Best food I've ever had in my life! Unbelievable the generous amount of incredibly delicious food that was on our plates. The server, Laura, was super sweet and efficient & made helpful suggestions. The owner came out to our table to say hi & was so funny and kind. Cannot wait to go back again!

First of all as promised to our favorite bar tender Andy, this restaurant is unmatched in the sylvan beach area! The environment is like something out of the Bahamas . Andy is always a very quick bar tender and the servers are great too! He remembers us every year we go for our wood pallets ! The food is very fresh and the menu is unique! As an expert level reviewer I would highly recommend this spot for everyone!!

My husband and I had our anniversary dinner here. Food was outstanding. Didn't go with their everyday $24.99 as we saw what was being brought to other tables, theirs looked thin. We ordered the mate prime rib and king's cut and they were perfectly sized and cooked for the price. We had this lobster appetizer sorry can't remember the name of it but it was very tasty and real lobster with a cucumber Wassabi sauce. No picture of appetizer. I was completely in the moment. The drinks we ordered were very good as well. Except the bloody Mary had ice shaving instead of chunks of ice. Was like a slushy bloody Mary. Weird. Also gave 4 stars cause I felt we were rushed. Dinner came 4 minutes after our appetizers. Lessoned learned don't order meal till appetizers come out. We will go back definitely for the prime rib.

This place has been a favorite of mine since I was a child! I live in Chicago now but I make sure I visit Captain John's everytime I'm home. AMAZING food at great prices. Super fun atmosphere and friendly staff!

We had an absolute amazing time at Captain John’s. From the time we where greeted at the door by Captain John himself, the waiter, and the time we left, we felt like family. Everyone was so pleasant and happy to see us (BYW, this was our first time here).
Food was absolutely delicious! We will definitely be back.

Great food. The lobster Mac & Cheese, the Showboat and the Lobster bisque were all great.

We make sure to get here once or twice every summer and always sit outside. Its an awesome location, awesome staff. Owners are always there working right along with them. There's nothing we don't love about this place.

This place was great from location to food, price. We were greeted by the owner Captain John. He was the sweetest man ever. Personable and friendly. The wait staff was excellent. The food was excellent and atmosphere was excellent. Our waiter was new this season and he was exceptional. Can’t remember his name though. I recommend this place to everyone. Nothing bad to say.

My fiance and I have never had a bad experience here and it isnt going to start now. This was by far our best time at any resteraunt we've been to. Captain john was out front and greeted us and even sung my fiance a song.grabbed a pic with the legend on our way out. it was awesome to finally meet him. Our server Mick was phenomenal and super attentive. Even had some hilarious jokes for us. The food was exceptional. Hats off to the chef. I highly recommend for a nice meal and great atmosphere! we will be back again for sure!

I was shocked when I looked at the prices, but here's the thing: you get what you pay for. The food is incredible: steak that is tender and juicy, lobster that makes you sit there and just experience it, and the garlic mashed potatoes are out of this world. If you can, get Mick as your waiter -- that man is hilarious. And of course, there's the interior atmosphere, not something you see often in Upstate NY. So yes, it is a bit pricey, but it's genuinely worth it.

Excellent food. Excellent atmosphere. Kathy was a great server. Congratulations on 50 years in business! And John, you look great for 99 years old! Wish I had half your energy as well!

I recommend this restaurant. The prime rib and lobster was not only a great deal it was delicious. Two for one margarita.

The surf and turf was worth five stars. Order your steak medium or medium rare. The Lobster tail was cooked to perfection. The butter sauce was warned by a candle for a nice touch. Great service!

Prime Rib and Lobster tail was a good deal and was served up spot on! Good service and good price point! I would recommend to go and try it yourself.

Went in about a 1/2 an hour before closing. Very friendly and accommodating, served us well and we're very polite. Food was great prices were too! Staff made our granddaughter feel special!
