Whispering Oaks Campground

Our cabin, and the bathhouse were very clean! Cabins have log furniture with nice porches. Nicely lit pathways with spring flowers all around. Nice playground for the kids. Grounds are well-kept. Rates are extremely reasonable. I highly recommend.

The cabins are comfortable, shower areas are clean, the owner is extremely helpful and kind, and it's only a five minute drive away from Pere Marquette. I'm already planning next year's trip here!

I have been coming up to the area ever since i was a small child and know the area very well. N I decided i needed a night away from everyone and rented a cabin here. It was excellent the cabin was large and had a/c fridge microwave and comfortable beds. the bath house was great very clean, hot water. The owner popped by while i was at picnic table outside and said hi and chatted for a bit. Very friendly, great atmosphere , very clean and a great rate i will be staying here when im in town and need to get away from all the extended family….which is at least twice during a visit.

I spent 5 days here relaxing in one of the cabins. My stay was here was extremely relaxing. George the owner is a very nice guy and he has some really great seasonal campers here as well. They were all very welcoming. The campground is very clean and well kept. Showers and bathrooms were some of the cleanest I have ever seen. This was my 1st time here and it definitely won't be my last.

Great campground. Spotless shower house and laundry room. Game room and WiFi were a bonus. Wonderful owner - George went out of his way to find space for us when our itinerary changed literally at the last second. The grounds are a bird watcher’s dream, at least 20 different species visited our site! But beware if you have respiratory issues: Seemed like almost everyone in the seasonal row was a smoker, and smoking seems to be what they go to camp to do.

Great place! Comfy and cozy cabins, hot showers, easy access to the roadway for ATV/ORV trail access. We parked the truck all weekend and rode the dirt bike and quad to all the trail heads. It was fun riding to get food and ice cream. Staff were very friendly and helpful! Explained the trail map system and offered assistance as needed. We will be staying here again!!

Made reservations for family of 5 in one of there cabins.Was very impressed with the cabin. Nice and clean. The bathrooms/showers were extremly clean as well. Highly recommended!!

Passing through on way back to Alabama to fish the Perre Marquette for half day, ended up spending three nights in cabin. Called late every day we decided to stay (after closing), by the time we'd arrive at night they'd turned on a/c and fridge. Great folks and great accommodations. I'd do more than 5 + stars...

I've stayed here a couple times now. Beds are comfortable. Baths and showers clean. Laundry if you need it and so close to the water. Owners are friendly and found us a place, even when they were booked. Thank you for making our trip a great time, by giving us a good nights sleep.

Rented a cabin for two nights. The cabins were clean and orderly. The bathroom might be one of the cleanest I've ever seen in a campground. The management has a lot of rules posted but that's what you have to do if you want visitors to respect the place. Overall, great campground.

We had a group of families totaling 27 people ages 15-50. We had a great time at Whispering Oaks Campground. The owner, George, is very accommodating, friendly, and helpful. The sites are good size and the we also rented two cabins which are very nice. The cabins had heat and air (both were needed on this trip), microwave, mini fridge and a tv I believe. Beds were comfortable and plenty of room in cabin. Great value! The entire place and bathrooms were very clean. Never had to wait for a shower or bathroom. The volleyball court was nice sand. We had the use of the pavilion also which was great for our group to play cards and eat together. It has lights so we could continue after dark. Location of the campground was great for canoeing the Pere Marquette River also. Baldwin Canoe Rental was just barely 1/4 mile away and the drop into the River was maybe another 1/4 mile. I read another review for this campground having a rec room...not sure what they meant. There was a small game room (never saw anyone in it) and then the outdoor pavilion. I think that person may have been camping the same time as our group. We were having fun but all was quiet by 11:00 pm. We will definitely be going back next year. We've camped together as a group for several years, this was one of the best campgrounds we've stayed in. Highly recommend!

Had a great time camping here over 4th of July this year! We were the only tenters lol. Very quiet area and all the RVs surrounding us were so nice and helpful. Everything you could need store or activity wise was within a 10 minute drive so it worked out perfectly. I would definitely come back!

I've camped at Whispering Oaks off an on for over a year. It is a very quiet camp ground with extremely clean bath rooms, nice cozy cabins and nice clean camp sites. The owner sells nice dry oak fire wood with free kindling, so camp fires are easy to start. The camp store has things to eat and drink and camping supplies if you forgot to bring something. I highly recommend camping at Whispering Oaks. Bob

The campground is clean and well kept. The cabins are so cute, comfortable, close to fish and not far from Lake Michigan! It was a wonderful little getaway!

**EDIT FROM PREVIOUS REVIEW** New owner who doesn't seem to try and keep an eye on campers and they are very friendly. Review changed from 4 stars to 5. Campground is still great and a good value, just hope the firewood gets dried out a little before next time we stay....

You simply cannot beat the price and location for fall fishing. We have stayed here for over 10 years every year and George does a fantastic job. I have told many people about this campground.

We visit the area on an annual basis. We always stay in the cabins. Bedding and towels are provided. Quiet every time we've stayed. We will continue to return.

Had a great stay. Owner was very friendly and helpful. Bathroom and showers were cleaned daily. Would recommend to everyone.

This is one of the nicest, CLEANEST place we have been at. George the owner was friendly and very helpful on how to get to the trails. We will definitely be staying again.

This was a nice quiet campground with nice restrooms and showers.
