Bonanza Flat Trailhead

Majestic views of the mountains and fall foliage. The trailhead is between Park City and Brighton in Utah. The Aspen trees were a combination of green, yellow, and red and very beautiful. The photos do not do justice to the scenery. Just plan a trip and enjoy the experience for yourself. You cannot get there during certain times of the year due to the elevation being above 8,000 feet. Enjoy the mountain air!

Went up Cottonwood canyon to Donut Falls only to discover dogs are banned, which makes sense considering the water situation here in Utah. So, continued up through Guardsman's Pass and found this beauty of a hiking spot on the Park City side welcoming dogs with leashes and very nice bags to pick up dog deposits if necessary. 10 to 20 degrees cooler than in the lower valleys at close to 8,000 ft elevation I think. Great place apparently for family and wedding pictures later in the day with lighting and shadows, I saw maybe 4 or 5 family groups and couples. Louie, my fawn Doberman, loved it and loved meeting people. Watch out for Mountain Bikes on the trail, also looks like a fun place to do that, just be careful around blind corners for good trail etiquette and safety, especially with dogs.

An easy trail to do and it looked amazing in fall

Great spot for a few different activities. You can start a day of mountain biking, hiking, or just hang out and enjoy the views. We spent the evening there relaxing and watching the colors change as the sun set.

I am so glad we preserved this space!!! Being 29 at this time, I didn't contribute much when it was being preserved against development. I'm happy that is was saved; I'm enjoying it now.
