We stayed at The Brickhouse Inn at the same time as the reviewer who gave them 2 stars. Our experience was far different than theirs. The hosts were welcoming and "folksy". We thoroughly enjoyed visiting with them. The bedroom was quite large and the bathroom was exactly what one would expect in an older historic home. The breakfasts were delicious with generous portions and were obviously homemade. As for the hosts not allowing guests to bring people back to the house, we have stayed at many B&Bs and this is a standard rule. I'm sorry the other couple didn't enjoy their stay, but I am rather confused by their harsh review as we spent time visiting them for both of the mornings we were there and they gave no indication that they were displeased. We will definitely stay at The Brickhouse Inn again.

The Brickhouse Inn has become my home away from home. I first stayed in November 2016. The Nortons were so friendly and welcoming that I have returned weekly as my job brings me to Nacogdoches. I have stayed in each of the three rooms and each bring its own character and ambiance to the overall environment. Over the year and a half, the Prince Room has become my room and I absolutely love it.

I have eaten both dinners and breakfasts and can say without a doubt that Anne is a fabulous cook/chef. In actuality, there is so much food prepared that I always have a snack to carry me through my day at work. I have seen her accommodate not only my strawberry allergy but other guests requests or needs. The snack fridge is stocked with crackers, sodas, waters, and juices for any in-between times. David always has fresh tea along with a story and laugh for me. He usually meets me at outside when I arrive as if I hadn't been there in ages. The couples son, David, who lives there and also host ensures that I feel at home sharing many a meal and conversation.

I originally chose a B&B for the security when traveling alone and my love of historical homes. I have continually chosen the Brickhouse Inn because of the family who have opened their home and hearts to me.

We've been B&Bing for the last 30 years and have never found a more hospitable residence. Staying with Anne and David at The Brickhouse Inn is like staying with close friends. They exude hospitality and provide THE BEST breakfasts. The rooms and decor set the tone and allow one to travel back in time. A truly wonderful B&B to experience. When you stay there, ask to visit Logan and Godfrey.

The Brickhouse Inn has to be one of the most welcoming places I've ever stayed. The bedrooms are all very charming, neat, and comfortable. The food is homemade, fresh and absolutely wonderful, and it's not far at all from Downtown nacogdoches. I've come back multiple times and it's absolutely exquisite.

CHARMING!! The most beautiful and oldest brick home in East Texas. I felt I had stepped back in time to the early 1800's. Such a gorgeous location and wonderful kind and caring hosts. The food was amazing as well. I will definitely be going back. I LOVE this bed and breakfast! My favorite!

Beautiful, charming spot. Stayed a night in the king room- slept so well I could barely wake up! Comfy bed and great big pillows. Due to this I skipped breakfast but my friend who was able to join the hosts said it was amazing. Would definitely stay here again next time I pass through town.

The house is charming and filled with traditional old family New Orleans style. The food is tastefully presented and the flavor is excellent. The stay is a restful experience that can't be compared to chain establishments.

I feel I must speak out against the poison-pen reviews posted by Kelli Mellema and her husband, and remind them that a published false statement that is damaging to a person's reputation; a written defamation, is libel.
I have worked for over 20+ years in the Hotel & Resort Industry, and I was the "young man that came rushing out." (I am 44 years old) Yes, I did inform them that I was running late - I was in a performance at our local live theater, Lamp-lite Theatre, but I did NOT say you can park anywhere - I explained they could park on the hill, or turn around on the hill and park on the far-side of the driveway. Given my parents' accommodations of only three guest rooms - assigned parking is quite ludicrous.
My parents usually do not have family visit when they have paying guests, but it was Mothers' Day weekend and the last weekend of my performances in The Secret Affairs of Mildred Wild at Lamp-lite.
Also, I have stayed in my parents' Prince Room in the past when I wasn't living in Nacogdoches, and I am over 6' tall and never had to hold onto the sink to use the toilet in that room - that claim is preposterous.
After perusing Ms. Mellema's numerous other scathing reviews, it seems she is quite fond of trashing other businesses. And I have to strongly disagree with her take on reviews. Leaving a bad review is the course of one that did not get results after informing the business of their dissatisfaction - she never did that - my parents never heard her or her husband utter a peep of complaint -- nor did my sister and nieces, nor the other guests. I also have to point out that my sister spoke with Ms. Mellema's husband and asked him how everything was - he replied that everything was fine.

Quaint and comfortable, reasonably priced and easy to deal with. Run by very friendly and relatable folk whose recommendations (Dolli's, Nacogdoches Auction) proved spot on. A couple of people have posted negative reviews here but you will also notice an overwhelming majority of favorable ones... occasionally travel plans turn out disastrously and this site only reviews hotels, not their guests. The accusations in question don't sound consistent with our experience. Website wording and parking demarcation? Please.

Delightful time with David & Anne Norton - the owners of The Brickhouse Inn. Anne is a wonderful cook - breakfast was scrumptious.
