Affordable Suites of America Sumter

My stay was a very good one. Greg handled some hiccups with my booking and was able to iron everything out so very well. The housekeeping person was helpful to me as well when I asked for coffee filters that I couldn't find in my room.
I hope Greg gave me ideas of where to eat also.

The suite was exceptionally clean, stocked with essentials and staff were extremely courteous and kind. The property manager Greg and the housekeepers made us feel at home. I would definitely stay there again!

Service and cleanliness were great. Would stay here again (except the beds need to be better). The place could compete with the high end hotels only if they had beds that could give them the advantage.

You’ve got everything else right, just need Tha one element to take it to the next level. Get better beds.

I stayed here back in 2021-2022 for work, and could not have had a better experience and stay here. You will not find a more professional or nicer guy than Greg the property manager. The building and grounds are meticulously kept as Greg and his staff. They are all extremely friendly and really ensure that all guests are pleased with their stay. I cannot say enough good things about Greg, his staff and Affordable Suites of America. I hope to stay there again soon.

We stayed here for a few months while my husband began training at Shaw AFB, and we are already planning our next stay when we come back. The best part of this hotel is the manager, Mr. Greg. He cares deeply about taking care of guests and the hotel spaces, and it shows! He takes care of guest needs pretty much before they even arise, and the spaces are always so clean and tidy from Greg's hard work outside and the housekeeping ladies' efforts inside. It feels like family taking care of you. Every time we see Greg in the parking lot he always asks how we are doing and genuinely cares to do whatever he can to help out. Greg even stocks the rooms with pots, pans, silverware, cutting board, cops, plates and an ironing board and iron!

The room is the perfect size for my husband and I with a separated bedroom and living room/kitchen space. It's roomy enough that we don't feel squished together all the time. The kitchen area has a full sized stove, oven, fridge/freezer, microwave and a good sized sink. We cook most of our meals at home, and staying here we didn't miss a beat in our cooking routine, whereas in other hotels we would not have been able to do any of it. The weekly housekeeping services are wonderful, and they really go above and beyond in helping keep the space clean.

The area is quiet, there are several restaurants and a great grocery store less than 5 minutes away on Alice Drive, and it is only a 10 minute drive to Shaw AFB. This place is also just a few minutes from Palmetto Park, which is a great place to go walking and play tennis.

It has been a great experience staying here and we are excited to be back here next time we are in Sumter!

I was in a difficult situation and needed a place to stay. The manager of the Sumter location treated me as if I was his brother. He showed empathy and compassion toward me. He and his staff were just amazing during my stay. Everything was perfect. People come and go in our lives however, Greg is one person I will never forget. Thank you for everything my friend. We’ve just spend a year here at this extended stay and this place is awesome (initially planned on staying a few months but ended up needing to stay longer). Mr. Greg is an amazing manager. He’s friendly, helpful and made sure he took care of everything we needed. If there was a maintenance issue, he was on it. His housekeeping staff was wonderful.

As far as the property goes, the room was clean and a nice size for a one bedroom with a living room and full kitchen. There was a pullout couch in the living room for extra sleep space and a full size fridge and freezer in the kitchen with cups and utensils. It’s not far from base, across the street from the mall and just a little drive to Columbia and Florence

If I had to come back to Sumter to work or visit and needed temporary lodging, I’d definitely come back here.

Stayed for 6 months and Gregg, the manager, was very accommodating, not a bad place to stay and I didn’t not have any issues while I was there. Only downside was the main drag is close and on the weekends people run their cars full tilt down the street. Every hotel in Sumter is on the main drag though, so there’s no real way to avoid this.

I stayed at Affordable Suites today 02/17/2016 and other dates afterwards. Mr Greg sold me my room and he was very nice and made sure our needs were met. Mr Greg is a person that we need at all hotels and Suites. I have sent so much people from in town and out of town to stay there. Anything we needed we had on our rooms and I would definitely send more people to him. Great Job Mr Greg. Keep up good work.

I stayed at this location for four months. The room was very spacious and had all the amenities that I needed for an extended stay. The property manager was very attentive to all my needs. Any issues that I had were resolved in 24 hours or less. Housekeeping did an excellent job of keeping my room immaculate. The area is safe and quiet. It is also within 10 min of Shaw AFB.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Sumter location while on assignment for 4 months. It was a great experience as the beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean and had everything we needed (pots, pans etc). The manager, Greg, is a great guy who took care of any issue right away and even gave us a discounted rate since we were staying for an extended period of time. Greg also makes sure that no one sketchy stays on the premises. If we are ever back in Sumter, SC we will be sure to stay here.

Affordable Suites was our saving grace after PCSing to Sumter! We had no idea it would take OVER three months to get base housing! We only planned on staying at lodging, and it was hard to find anything available after we maxed out our days there. Luckily, Greg, the manager, had something for us just in time! I seriously thought we might have to sleep in the car! He and his staff were so kind and welcoming. Greg even gave me some good advice about resources on base. For the price, you really can’t complain because the location is great, it has all the essential amenities, free parking, house keeping, security cameras, friendly management, and AC! Totally unrelated, but Bakers Sweets is really good and just a couple minutes away. I’m thankful we found such Affordable Suites and would recommend it to anyone.

Hotel is a bit older but in good shape. Large rooms that have an actual oven in them is great for a long stay like ours. The beds are comfortable and the area is safe and quiet. Greg and the hotel staff here are great at their jobs. I'd recommend the Affordable suites over pricier hotels in the area.

My wife and I travel for a living and have never been treated better than at Affordable Inn & Suites. Spent 3 weeks there, Greg and his staff made us feel like family. Other hotels should take notes from this establishment. Clean, quiet, and professional.

Hidden Gem in Sumter!

For the first year of my time stationed at Shaw, I was in training for months at a time so I didn't want to commit to a lease until I was in the city permanently. That's where this gem of a hotel came into place. After staying two weeks in base lodging and dealing with a horrible bug problem I left one night because I couldn't take it anymore. My mom helped me find this extended stay hotel since it isn't one of the first hotels that Google populates.
From day one, I fell in love with the property and the manager Mr. Greg. He was retired military and always was so pleasant everytime he saw me. The property was safe, quiet, clean, and housekeeping consisted of the sweetest two ladies you ever wanted to meet. They were super honest too, I left a tip for housekeeping one time and when I returned, the money was nicely placed on the made up bed. Lol I had to call down and confirm that it was their tip before someone came back up to get it! I stayed in the hotel on and off for a total time of about six months in between trainings. My parents even came up to visit and Mr. Greg was so nice and accommodating even my dad didn't have a problem with me staying in a hotel that long. I recommend this hotel to every new PCS person I meet. I am thankful to have stumbled across this property and Mr. Greg. He made me feel safe staying at the hotel and made my first few months in a new place wonderful.

Very nice place. Very clean and quite. Manager Greg is very nice and attentive. He make sure your stay is great. I would recommend this place a 1000 times.

Clean, well equipped lodging/rooms. Greg, the onsite manager, is attentive to your individual needs and will accommodate to the best of his ability. Very military friendly. Best option for short-term lodging in Sumter, SC.

The owner is former military and is super helpful.

I stayed here back in the summer for a travel contract. This place had everything I needed. It had lots of room. This place even had great management.
