I went to lunch here with a friend. It was very good. Reminded me of eating at restaurants in the deep south. I recommend giving them a try. I had the fried catfish and mashed potatoes, green beans and roll. My friend had a grilled chicken sandwich and coleslaw. He told me his was very good. The waitress was on the ball.

My first meal at Wanda Js. Nice atmosphere. I ordered a take home meal from Wanda J's. I got two meals , both fried chicken. If you can't get chicken right, no need to go further. The chicken was perfect 👌 sides, Okra, blacked peas, mashed potatoes, buttered corn and Mac and cheese. Excellent!! Take out is where many restaurants fall short. I'm sold. I'll be back. Nice portions too!!

We had the catfish and liver and onions dinners. The catfish was seasoned well and fried hard. They give you two whole filets which was more than enough. It’s hard to find liver and onions anymore, and even harder to find it cooked right. Wanda J’s knows what they’re doing. Reminds me of eating it as a kid! The serving sizes are generous. The two diners with drinks came in at $30 and we had leftovers to take.

Super good. I had the catfish plate and country fried steak plate. I like how even on the potato they don’t cheap out on the gravy. The catfish is beautifully fried to perfection. Portions are generous and prices are more than fair. Everyone inside is hard working and friendly. I really like the vibe inside. Every time I come to T town I have to stop by.

We had breakfast with the LL Skillet, chicken fried chicken, biscuits & gravy 😋 . All of which were very good. The waitress was very friendly. We will definitely go back! Close to the airport for an easy meal before or after a flight.

Our lunch at this Southern Food Restaurant was wonderful. The food was absolutely delicious! I chose the Catfish lunch with two sides, cornbread and ice tea. Every bite reminded me of the home cooking that I grew up with. I DEFINITELY will dine here again when in the area. Custom Service was great too.

I went to a local shop on Black Wall Street and asked for food recommendations. They recommended Wanda J's and their recommendation did not disappoint. The workers are so nice and accommodating. I was able to have a light conversation with my server as well as get recommendations for other things in town. It was very sweet of her to take the time to talk to me. The food is good too! There are options for everyone. I got a basic meal of chicken tenders, fries, mashed potatoes and corn bread. The food was very tasty and was a good portion. I highly recommend anything with mashed potatoes and corn bread as your side. One thing to keep in mind is that the location is small. So make sure to give yourself enough time if you go at a regular dining time just in case it's busy. They do carry out too if you'd like to take it back to your hotel/home.

The food is a 12 out of 10 if you like comfort food. I had the two piece chicken dinner and was able to pick which pieces of chicken I wanted. Two breasts were $1 more. Dinners come with two sides and either a dinner roll or cornbread. The cornbread had a great flavor but was a little dry. The dinner roll was wonderful and obviously homemade. I had mashed potatoes, also homemade. The fried cabbage was just like my mother made over 50 years ago. The fried chicken was crispy and tender. Absolutely perfection. Our server, Glorie, was a sweet, attentive young lady. They offer daily specials. Smothered pork chops was the special the day we were there and they were heavenly, flavorful and tender. We are coming back and bringing our 94 yr old mother-in-law because she will love it I’m sure!

My partner and I FINALLY tried Wanda J’s after living in downtown Tulsa for a year and let me tell you… IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT! I had a craving for fried chicken and we decided to give this a try. I had the 2 piece fried chicken breast meal with mustard greens and candied yams on the side. I also chose the cornbread. Everything had flavor and the chicken was perfectly crispy and tender! The candied yams were sweet and tasty and the greens took me back to childhood memories!

My partner ordered the special of the day, the beef tips and he loved it! We also got a side of fried okra. Overall everything was delicious, the service was phenomenal and we loved our experience. We’ll definitely be back.

Chicken fried steak is the best in Tulsa! My husband had the grilled pork chops and really like them. We had mustard greens, fried okra, sweet potato casserole and fried cabbage, all the sides were perfect. The cornbread was so good and unusual it was sweet and like a corn cake. The service was fantastic. Seating was limited and the restaurant was spotless. We will definitely be back!

Sometimes when you go to a restaurant it’s about more than having a meal. So as my experience at Wanda J’s Next Generation soul food restaurant. Wanda J’s is located in the historic Greenwood District in Tulsa. Of course, this was the site of the Tulsa race massacre a century ago. As you approach the restaurant there are plaques in the sidewalk identifying countless businesses that were destroyed during the massacre. Then you arrive at Wanda J’s. A tiny building with big flavor. We tried chicken wings, pork chops with green beans, pinto beans and of course Mac and cheese. They were all delicious. The wings were only dusted with flour so they were relatively light and not greasy. The green beans had that tell tale flavor of pork making them tasty but probably not as lo cal as you might think. Overall we enjoyed the food and the sense of history.

I would give them 10 stars if I could. It was delicious. Everything was seasoned to perfection. I did not have a chance to try the breakfast but I am sure it is just a delicious as the lunch. The portion size and the prices are just right. You can not go wrong with this restaurant. The best part is you can support a small business and learn about a historic place. I can not wait to visit again.

Some of the best down-home cooking you can find in Tulsa. The atmosphere is cozy and feels like moms kitchen. The staff is super friendly and sweet! I had the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and cream gravy with collard greens. Everything was amazing! The chicken was tender and the potatoes were perfect. The collard greens are some of the best I've ever had! I can't wait to go back and try the meatloaf! Highly Recommend!

They accommodated our big group quickly and efficiently. We enjoyed the chicken fried steak, the chicken fried catfish and the best chicken 🤤 fried chicken ever! I loved the fried potatoes. I've never had them that way, it's always interesting when you can find a new way to enjoy potatoes, lol. Sides greet too, corn bread, candied yams we're my favorite but most loved the beans and corn!

I wandered in after a rainy July morning and had the tastiest veggie plate for $9. I haven’t had cabbage this good since grandma’s house!

The food was absolutely amazing! Since I fly free, (I am a Flight Attendant) I can’t wait to come back and tour BWS and stop in for another meal and to meet everyone at a slower pace. It was so busy on the BWS Anniversary (the line was out the door) I jumped in and started busting tables and was gratefully blessed with Peach Cobbler and a beverage. It was a pleasure to see generational success in spite of the BWS history. Wanda J’s is definitely worth it!

I was walking around the Greenwood district learning both the amazing and tragic history of the place, and asked a young woman at the cultural center where I should eat. She told me about Wanda J's so I drove two blocks down the street and walked in. Tiny place, friendly, and outstanding soul food. I had liver and onions, collard greens, and brown beans. Maybe the best liver and onions I've eaten (it had a brown gravy on it, which I've never had with liver). I promised them I'd be back next time I was in Tulsa.

The chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and white gravy along with mac and cheese is great. I could have shared it with my wife. The other picture is the 2 peace with fried potatoes and slaw. Both of us left happy and full. Price was$$$. FYI.
