Padre South Hotel

We stayed on the 8th floor and we truly enjoyed the view and we used the kitchenette available in the room. We also like the pool area and the path straight to the beach and the outdoor showers were nice and clean. Will definitely stay again!!

I only been here twice, back in 2009 and now as of 2024 and it's still as good as I remember it. Some nice changes have been made since the last time and the view to the beach is still nice as I remember it. I definitely plan on returning for a stay here again when coming to SPI.

We enjoyed our stay at Padre South Hotel very much. Our kitchenette was just as advertised and for a good price for 9 nights. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. The hotel is kept very clean clean and fresh. We liked that we could have a full sized fridge, microwave, and a kitchen stove. Also the hotel is close to the beach, as advertised!

I want to share the wonderful experience I had while staying at Padre South Hotel. The staff was amazingly friendly, helpful, courteous and professional. Location is in a very good spot. Close to CVS, a couple restaurants, and a few places to rent golf carts to cruise SPI. Also having their own beach access, and having a public access made it much better. They also have a very good security system and procedures, that made our stay much safer and have us piece of mind. The room was awesome, and had a very good view of the beach. The hotel and the room were clean and overall very enjoyable to stay at. I would definitely recommend it and I would stay there again.

Enjoyed my stay at the hotel loved that it's very close to the beach; ocean view. Continental breakfast from 8am-10am, 100$ deposit left for any damages done. The staff was the best very welcoming and polite. The pool, kids pool and spa is very clean. Hated the walk thru through the maze, adults need to keep in mind it's a kids pool not a make out pool. Overall the best place to stay in SPI and enjoy with the family.

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel completely exceeded my expectations! Was my first time at south padre island and staying here made it all the more memorable! Had a beautiful view from the balcony outside my room and loved watching the sunrise every morning, has beach access, also has a pool and hot tub, continental breakfast on weekends, some of the cleanest and spacious rooms I've ever been in, conveniently located within walking distance of many delicious restaurants and attractions on the island, and most of all the very friendly and professional staff who helped make my stay a very memorable experience! I look forward to staying at Padre South next time and highly recommend to anyone staying on the island!

This is not a fancy hotel, but it's affordable and it's a great location and overall. It's a really good value.

If you're a frequent hotel goer, you probably won't be impressed. The rooms are dated with what seems to be some remodeling efforts, but overall, they're ok.. The staff was very nice and helpful, and the hotel is on the beach with direct access from the hotel. My overall experience was very good.

It's was awesome pool was clean Jacuzzi was perfect 😊 room was clean and comfortable

We reserved a 2 bedroom room for our family.
This is an older hotel but it's well taken care of and really nice for the age and price.

Some minor issues but easily remedied.

Previous person left bubble gum in toaster.
Dishwasher was out of order and 2 of the burners weren't working.

Aside from that the place is clean and well maintained with friendly staff.

Beach access is very close.

I really struggled choosing a hotel online. I reserved another hotel and after driving from Colorado I was so unhappy with that choice. I came here immediately and Tavo was so helpful. He found a room for my daughter and I during a busy holiday and saved the entire trip. Thank you so much. I loved the view from the Northside. I can not believe anyone writes anything bad about this gem. It was so clean inside and out. Great hot tub and deck. Elevators are fine. Yes they can be busy but there are stairs too. It’s not a brand new resort, but it’s charming, extremely clean and the staff are amazing. The rates are extremely fair. I can not wait to come back. I will only stay here in the future.

Don’t let other review here to fool you. This hotel is great. They have great location. We stayed here for 2 nights and we had great time at this hotel. They clean room and give you new Town every day. The pool is clean. They maintain and update hotel right now

Admittedly, this hotel is older and could use a face-lift. But, this hotel has location, location, location. Beachfront. Biggest complaint was that there was not breakfast, BUT out room had a full kitchenette with a stove. They even supplied all the pots, pans and silverware. One burner didn't work on the stove but other than that it was great. Balcony view was amazing. Hot tub and pool were great. Check in/out was easy and there wasn't an issue with parking.

This hotel is the place to stay if you want to be on the beach. All the rooms have a view of the gulf. Clean. The front desk workers were extremely nice and helpful. Will stay there again when we return!

I cannot complain about views this was beautiful. The place seems older need for sure some renovations but it give it it's character. The pool and jacuzzi perfect. Everything overall clean and was perfect for a mini vacation with my family.

Asked for some pans and they were brought over right away. The person helping me, also noticed a blanket that was old and brought me a new one. The next day, the cleaning crew came by and brought me fresh towels, coffee and more shampoo and soap. Everyone was very accommodating. I will always recommend this hotel, service and the people are excellent. Thank you!

Is an old place but it's great. They have breakfast only in the morning from 8:00 to 10:00 and on weekends only. I did not know that so next time I will probably look for a different place for during the week. They do serve coffee though. Also it's kind of great the breakfast. Anyways a lot of sweets. I will be going back to this place again if I have a chance unless I find somewhere better for the price. Although it really had everything I needed, it has a full kitchen and I had a two bedroom. The bedroom for the parents. The bed was super hard and I really hated it but it was a great view and a nice clean place so far.

My husband and I have a timeshare here. It is a one-bedroom efficiency we've had for over 40 years. It is great. Small, but has what we need. The staff are always pleasant and helpful. Great beach area and walkway with a tarp-style material to walk on. View is wonderful since it is beach side!

We knew going in it was an older hotel but the price was more than reasonable the beachfront location was awesome and the hot tub was the clincher for us. We were greeted warmly by a very nice young lady and were immediately at ease with her. She assured us we had a great room and we weren't disappointed. A beautiful southern view of the beach and you could just see SpaceX when the Sahara dust abated a little,lol. The room was very clean and had a full kitchen. Getting away for a romantic beach stay was our goal and we enjoyed some adult time in the jacuzzi. Some people insisted on breaking the no kids rule in the jacuzzi but security was very prompt in enforcing that rule .which we really appreciated. Kudos to your security force,good job guys.The entire staff was polite and friendly and ready to answer any questions. Maintenence was very diligent in cleaning up after folks on the pool deck and attending to the pools and jacuzzi. It was a pleasant surprise that it was a very quiet location and we had no trouble sleeping. Overall a great stay and we will definitely be back. Again, great job by the entire staff. Y'all have a great team. Thanks a million.
