Beautiful lake and picnic areas. However, some of the benches and buildings are not in good condition. Went in March and people were grilling and having picnics!

We had an amazing family camping trip in July, setting up our campsite near the water for a tranquil visit overlooking the lake. We also had a blast indulging in some night light painting for added fun!

This is a beautiful and well-kept recreational area in the state of NJ. The day I visited, there was no fee on Sunday, June 11, 2023. This place has man-made beach, picnic areas, fishing, boating, and a dedicated area for campers. Beach was officially closed, and it has what you bring in what you take out policy means no garbage cans available. Parking lots are well paved and maintained. Each area has many benches for you to sit and enjoy the serenity. I would love to visit this place again in the future. This is only less than 2 hours away from New York City.

Fishing spot. Glad someone cut the grass and trimmed the area. It so needed it. It's a peaceful spot to come too. Whether to fish or rest. I love it. I unwind, take pictures and sometimes just sit there and pray. Lord, thank you for another day. 😊

Great family-friendly campground. The lake-front sites are excellent--my favorite sites in the state.

Watch out for Dennis the duck, though. Dennis came limping and quacking into to our campsite, looking very distressed. I called the park office to ask if there was anyone on staff that could help him. The park officer informed me, regrettably, that we had, in fact, been had: Dennis the duck is, apparently, a locally famous grifter who has learned how to trick unsuspecting visitors into feeding him scraps by pretending to be injured 🤣🤦‍♂

Huge and nice lake for recreation activities, unfortunately some structures started to looking old I hope they do some maintenance there, love to go fishing during the day or night, good thing for who like’s to go fishing is that there’s not time for closing at the boating area the surrounding looks mostly clean, Bloom algae staring to growing up and swimming is not allowed and staff always asked to keep away of the water or avoid contact with the water as much we can, I hope the things change in the future over there I can say that is one of the beauties lakes I know so far.

I love this place.. Really clean and I’m not sure if it’s because the lake has been closed for a few years but it’s also never crowded. In the summer there is an entry fee. There is also grilling areas and picnic tables everywhere.

Nice paths and landscaping. Gorgeous views. The facilities seem past their prime, things maybe have improved since we came during Covid.

Scenic nature park in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. Love the beach next to the reservoir. Good for enjoying the sand and sun! Well kept camping grounds and we often enjoy coming here for peaceful walks by the water and through the greenery. The trails are well maintained and overall this recreation area is neat. Plenty of parking available.

Great lake to kayak! We brought our own. There is also a trail (blue diamond) in the woods. We biked it. Plenty of parking by the boat launch. $10 entrance fee for the car for nj residents. Park rangers were very nice and helpful!

Beautiful place to enjoy with big family gathering. To get a good spot with Grill facilities you need to get to the park as early by 9:30am.The open swimming area was closed due to the Covid-19.
The entrance fee is 20$ outside of New Jersy and for New Jersy the entrance fee is 10$.

Have a quite nice weekend with friends. The recreation area is full during the Labor Day. Campers will love this place a lot. There’s a lake but the water getting dry. The quiet hour between 10pm-6am.

This is my favorite park in NJ for camping. I've been camping here for about 10 years. Almost all campsites have water view. This is a beautiful, tranquil hidden gem in NJ

There to fly drones and from that perspective the place is very tranquil and family friendly. Has a large body of water making the shore, treeline and sky an excellent canvas for photos and videos. Also, Spruce Run is spacious & less populated. Kayaking, sailing, camping & swimming is available with a suggestion to call ahead.

This place is awesome! The camping spot I stayed was really scenic and spacious. Fishing and kayaking are additional amusements. Security was great- rangers and polices patrol frequently and were very kind👍. Some facilities seemed to need repair, and grass was little longer than I expected.

I absolutely love coming here. It doesn’t matter what time of the year. However, be mindful that between Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day there is a fee to enter Spruce Run. So if you travel here between these dates make sure that you have your driver’s license and cash. I say driver license because sometimes people forget and also if your plates are different from your true residency, you will have to pay based on your plates. If you’re from jersey, then you pay the resident fee. If not, they charge a little more. However, this is a lovely place to be. View the attached photos. And remember to take your trash with you. Don’t dirty this place up.

Excellent area to enjoy the great outdoors.
Plenty to do..great fishing..hunting too.
For those like myself who truly love Spruce Run its sad to see some who don't respect the area by leaving their garbage all over. Also please obey boating regulations for your safety..highly recommend the entire are..enjoy and respect.
