I've been just about to every common man and this place is breath taking, the manager was first to great and made sure my son and I had everything we needed . And the waitresses were excellent, there was one in training and wish I could remember her name. The service was excellent, and the manager , after having a great chat with give us dessert on him . With the dam and rapids right out the window and the whole scene was spectacular. If if your nit in the area it's worth the trip from anywhere

Grilled peach salad, juicy smokehouse burger, free bread and crackers with different dips at the snack station towards the front. Enjoyed coloring on the paper table cloth while we waited for our food. Solid beer selection. Waitress was awesome. In and out without a wait. Just got done raining or else we would've loved to have been able to sit outside the mill building and enjoy our dinner (peaceful pretty view of the river).

This place is awesome. Great ambiance. Warm and inviting, we wish we booked a room at the hotel if it was anything like the restaurant. Hostess and waiter were very personable. Now into the important part. The food… self service cheese and cracker bar with local cheese. Get the dinner rolls, think cheesy garlic bread soft buns. We want to go back specifically for these rolls.. The meals were done perfectly with high quality ingredients for a reasonable price. Overall 6/5 stars. Side note, we enjoyed the personal touch of being able to draw on the table with crayons.

Had a lovely dinner here. Such a cute and cozy atmosphere. I only wished I had also booked a room as well. The hostess and waiter were both very friendly and attentive. I especially loved the cheese and cracker bar. Don’t forget to order the rolls too. They were fabulous! Lots of great menu choices at reasonable prices. Looking forward to returning again soon!

We love the atmosphere, staff and delicious food. My husband's cousin is a bartender there. She is a very good bartender and coworker. They were short handed, like everyone these days. They were still friendly , caring and open with us. We love this restaurant! The food and service are very welcoming. Its a treat to eat here!

Such a lovely aesthetic throughout this restaurant. Kind of has an old renovated barn feel but so well done , very clean, with large wooden beams, and brick. Surprised they don’t charge more money for their dishes. They even have a gluten-free menu. You even get crayons for the tablecloth. Can’t wait to go back!

Great service, delicious food and an amazing atmosphere. We came on Mother’s Day and the food and drinks were delicious! They even gave me a flower for Mother’s Day which I thought was a nice touch! We will definitely be back!

This place is a mainstay on our trips to the Northeast. The hotel is amazing, more on that in another review.
The restaurant has a great, relaxed ambiance. Low lighting, beautiful views of the Sugar River, and an eclectic menu. I'll share more pictures later, but I'll start with the complimentary bread. Homemade rolls and fresh peach bread make for a bread lovers dream come true.
The starter of creamy cheesy, bacon and caramelized onion dip makes for a meal on its own. The salmon was delicious and fresh vegetables were very crisp.
It was spectacular enough, that we will be there again tomorrow night and more pictures to follow!

The choices at the restaurant are great. Everything from pizza, to burgers, to salads, to pot pie, to top notch steaks. Rolls and sweet bread with every meal. Maggie was an awesome waitress! The water was cold and plentiful, full bar and locally sourced options!

We dined in and immediately greeted by Sabrina, who was a fabulous hostess and manager, got us seated right away without a reservation. The drink selections were aweosme and made very strong. Our waiter Stryder was attentive. Our appetizer was missing an element. The wait for dinner was very long, and when our food finally arrived, it was overcooked and cold. I spoke to Sabrina, and she came over to take a look at our dishes. She immediately put our food through again so we would have a hott dinner. Understand things happen, but thankful for Sabrina and Stryders quick response.

The food, service, and inn are amazing. We stayed twice about a decade apart (2012 and 2024); both trips were amazing. The inn has only improved since 2024, with some new amenities. The rooms are cozy, natural (i.e., natural wood flooring and original mill building structure), and a welcome break from generic chain hotels. The food and service at the restaurant are top-notch.

Have to say, after four years the place WAS becoming tired. Bland and boring same old, for such a beautiful place with history and great architectural details. However, I am happy to say the place is revitalized with great service, food and ambience. The staffing went above and beyond, the food and cocktails were great. It feels refreshed and there is an attentiveness to everyone dining. What a gem for the Upper Valley. It's a great spot to have a drink, meet up with friends or share a wonderful meal with family.

Ordered on DoorDash and the menu item wasn't quite what I was looking for. I left a note with the online order asking for a modification that definitely wouldn't have been free to do. I didn't expect it to be done because it wasn't part of the menu, but not only did they honor my request, they did so without asking for an upcharge. The food was amazing as well.

Excellent meal start to finish. Our server Jasmine was professional and very friendly. Outstanding apps; risotto balls along with ahi tuna. Entrees of filet mignon and chicken bacon ravioli were great. We finished with creme brulee and chocolate ring, dang, dong cake. Very reasonable prices. We will be back.

Went there for a company event. The staff was very nice and attentive. The room was decorated nicely and we had plenty of space. The food was great, tasty and hot. Would schedule another event there.

Our waitress recommended the steak kebab and scallops and boy was she right. The food was very tasty and the service was great! They also had a tea menu here (which I haven’t seen before). Great tea selection. Would recommend and would come back!!

The Common Man is a local chain of New England - American restaurants. The Claremont one is located in a beautifully renewed mill building overlooking the Sugar river in the downtown. It has great atmosphere and the food is creative and delicious although definitely on the pricier side.
Try the Common Man Ale - it's surprisingly complex golden amber brewed by Smuttynose Brewing co. (Hampton, NH) specifically for this chain of restaurants.
