Beautiful hotel. Love the vintage feel and flair. Everything was in good repair and clean. I stayed in the cabana room, which I do not recommend if you are a light sleeper and bothered by noise. I did eat breakfast at the restaurant which was good but could have been better for sure. Overall will stay again next time I am in the area.

The room was delightful! Larger than expected, 511 Superior King.
The dinner in The Steakhouse was fabulous!
Emma, our server was outstanding!
Breakfast in The City Cafe exceeded expectations!
We definitely will be back….and we don’t have to drive far!!

Went to Fredonia to have dinner with my wife today; 1-26-24. We purchased the TEXAS CHARCUTERIE BOARD, CHIPOTLE SALMON and KOREAN TACOS. The wife also had two beverages, MEXICAN MARTINI and CHARDONNAY. Total was approximately $74-$77 for the both of us not including tip. I later check my statement and to my surprise, I am being charged $144.86; nearly double the original total. After speaking to the manager the following day, Mike Garcia, noticed I was billed for the incorrect meal and made it right. Just letting this be known, CHECK YOUR STATEMENTS! Mistakes do happen!

A trip to Nacogdoches turned into a great travel experience. I discovered the Fredonia Hotel. Updated, clean, comfortable and a great staff. The room was very nicely appointed. Hannah at the front desk solved a minor issue with my original reservation with absolutely no complications. This is a terrific hotel.

I can’t say enough about the restaurant, The City Cafe, the food is excellent and the wait staff is terrific.

Lovely renovated downtown hotel. Has character and class. Would love to stay in warmer weather and enjoy the pools.

First stay since the renovation. Classy rooms, great service, and a very reasonable price tag combine into a strong recommendation. Seasonal cocktails at the bar, 2 pools, original dishes at both restaurants all caught our fancy.

This hotel is gorgeous! The entire hotel is so clean and very well taken care of. There are two beautiful pool decks, multiple restaurants, and a really nice bar. The beds are SO comfortable! I slept so well the two nights I stayed that I was practically dead to the world, and even though our room faced one of the pool decks, I couldn't hear a peep from outside my room! I will be staying here every time I visit Nacogdoches.

Absolutely brilliant hotel. Super clean and bang up to date. Beds are comfy and the rooms are well laid out and quiet.

The food is excellent, whether consumed in the restaurant or the lively bar. Seriously good quality and generous portions!

Service is beyond reproach. From a warm welcome at the front desk, to excellent food service.

I 100% recommend the Fredonia Hotel.

After I checked out they called and said they found a blanket I left in the room and I was still in the parking lot. The service is quick and friendly and I felt very welcome here.

We've stayed here before but this time we just went for breakfast at the 1st City Café. Wonderful food.

I was completely blown away by the service and quality of the hotel. The food and bar was amazing. If this hotel was in downtown Dallas I’d happily stay there again. The fact that it’s in the middle of nowhere in Nacogdoches Texas was mind blowing. Such an amazing experience and nearly makes me want to go back; if only the town itself had to offer more beyond this hotel and the brewery next door. 😂 if you find yourself in this town 100% don’t stay anywhere else.

Love the cool 50s vibe! What an amazing restoration and remodel maintaining the original architectural language of the building. This hotel would be booked solid everyday if it were located in LA, or Miami.

2 out of 3 meals were great. Third one did not meet expectations probably because our guest had eaten a different restaurants version of the dish she ordered and it wasn't the same. We still love First City Cafe!

The boutique Fredonia Hotel is a welcome reprieve from chain hotels, especially one one must travel through East Texas, and Arkansas. We’ve stayed three times in the last five years on our travels. All of the staff is surprisingly well trained in service, from the restaurant to the front desk to the separate steak house that is on the property. We stay in the tower, not poolside, so can only speak to those rooms. The decor iis still comfortable and special at the same time. Someone did a remarkable job of updating & refurbishing this 1950’s era hotel. Tips: cozy corner king has more windows than the more expensive larger king. Rooms still mostly up to par with their prices. Only downsides are that wood bedside table needs a new topper and that the coffee machine is a bit inconvenient in the closet and must be moved; unknown where the ice machine is but the cold water in the beverage refrig ameliorates that. Great solutions in the rooms for luggage and surfaces. Some streaming apps available. Lovely lobby with terrazzo; convenient bar on site; great coffee in restaurant. Sunday breakfast seemed heated up & meh but other breakfasts and dinners were great with some local specialties and unique dishes. It appears to be a hit with locals and they should take pride in this welcome local boutique offering. The old cool mixed with the well done new interior design are fun. Walkable to curio type shops on cobblestone street old downtown. We also found this last visit that it’s walkable to a park. I wish they’d get the bottom sheets fitted or on tighter. I wish they had some softer pillows. I wish the room windows’ exterior were cleaned. No matter, this hotel is a must for us anyway still when traveling near the area. Great playlists in the restaurants usually, too.

Absolutely love this hotel. We booked a room for my hubby's birthday and our anniversary. The rooms are a nice size. The bed was to die for. But let me tell you about the shower. It's a walk in glass shower. The shower head was just the right height and had good hot water. Everybody was so nice and helpful

The cabana rooms are really neat. There is access to the pool and to outside parking. The Republic Steakhouse is a wonderful spot for fine dining and the other restaurant and hotel bar are also very good.

Had dinner in the restaurant. The biggest chicken fried steak I’ve ever seen! The waiter asked if we wanted to split one when ordering, which I thought was mildly presumptive until I saw our plates. Safe to say we both had leftovers.

Fairly prompt service. Music was a little loud but we were near a speaker. Clean, unique, interesting mix of modern meets piney woods.

I hesitated to write this review because I jealously want to keep this gem to myself. I travel all the time for leisure and business and this is now my favorite hotel experience in Texas! Everything here was fantastic; the front desk was friendly and took genuine care in helping me choose a room that matched my preferences, the lobby and restaurant decor somehow feels simultaneously fresh and vintage 1950's, my room had a perfectly appointed spa shower and the luxe quality of the pillows and sheets was a surprise for what was such a reasonably priced local stop. Just a couple steps from my door was an adorable bird's nest fire pit and quiet turquoise-sparkling pool area that I had to myself to dip my feet in the pool and then warm up by the whimsical retro 50's lawn furniture. And the food - I loved how all the menu items have a home-made local flavor, Texas interpretation. I recommend the chicken cobb salad because the crispy candied(?) bacon lardons, roasted corn, jack cheese, ripe avocado and perfectly seasoned grilled chicken really made a pedestrian safe-choice lunch item next level. I had planned to go out for dinner, but the room service tempted me since lunch was so great. The staff was sweet to even assist me in ordering an item not on the room service menu. I had the lemon chicken, garlic mash potatoes and sauteed green beans. The lemon and garlic sauce drizzled over elevated everything. The decor of the room was lovely in each detail from the retro chartreuse velvet bolster pillow which matched the artwork, to the old-fashioned dressing table with nicely lighted oval mirrors. The room was a perfect fusion of nods to the 50's period, but with some luxe updates for comfort. I can't believe this little boutique gem was at such a great price point! If you are a traveler like me, who is often suspicious of a local inn and often stays in the big name branded properties just to avoid an uncomfortable experience, THIS is the soothing departure you seek.

Went to the lobby restaurant for lunch last Sunday. It isn't very often that a person gets to say this but it was a perfect dining experience. The ambiance of the hotel is a charming mix of 50's elements and modern. The service was prompt and courteous. The chairs comfortable and the outdoor pool area beautiful. Then there is the food. Shared 2 entrees and a desert, all of it just fantastic. Very generous portions arranged delectably on the plate. Unique flavours, it was not a meal that one could have gone down the street and gotten just anywhere. If you are tired of green beans and chicken fried steak, longing for a reasonably priced yet expertly crafted dining experience in a gorgeous setting then this should be the very next place you try. Can't wait to go back to try the other amenities of this historic hotel!
