We also had the Bourbon Shrimp, which was amazing! I can't remember the names of other dishes but they were just as tasty! We also binged for desserts, lol, and they were melt in your mouth! You could tell they were homemade and oh so good!! We had the pecan pie, raspberry icecream sandwich, key lime pie, and chocolate cheesecake!😍🤪😍 It's an older establishment but the food is to die for!!! We had it years ago and it's still great if not better !! Also, highly recommend getting there for an early dinner, they open at 4:30, because the parking lot fills up fast once they're open 😁😁
