If you want your kitchen to be the kind of kitchen that you will love walking into every day and just marvel at, Chicone is who you go with. Top notch all the way around. They designed and built custom cabinets for our gut kitchen renovation including a custom made herringbone pattern walnut vent hood ( built by Eli) that is the spectacular centerpiece of the room. They were very accessible, willing to work with us and our ideas while also guiding us in the right direction along the way. Their craftsmanship, attention to detail and pride in their high quality work show through in every piece - each cabinet is treated like a separate piece of furniture. We never felt rushed. Jen Chicone had a great eye and sense of space, and Vincent also has a great eye and builds magnificent pieces. These guys are training apprentices in their shop and are all invested in the work. Can’t recommend highly enough and if you saw our new kitchen you’d agree!

I attended a Windsor chair making class taught by Vincent Chicone assisted by one of his cabinetmakers, Levi Clark, at the Chicone Cabinet Shop. It was an great experience working in a professional environment using the best tools as two craftsmen guided the class through all the aspects of making this timeless design. I was able to finish the class with my own chair using the same type of tools that a chair maker would have used 200 years ago. Not only did I end up with a chair, but I came away with the confidence to take my new found knowledge and continue this chair making journey. We designed and built a custom house with Chicone Builders in the Finger Lakes. The entire experience from beginning to end has been a total pleasure. Their quality orientation and workmanship is evident in everything from the structure of the house to the finishing work. The Cabinetmakers did an awesome job laying out our kitchen and bar areas. The cabinet workmanship and woodworking has been breathtaking. Vincent has a very creative flare which is tempered perfectly by Jen's attention to practical details. Together they delivered a product that integrated perfectly with the overall flow and character of our new home.

We first met Vincent Chicone in 2010. At that time, we were planning a
major kitchen remodel to create our "dream kitchen". The first thing
we were able to do was tour the Chicone's workshop. We were amazed by
the passion and love of carpentry that was so evident in the way Vincent
talked about his current projects as he showed them to us. During the
design process, Vincent was very patient as we worked through different
ideas and he invested significant time to understand our wants and needs
in the process. He also contributed valuable ideas and suggestions of
his own, but was always respectful of the fact that this was our kitchen
and we needed to love it. He worked hard to help us have a vision of
the final "dream kitchen" and he made sure that he clearly understood
that vision. Once the cabinets were built and they were ready to be
installed we began working with David Chicone and like his son, he is a
remarkable craftsman. The project was meticulously executed from
beginning to end. There were no hidden costs and they met the promised
timeline. The end result is that we enjoy the kitchen of our dreams and
we love it! Since that time, we have used Chicone Cabinetry/Builders to
create a gorgeous custom front door and they are also remodeling three
bathrooms. Once again our expectations have not only bet met, but
exceeded! I can't give a higher recommendation, they do amazing work
and more importantly they are reliable and honest people who are a
pleasure to work with.

I just finished Chicone Cabinetmakers School of Windsor. Without any previous woodworking experience I was able to successfully handcraft a Windsor chair in this 5 day class. The Chicone family is wonderful, and everyone who works there is eager to share their knowledge and passion for woodworking. I got to work with and learn about a wide variety of tools and techniques, and now have the confidence to do more projects on my own! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Our home, originally a church was built in the 1800s without a kitchen.

Vince was able to listen to a couple of ideas from us and run with it. It looks fabulous! The fine detail that he adds to everything is just incredible. His design inspired by the original artists' work within the church blends beautifully. People often can't believe it wasn't somehow original to the church.

Truly a master craftsman. We are fortunate to have found such quality work from Vince and his team at Chicone Cabinetmakers!

Never diappointed, the work was done on time and within budget. We plan on additional projects in the near future.

Words cannot describe the Windsor chair making class at Chicone School of Windsor. I took the class about a month ago and cannot believe how incredible the experience was. Vincent and Levi took 3 every day guys and turned us into Windsor chair makers in a short 5 day class. The classes are a perfect size and the instructors are thoroughly versed in their craft. You are immersed in their world from the minute you arrive and by the time you leave, you will find that you have undertaken a journey that completely refreshes the soul.

Just spent a week with Vincent Chicone's team of quality craftsmen at The School of Windsor. Total immersion and one on one instruction make this week a bargain at any price. Their willingness to teach skills and techniques above and beyond what is required is second to none. I would recommend this class to anyone interested in traditional woodworking, furniture making, and the historical significance of this incredible chair.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Windsor Chair Making class. We went from logs to chairs in five days. Levi and Vincent are excellent teachers and they explain and demonstrate well. They are both very patient and work with you every step of the way. The class sizes are small and this was great for being able to build a rapport with the instructors and the other classmates. We used many hand tools for shaping, carving, planing, and smoothing, and were encouraged to try them all to find what works best for the task at hand. I am planning to take another class soon.

I took 3 weeks Windsor chairmaking class with incredible guide. Vincent and Levi have a rich experience of not only Windsor chairmaking but also teaching. They are very supportive and generous to make me enjoy chairmaking thoroughly. Moreover, Vincent scheduled 3 week long continuous class just only for my situation. He had a perfect plan for what I asked him and enormous patience until I had done task as much as I want.
I could have an experience from riving a green log to finishing by milk painting. It was pleasant experience at Vincent's workshop and everyone in there were support me to make me a chairmaker. Vincent even considered how to keep practice after class and gave me many advice in all aspect of chairmaking include tools, trees and management.
Furthermore, Montour Falls is a historic town with a beautiful attraction such as Watkins Glen State Park and Seneca lake.

When our mother/mother-in-law could not, at 93, bear to give up her handcrafted, mahogany, four-poster bed and accede to the requirements of her assisted living center that she be in a hospital bed, Vincent said, “Why yes, we can make that work.” And make it work he did. Now she reigns from her canopy arched top bed, complete with macrame canopy, and if she sometimes believes she is a princess, or even the queen herself, then how much more is Vincent Chicone to be praised! The bed is beautiful, quite the the thing for royalty!

Our 16 year old son, Noah participated in the Windsor chair making class this summer at Chicone Cabinetmakers. Noah has worked with his father in our workshop doing general woodworking, for the past few years. Vince and his staff taught Noah many new skills and techniques, during his week long class, as he worked on completing his Windsor chair. The guidance Noah received was phenomenal. The experience not only strengthened his desire to continue his woodworking craft, but to seek its endless possibilities. Thank you so much!!

Vincent and David built custom-made desks and shelves for our home office.
They did an excellent job both designing and building our high quality furniture;
moreover, everything was completed on time!
Our office has become our favorite place in our house.
The completed furniture is of such a high quality that we have seen nothing of comparable quality in any showroom. There is now such a visual harmony between our custom-made desks and our other furniture that our office has become so inviting that we spend time there even when we do not have any work to do.
Year later they did another high quality job for us; they built and installed vanities and cabinets in our bathrooms.
Again, the workmanship was excellent and the work was completed in a timely fashion.

For some time we had wanted a copy of the historic Rising Sun chair that George Washington sat in during the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia. We were familiar with the excellent work done by Chicone Cabinetmakers on furniture at Thomas Jefferson's Monticello. I didn't know what the chances were of getting a copy of the Rising Sun chair but decided to contact Vincent Chicone to see if they could make a reproduction. Mr. Chicone went to Independence Hall in Philadelphia and was able to obtain measurements of the chair and information about the intricate carving on the back of the chair and what is believed to be the proper upholstery. With this information they made a replica of the chair and sent it to us.The Rising Sun chair may be the most famous chair in American and we feel very fortunate that the Chicone Cabinetmakers took the time and great effort to make an exact and excellent copy of this historic chair for us.
