Onions Pub and Restaurant

First time diners here. Reviews were good, so decided to give it a try. Nice homey atmosphere. We ordered the following - Chicken Cordon Bleu, Shrimp Alfredo, Fried Haddock, and the Short Rib (pictured). Food was excellent all around. Service was very good as well. Would like to try this place in the summer as they also have dining outside on their porch. Parking is limited in front of the restaurant, but there is an available lot just around the corner, so no worries there.

Shared a birthday dinner with some friends from out of state. We were excited to show them a local staple and it didn't disappoint, as usual. The menu is full of amazing food, the staff is always friendly and personable. A must try if you are in the area.

Onions is my wife and my favorite anniversary place, we come every December 23 and today is Saturday, and they had a good crowd and had a piano player in the pub. We were in the dining room and started with scallops wrapped in bacon, DELICIOUS!! I forgot to get a picture of my stuffed haddock but you can see from my picture I was loving it!! Cheryl is great and we are happy to see her each anniversary! Oh we had tiramisu for dessert, yummy!!

My wife and I went to Onions for dinner last night and were pleasantly surprised. We had been there a few years ago for apps and drinks back but we didn't think to go back there for dinner. We sat in the bar area and the atmosphere was cozy with a young man playing piano. Our server was attentive and pleasant and our meals arrived promptly. My wife had the Cajun fish tacos, which she really enjoyed. I ordered the braised beef shank and it was the best I have ever had. It was a large shank perfectly done with fresh ginger on top and potatoes and root vegetables. As we ate, I noticed that half of the other people in the restaurant had also ordered the beef shank and I now know why. I will definitely be back and I know what I will be ordering when I do.

If you are the type of person that is looking to get a bunch of food cheap or 2 meals for the price of 1 then this isn't your place. BUT if you are looking for some of the best tasting food and drinks you will ever have and appreciate good quality proper portioned meals, then this is your place. I went here with a couple friends for the 1st time. I had linguine with clam sauce and jalapeño poppers. Both dishes were excellent. I was so impressed that I took my fiance there again 3 days later. This time I had shrimp scampi, wings, scallops wrapped in bacon, corned beef and cabbage soup and a margarita. Nothing to complain about as the food was great.

We started going here for our anniversary dinner last year after moving to the area. We had such a delightfully delicious meal here last year that we decided to go again. We were not disappointed. My husband and I both love scallops and often only order them from places we know do them justice. We both decided to order them this night--Onions did not disappoint! They were delectable --the entire meal was. And the staff was top notch, the restaurant atmosphere was as warm and inviting as last year, and I personally love their holiday decorations. We have decided to make this our go to restaurant for our anniversary, but we will be sure to visit again prior to then!

First time visiting Onions and we had an Awesome Experience! Our meals were delicious and perfect portions! Our waitress, Jessica, was Very nice, personable and attentive! We will definitely be going back soon!

Stumbled upon this place while working out here from out of town. I went in shortly before close with not super high expectations. It was fantastic. The ahi app was incredible and better than other ahi I’ve paid 4x the price for. The stuffed haddock was great too and also fairly priced. Great experience.

Onions Pub is a gem! Food is fresh, made in house and top quality. Great prices and value for what you get. Portions are big. Absolutely delicious. We had the jalapeño poppers, onion rings and the seared scallop pasta special, my husband had the Caribbean salad and the Salmon. Scallops were huge and cooked to perfection. I wished they shipped to Ontario!!!

We had a great experience at Onions Pub and Restaurant. Our server Meredith was fantastic she was right on it bringing drinks apps and dinner. The Bruschetta moly had 2 pieces but was very good. The side salad was not small but could use some onions. Our drinks margarita and dark and stormy were very good. Our dinners baked scallops, chicken tenders and bangers and mashed were all very good overall we had a great experience, great food and exceptional service thanks Meredith.

I had the ruben sandwich and it was fabulous! Perfectly grilled as it should be, with the cheese melting into the meat on one side and the sour kraut on the other side. The server was very accommodating, letting me switch the French fries to their sautéed veggie mix! I left happy and full.

This place was an amazing find! The salad was amazing! It had your usual ingredients but also had brocoli, yellow squash, radish, etc. So many vegetables. My husband got the salmon which he devoured. I went old school and got fish and chips, it was so good and I had leftovers. The bar area is beautiful with lots of woodwork. I want to go back and try other items.

This was an amazing experience! If you want great food, attentive, knowledgeable staff, an atmosphere that can't be beat and a very interesting history, Onions is the place for you. As a foodie, I obviously love food, and dine out as often as possible. This is without a doubt my new favorite restaurant. We will be going to Onion's on a regular basis! There are many more menu items to try. I definitely recommend the British Fish and Chips and the Chicken Parm. The folks at Onions crushes it. 10 out of 10!

First time here, on a whim while traveling the New England states for mine & my husband's 30th wedding anniversary. The food was fantastic! Service was great! Ambience was awesome. Glad we decided to have dinner here. Will not be disappointed.

The menu is extra ordinary with entrees for any taste. Fresh home cooked meals make us want to return another time.

Super food!

OMGoodness! I don't even know where to start. I give Onion's a solid 10+ out of 10. I don't understand how it's such a well kept secret. The food was done to perfection, the Staff were friendly, knowledgeable and extremely attentive. The atmosphere /ambiance are a very positive vibe, a comfort thing I haven't felt in years. The history of both Onion's Pub and Tilton Inn are long and rich and include a ghost.
This is not fast food, but if you have the time and a love of fine dining in a relaxed atmosphere, Onion's is a place to try!!!

The food was outstanding! The Bartender Jessica was very personable and was very attentive. Will definitely be making this a regular spot!!

Great historic restaurant in Tilton! Had nicely marinated steak tips cooked to perfection:) Onion soup was great as well. Will definitely be stopping by soon.

Family gathering, seven of us. We had a wide variety of meal choices from a simple cheeseburger to linguine with clam sauce, beef Wellington, scallops ... service was excellent. We had a few minor oopsis at the table, spilled water, spilled drink, dropped appetizer. All quickly and efficiently handled by several staff including the owner. Everyone was positive and helpful and smiling

I got the bangers and mash and was so pleased with my meal. The owner sources British sausage specifically for this dish and it had a crispy skin and was extremely flavorful. I could not get enough of the mashed potatoes and gravy.. I almost asked for a spoon so I would leave no trace on the plate. Service was awesome. Would absolutely come here again, consider making reservations as they can get pretty busy, even during a week night.
