My absolute favorite hardware store in town! Always has a friendly and knowledgeable staff. Mostly have what I need and if they don’t they let me know and don’t waste my time. Gotta love the free popcorn and coffee. I’m glad they open at 7am now.

Went in there to buy a new set for my black stone and had a great experience a lady by the name of Shannon Bennett made me feel so welcomed and help me pick out the right things for my black stone I will definitely return

The Groom and sons in Athens is great they are helpful we tried putting in a rewards card they never did it but Athens did

I didn't like this place at first because I'm not much of a hardware person, but having gone here a lot for work and for my own house, I've gained a lot of appreciation for this store and their employees. They're usually very helpful and even when they don't have an item or don't know how to help you, they can set you out on the right path to find someone who does have what you're looking for in stock or someone who might be more specialized with your issue. I highly recommend them! There really isn't anywhere in town that is as efficient at what they do than them. You might find what you need at a place like Walmart, but they're not going to be any helpful when it comes to asking them about how to use that item. Save your gas, energy, and time at Walmart if you can find it at Groom & Sons'

Always top notch. Love the one in Maybank. Very knowledgeable staff unlike the employees in most box type stores. The guy over plumbing has forgot more then most plumbers ever learn. Its refreshing to have a business with this kind of experience and down home pleasant attitude.

The staff does their very best to help you find what you're looking for. And, they really step up if you're not sure what you need. The store kitty is such a sweetheart, she's awesome! Love to support our hometown people.

They unfortunately we're not able to meet my needs but that said it was not for lack of trying this is a great group of guys I would recommend them to anyone!

One of my favorite places to shop. The employees are very helpful and the store is clean, well organized and stocked. However the cashiers are not really all the friendly and most wont hold a conversation with you. A smile and a kind word goes a long way. Either way I still give it 5/5 ☆'s
