Grampa Dells Old Country Store

Driving on any road other than I-90 is needed sometimes, and finding this store reminiscent of my own rural, 'find everything you need' store was quite welcoming. I had the Beef on Weck (Avail Wed-Fri) and it was one of the best versions of this classic sandwich. My friends had delicious, full sized subs that neither could finish and had to bring home. There were tables inside to eat at and the store was air-conditioned, a comfortable and welcome reprieve from the 90⁰F heat of the day. I live roughly 2 hours from this fine establishment and honestly want to go back out sooner than later, solely for that great sandwich. Don't hesitate to stop in, you'll be sorry that you missed this step into the past.

If you want a sub that you have trouble fitting into your mouth, this is the place. Sweet lady running the place, very relaxing atmosphere, you feel south of the Mason Dixon when you're in here. Beautiful furniture, pictures, they definitely don't run businesses like this anymore. And with the prices that they have, it's a wonder how they're in business. 8.75 for a whole sub that will fill the belly of any working man at the end of the day.

Just passing through last week I ran across this gem of a deli! My cold cut sub was to die for! So fresh & tasty! Perfect roll too! Lots of other goodies to try as well! Check them out!

Outstanding subs and beef on weck! Sally also has zweigles hot dogs on a brioche roll with a bag of chips for $3.50 ! What a deal!

Another favorite of mine is the fried bologna sandwich.

She has a cool line of old time drinks like birch beer.. orange and red soda etc.

Another of my favorites is her homemade soup and cookies and other desserts!

There are lots of bulk candies and snacks available.
Stop in... you won't be sorry.

Woman who runs the store was very nice and compensating. We tried two sodas that were flat and she didnt charge us for them. Nice place to come for a relaxed experience.

Wow! Wow! Wow! Are you looking for something both delicious AND unique? If you are anywhere within 15 miles of this place you absolutely MUST STOP! The food is homemade and delicious. Freshest and most crisp chicken fingers I've ever had on a chicken finger sub! Absolutely the BEST Beef on Weck I've ever had!! Amazing flavor, so tender! Horseradish was fresh and man does it have kick!! Sarsaparilla soda (with no HFCS, only pure cane sugar)... Who the heck has that anywhere else!?

Please try this place. Oh and the best macaroni salad I've ever tasted (again, homemade). Good luck getting the recipe!
