Best homemade food in diner. Breakfast is incredible!. Worth the stop!. Portions are good sizes. I was very satisfied! Great tasting GRILLED homefries, HOMEMADE toasts, perfect to order eggs, etc. lots of places are declining BUT NOT HERE. THANK YOU EVERYONE for great service and great food.

Whenever I head to Houlton for I always make it a point to stop in for a meal. I've been there dozens of times over the years. I've never had a bad servicer or a bad meal. I can't recommend this place enough!

Stayed 2 nights while looking at properties in the area. Ate at the diner one morning. Room was clean and well maintained, basic but very acceptable. Location right off 95 is a plus. Restaurant is a typical diner type spot. Breakfast came out quickly and hot. Server was bit gruff but cant judge on a single visit. Place has an entryway, then a gift shop (al la Cracker Barrel) then the dining area. I have to believe the gift shop sq footage would better utilized as additional tables, but maybe that would overload the kitchen...just an observation.

Any time I'm in the area I eat at Brookside! The food is delicious and the staff is friendly.

This place is amazing. Walking in it's a little shop full of unique Maine souvenirs. Many sweet and sour treats such as fudge and pickled items. Staff and food were above and beyond my expectations. Fresh baked bread, mile high layered homemade cakes, pies, and muffins. The chicken cranberry salad was a refreshing treat after a long day and the garlic bread was perfection! The meatloaf was also wonderful! This is a hidden gem of Maine and must visit spot for all 🥰 kid-friendly, no alcohol 👍
Worth the drive

The Best food within 100 miles of Smyrna, Maine! All you can eat fish fry on Fridays. Delicious!

Stayed overnight because I was tired of driving and it was a stones throw off 95. The food was so delicious and portion sizes are outta this world. As my Gram would say, if you left hungry it was your own fault. And themotel room was bright cheerful and inviting. The water pressure was phenomenal. Only recommendation I would add is bring soaps and shampoos. The stocked ones are good, but not if you have any type of textured hair or dry skin issues. Will definitely be coming back!

Super clean and comfortable rooms! Owners are on-site and very accommodating! We'll be back to try the restaurant; everyone in town raves about the delicious food!

My wife and I stopped there for lunch today. Our server was very pleasant and served us quickly. The food was fantastic and she was attentive to our needs. My wife had a pop over for dessert that she said was fabulous. Certainly a pleasant place to stop off north 95.

This restaurant is fabulous! Small, hometown feel, great food, friendly staff. We had blueberry pancakes, homemade cinnamon swirl toast, homemade oatmeal toast, eggs, bacon, ham and sausage. All of it was delicious. We will be back the next time we are traveling through.

Best breakfast ever! Homemade cinnamon swirl bread made into french toast. Deeeelish! I asked for strawberries and whipped cream on top and I was not disappointed. The strawberries were in a syrup-y awesome as and the cream was fresh and perfect. Home fries are their potatoes, and again, fresh and perfect!

What a find. Katherine our server was cheerful and attentive. The Reuben sandwich and an order of onion rings was more than enough to share with my husband. Great atmosphere with lots of locals who frequent here often. We are just passing through and are grateful to have found it.

The food was great that was served. We were not aware that toast no longer comes with breakfast. That was a surprise. The coffee although fresh was Luke warm and very weak. We ate here alot before Covid. First time back in 2 years.

Been going to Brookside for breakfast the past 7yrs. Always friendly & fast!! Cinnamon bread amazing. Never had a bad meal very tasty!! If you order an omelette I suggest sharing as the portion is quite large cooked to perfection!!!

Very nice diner with indoor and outdoor seating. They have a good bakery menu with muffins to pies. Clean, with good, timely service.

Next time we came it was for lunch. The options range from sandwiches to dinners. Everything tasted very good and service was friendly.
