Sloopy's Diner

There is a rule I have. If there is a place with a lot of pickup trucks in the parking lot at noon, go there.

Located just up the road from Eastman Chemical plant, it's your basic quick burger/ dog/ salad, etc joint. Small room with 11 tables and 6 stools at a counter.

Daughter and I both went with the Sloopy (made to order) cheeseburger (8 oz. vs. the regular 5 oz.) and it was truly outstanding.

Saw someone with a chili dog with more ground beef in the chili that liquid. I nearly changed my order on that sight alone.

Onion rings were darn near perfect.

Want fish tacos? They have them.

Burritos and quesadillas. Yes.

They also have a 2 lb burger challenge. 8 oz. Burger was plenty.

What a great local restaurant, this place has the best burgers in the Tri-Cities.

Freshly made and delicious food with good prices. My philly cheesesteak and crinkle cut fries were too much for me to eat. My husband got half of the sandwich. My daughter got a BLT had bacon perfectly cooked and three slices on each half of her sandwich. She also talked about how great lemonade was being the perfect balance of sweet and sour. Can't wait to come back and try their hot fudge cake!

Any time I find myself in Kingsport for lunch I do my best to make it to Sloopy’s. It never disappoints. I always get the Sloopy burger and tots!

I love Sloopy’s. I have ordered to go and everything was hot, fresh and delicious. We got the 8 Oz Sloopy cheeseburger, a Jalapeño Cheese burger and both were delicious. The burgers are seasoned well and the buns are good and don’t fall apart. We’ve also had the corn dog. My son had one and he loved it. It’s mostly dog and the breading isn’t too thick. I just can’t wait for the beans and cornbread! The drive thru is convenient too! The servers/owners are so friendly and welcoming. Inside the restaurant the decor is simple yet charming; it’s like stepping back in to a 60’s diner. The only negative I experienced is that the lemonade and tea (Arnold Palmer) was super sweet. Their onion rings and fries were delicious too. I highly recommend Sloopy’s.

The place was very clean. The person cleaning the tables didn't use the same dirty cleaning towel on every table. He used a fresh disinfectant wipe on each table. When given your order the cashier was very friendly and nice. The food was excellent. The only mistake that was made was the person that made my Burger put onion on my sandwich which I don't like onions. But it was no problem to fix. Other than that I will return. Oh I almost forgot I also ordered a chocolate milk shake as thick as possible. That was perfect.

Great little restaurant. We went for the first time today. Great fresh burgers and krinkle cut fries crisp to perfection. The staff is super friendly. Stop in for a bite you wont be disappointed I know we will be back!

Best old fashion Hamburger French fries it was served the way you wanted and it was hot so very good. And very clean place to go in to . I will go back.

Lady behind the counter was awesome! I feel bad that I didn't get her name to give her the praise she deserves. She did say she had been there the longest, if that helps. Burgers were juicy and cooked perfectly. The buns were so soft, yet held the burger and didn't get sloppy. Onion rings were amazing! Definitely coming back!

A quaint little place with nice staff and excellent hamburgers. The food made it worth the drive. The burritos looked amazing. I'll have to try those next trip.

Absolutely incredible one to one service with a smile and over the top engagement with all staff that I encountered. The food was delicious and made to perfection! I was given the opportunity to ask questions, which helped my dining experience be maximized! Kudos to you for making my first experience great!

The guy working was very nice and polite. This was our first time and they explained all the different food. The food was delicious and the pricing was very good. Because it was our first time they gave us a free fry for the next visit. The guy took out order and brought it to us. He cleaned up. He was very busy. This might be my new favorite place. They had a dip I really like. The Jalapeno cheese burger was very yummy.

It’s always a good day when I get the privilege to eat at Sloopy’s. It’s hometown goodness with a friendly staff that pay attention to detail.

The best burgers I've ever had. Every time I come back home from college, this is the first place I want to go to because of how good this place is. Nothing can top Sloopy's! The burgers, fries, and their tea are 5 Stars. Highly recommend to anyone who hasn't tried this place.

I came back to edit this review from a 4 to a 5 star. Lately I have been going to other places that serve hamburgers and fries and they may be good, but Sloopy's has one of the best cheeseburgers around and for a decent price. Try that new chicken restaurants burger and fries that just moved to memorial Blvd. and let me know the difference. Sloopy's has crinkle cut fries and all of the food is worth trying. The manager is beyond awesome and very helpful. Give it a try. Service is a 5, food is a 5 and atmosphere is also a 5.
