Wakai's Asian Fusion

Ordered the fried rice with shrimp, orange chicken, pot stickers, and chicken rolls. All of it tasted amazing and the spice was just right. Service was great and food was super fresh.

Food was amazing! Great selection of Thai food. We got the House Special Fried Rice, Sesame Chicken, Pad Thai, and Sea of Fusion. Can’t go wrong with any of these dishes they were delicious!! Customer service was excellent! Lady in the front is super sweet!!

The vegetable egg rolls are so good! Our food was hot and fresh when we dined in we loved it so much we went back the following week. The second time we were very disappointed with our food. The food was flavorless and cold. Our egg rolls were still frozen we asked for a refund and the owner gave it back.

We got the sesame chicken, tofu nuggets, and the yellow curry with basil. Some of the best food we’ve had in Mankato. Happy for the new ownership and that Mankato now has a great Thai option!

Best Asian food in Mankato. The egg rolls are crispy and full of glass noodles and meat. Always get the house fried rice and the curry is to die for! We always get fresh, hot food. We drive from hilltop over to campus past other Asian restaurants for this.

So yummy! Finally found some Thai food in this town. Every dish we've had has been amazing! Thom yum and the other soup are both delicious! Best crab wontons I've ever had and the veggie egg rolls were perfect. The mild spice level works for me but not my kiddos so much but they like the appetizers.

I used to work here and heard they reopened so I stopped by. I was surprised to see new ownership and I love how fresh and spacious Wakai’s feels again. The food is amazing and I can’t wait to try them all. The customer service is amazing! The owners are very friendly and I would love to come back here again!! Although they don’t have what the old Wakai’s had I hope people give them a try.

I heard this place had new management and was skeptical on how good it would be, but I have to say I am impressed! Even though menu is different…the food is amazing! And very welcoming service…definitely will be back to try all the other items! 👍👍

Highly trained in a variety of East Asian cuisine, including Thai and central and eastern Chinese, this cook knows his stuff! I've experienced their struggles with staffing, but it's a shame a lot of the poor reviews are simply due to them not being open, because that does not reflect on the flavor of the food.

As far as pad Thai and drunken noodles go, I give them 8 out of 10. Tasty and hearty. Good sized portions. The wok dishes are fantastic with a Thai flare, especially the massaman curry that gets a 10/10! If you want to try a tremendous variety of authentic and unique Eastern curries, this is one of the best restaurants in Minnesota in which to do so.

It was unique, fresh and flavorful, and that's what look for. I do recommend going the fusion route and adding different sauces, without it might be more bland. But the fusion flavors were just what we were looking for.

I took my sister to this restaurant when I was looking around for something new to try. We tried several dishes off the menu and my sister looked at me and said “This is the best Asian food I have ever had!” and I agreed. The seasonings in each dish hit all sorts of tastebuds. I’ve been back 4 or 5 times since and will continue to recommend your food ! It’s been amazing every time. Thank you 😊

Didn't expect much but the food is really, really DELICIOUS. We had Hmong sausage and beef ribs with sticky rice. The sitting area is spacious with booths on the side.

First time back since new management took over. I was really pleased with everything I got! The veggie egg rolls were crispy and fresh, the Pad See-Ew was great as well. I got it with tofu and the tofu had a wonderful crust but was perfectly soft on the inside. I asked for mild spice and I feel like that delivered. The Thai iced tea was sweet and refreshing as well. Will definitely be going back!

I had to take time to leave a review. This is by far the best Thai food that my wife and I have had in MN. The service was excellent and the food... OMG. We started off with the app sampler. It was excellent with the Chicken Rolls being the stand out surprise. We go 3 entrees. The Sea of Fusion may be the best Thai dish I've ever had. If you are a fan of Thai, don't walk, run to Wakai's

This place is amazing, the food is delicious and has great flavor. The thai tea is really nice, all of the appetizers are great, the curry rice is a standout. I would personally most recommend the seafood soup, the broth especially is bursting with flavor, with a perfect balance of spicy and sour, and the shrimps in it are delicious!

Food was good, each dish came with a lot of food, which I was surprised by. The crab rangoon was absolutely phenomenal. They were hot and fresh. Between my friend and I it was about $50, but we both had six crab rangoons each, and were able to make 2 meals for each of us out of the rest, easily.

I felt compelled to write a review after how amazing our meal was!! We had the peanut curry noodles with beef and green curry with chicken - and they are both out of this world good!! I’m looking forward to trying the rest of the menu.

It doesn’t get better than this place in Mankato, coming from large cities where access to good food from restaurant is at easy access, this place saved my tastebuds while living in Mankato. Generally most restaurant in Mankato really lack on their flavor count, but you won’t have a problem here. My all time favorite is the PadThai. I would literally come back to Mankato just for the pad Thai! And when I order it extra spicy, they bring the heat. Which was suchhhh a blessing. While living there, ethnic food supplies for cooking are hard to access. But they really bring the flavor here with a bang. Go go goooo!!! They are life saving!!

So far I have tried 2 things on the menu, generals chicken and crab rangoon. Both were very good. Quality of food was amazing! I am looking forward to trying many more things off of the menu. Not sure if sushi is done "bar" style or prepared in back with the rest of the food but I am hoping to be right up front. That is something that needs to be flaunted.

Friendly staff and amazing food! I've tried almost everything on the menu and have yet to find something I don't like

Update: I just tried their new sampler of California rolls and I thought they were great. Definitely will be getting the sushi again!
