Very busy. We showed up at 6 on a Thursday and there was a line out the door which seems pretty typical. We waited about 30 minutes to order. The line inside gives you time to browse their options, of which there are many. At least 30 different cakes to choose from, as well some pies, quiche, cookies, brownies, and cookie pastries. There was a good selection of about six vegan cakes, and a couple gluten free options too. Our group tried the Apple cinnamon cake, the banana pudding cake, carrot cake, pineapple and coconut cake, key lime cake, red velvet cake, and a lemon curd cupcake. We enjoyed every one. The prices varied a little but were about $8 for a slice, and $4 for cupcakes. They offer free water cups in a dispenser in their indoor seating area.

Since it was a nice day there were people sitting outside, but their interior pleasant and divided enough for groups. We had kids with us so we chose the large table near the fireplace which was setup with some baskets of toys and books for children.

We enjoyed the visit and will stop by for desserts again in the future.

The indoor atmosphere is everything here! Several intimate spaces are designed for customers to linger: a children’s nook with a fireplace, a dining table with a jigsaw puzzle in progress, and cozy booths and a private room for deep conversations.

I was craving cake, so I got a chocolate cupcake and a vanilla cupcake. The vanilla was exquisite. The chocolate one was not as decadent as I expected, but there are several chocolate variations, so I recommend asking about the richest ones if you’re a chocoholic.

I appreciate that small cups of ice water are available for free from a self-serve tap in the dining room.

Order online if you don’t want to wait in long line- we went at 7pm and the line was still out the door! very cute atmosphere inside , outside seating only. Liked that they had dog treats for my pooch. The cake was very good- like others reviewed below it’s super sweet, cake very moist. They also have cookie sandwiches which was also flavorful! Good stop for a sweet tooth fix

Beautiful location and welcoming environment and staff.

I was truly impressed with the amount of cakes, cookies and cupcakes. I believe they have gluten free options as well. I was welcomed into the chic location by a few members of the staff to ensure I was taken care of.

I ordered a total of five cupcakes, carrot cake, an old fashioned, red velvet, vanilla and Oreo. I love the carrot cake and will definitely make sure I go get another one before I leave. I wasn't necessarily overly impressed with the Oreo as it didn't seem as fresh as the others. Everyone else did like the others.

As an out of towner, I didn't know how much things cost-I probably would've purchased more desserts had the prices been posted. There were no menus posted or available (I asked).

Oh my gosh, I've loved Maxie B's for a long time but hadn't been in a while because I stopped being able to eat gluten about 4 years ago. I went to order a slice of cake for a birthday celebration and realized they do actually have things made without gluten. I was super excited so I ordered the mocha cupcake and the strawberry pot cupcake. Y'all. When I tell you these were the best cupcakes ever. I never ever would have guessed they weren't made with regular flour. Please keep making these and please keep adding to the selection. It's been so disappointing since giving up gluten and this makes me so happy.

Greensboro’s favorite bakery for a reason. The cake range is extensive with lots of vegan options plus pies, cookies, cupcakes, muffins and other treats. On my most recent visit, I tried slices of the banana pudding cake with real nilla wafer crumbles and the vegan almond blueberry cake. Both are amazing and well worth a try. Also got a 7-up cupcake (a bit sweet for my taste but such a fun and unique flavour option), a vegan crumble bar (slightly dry but overall good) and a ginger molasses cookie (awesome - you can’t go wrong).

I love the Italian cream cake and the strawberry cupcake plenty of others but those are my favorites!!! I love the decor, it makes you feel at home!!! Just want to tell you guys that service is at 3 because sometimes the line is all the way down the road but it goes by fast.

Picked up my birthday cake there! It was as tasty as it was beautiful! Always a pleasure to visit this place when I'm in town.

EVERYTHING IS DELICIOUS! My family and I visit Maxie B's at least once a week and we have tried a variety of cake slices. Great and speedy service and they never disappoint. I like the online ordering option, as well as the inside seating for those that want to enjoy their dessert onsite. Their cakes are incredible, with rich flavor and moisture. You must pay them a visit... You will thank me later!!!!!!!

I’m not even a cake person: these cakes are mind blowing. Don’t let the strip mall setting deceive you: this place has a lovely ambiance. The server helped me put together a cupcake selection for a friend’s birthday. Quick but thoughtful service!

Homemade pies, cakes, cookies, pound cakes, cupcakes, bars and vegan sweets. Also, they sale pie crust (not a fan but i know ppl who love thier pie crust). My Favorites: strawberry shortcake, pumpkin bar, vegan blueberry almond and sweet potato biscuit (havent seen sweet potato biscuit in awhile tho). Mother-n-Love loves the carmel cake. Hubby loves their version of a traditional birthday cake (full disclosure he takes off top layer of icing... thick icing). Gfriend loves loves 5 flavor pound cake. Daughter loves thier key lime cake & pie. They have a really good vegan chocolate cake & muffin too. You can order online or in store. They also have icecream cakes and pups treats. We shipped Maxie B's to New England for our October 2023 wedding. We got the Pumpkin Chocolate Chip flavor and people were taking several pieces to go as well. Most people by cake at a wedding are stuffed full, but our guests ensured they had room for this delicious cake. We are so grateful for the Maxie B's team for walking us through the ordering process to ensure the cakes were received on time and in great condition. We highly recommend Maxie B's and will be making many more trips to Greensboro, especially on our anniversary!

Maxie B’s is a great bakery that offers a wide variety of cakes, pies, cookies, and other goodies to choose from. Most of their items are on display, so you can see them before you pick. You can buy by the slice or get an entire cake. The slices are generously sized and sometimes difficult to finish. The bakery is well-staffed and attentive, so the line moves quickly even when it gets long.

If you’re looking for recommendations, I suggest trying their Oreo and Caramel flavors. They are my favorites but I'm sure which ever you pick will be good.

Overall, Maxie B’s is a must-visit bakery in Greensboro. Their friendly staff and efficient. There is often a line, but they are well staffed and the line moves quickly. You won’t be disappointed!

I’ve been hearing great things about this place and finally got to try and it did not disappoint! I knew it had to be good when there was a line out the door on a Tuesday! There was so much I wanted to try and Mya was very helpful i decided on the carrot, Carmel mocha, and the banana pudding!

I've been a patron of Maxie B's for 16 years now. Best cakes and desserts around within a 90 mile radius!! Never had a bad cake. Perfect ratio of cake to frosting. Love that you can order half cakes. The staff is very talented and creative with their designs. I've had everything from wedding cakes and cookies, to simple pre-made cakes and even pup cakes! I highly recommend trying the pumpkin chocolate chip cake and the white chocolate peppermint cake. Both seasonal. A few others that are a year-round must include the all-American chocolate cake, hummingbird cake, and fresh apple cake.

The atmosphere is absolutely a place to relax and enjoy your slice of cake or pie. The line was quick as I viewed all my favorite choices to eat. The texture of the cakes are slightly heavy and not light.

Fantastic bakery! Great selection of cakes, pies, frozen yogurt and many other treats!! Lots of places to sit, very nice decor, very clean, well-maintained and excellent service. The parking lot is a bit awkward and lines are common. Even with that in mind, these inconveniences seem rather minor when making that first bite into one of their treats!

I love the peaceful ambience of this little hidden gem! I come here for meetings and order cakes for special occasions. The service is stellar! This past week my employee and I were having a meeting and this rude Women with her two children were terrorizing the place! Kids were screaming and running around like at a playground, this is not a loud place at all, people need to control their children and not bring them into an environment that is peaceful if they are undisciplined!

My family tried Maxie B’s for the first time on my birthday. We ordered a couple of pieces of cake late in the evening not long before they closed. There was a long line to order. We tried an assortment of things, like the coconut cake, apple cake, caramel cake, and a lava cake with a side of vanilla ice-cream. The order counter was set up outside of the shop as the inside did not appear to be open. From the looks of it, the inside is quite lovely, but they have made an outdoor seating area in about 4 or 5 parking spaces just in front of their shop. We were lucky enough to find a table after we ordered, and really enjoyed the selection. The staff were very pleasant and once we ordered, it wasn’t long before our order was ready. We’d certainly enjoy coming her again. Each cake was very tasty.
