Colonial Inn & Creamery

I can't comment on the inn as we came for the ice cream only. The ice cream is a must have. I had the vanilla peanut butter. It's fluffy, not too sweet, and so good. A top ice cream I've ever had. The owner(?) Told me that it's a family recipe and has won many awards. The old build is also very neat. Definitely give it a stop.

I can't speak to the Inn portion of this location, but the Ice Cream is a must have in the area. We walked right in and was greeted with a friendly smile and joyful conversation that's hard to find these days. The ice cream was some of the best I've had and the prices for the ice cream are amazing. Overall well worth the visit and I will return next time I'm in Watkins Glen!

Cute ice cream shop that served as a hotel years ago. Prices are fairly priced and there are a decent amount of flavors. You can eat inside or my favorite, on the front porch in a rocking chair.

We absolutely loved this quaint hotel. It was a small room with a large king sized bed & large walk in closet. We are neat freaks do we loved hiding our luggage bags etc in that closet! Having a refrigerator and microwave was perfect for our leftover eats from local restaurants. I should mention almost everything we wanted to do was walking distance so it was perfect! The only thing we drove to was a couple of our fave wineries just to pick up our faves!
Loved the homemade ice cream so much. The coconut was love at first lick . I also tried mocha chip and mint chip both were super good! We also appreciated the sign on the ice cream case- love your sense of humor.
Everyone who waited on us was super friendly - kudos to your staff for that and very clean rooms. Also, just sitting in your rocking chairs watching traffic go by and chatting with passer Byers was so relaxing and fun . We would most definitely stay here again!

So glad we chose this place to spend a couple days in Watkins Glen. Perfect location right next to hiking trail. Room was so cool, more like a clean bedroom than a hotel room. Very friendly staff. Room was right upstairs to an awesome ice cream shop 🙂

For a small motel, this place was really great! They have a few 🐾dog friendly🐾 rooms, and it was very clean. The ice cream was also amazing and they have brick oven pizza available (the perfect combo). The beds were comfortable, the shower was nice, and the TV had cable and a TVGuide.

We loved that this place was right on a main street so we could walk through town or walk right into Watkins Glen state park. I would stay here again.

Great stay, clean comfortable rooms. Very nice accommodating staff. And a rainbow when I woke up.

No frills but cozy and clean. Can't beat the location, walking distance to Watkins glen trail and Seneca lake, super close to anything you'd need (coffee, food, etc) & fairly priced, highly recommend

I cant say enough about the staff and the Colonial Inn. I was there for the week during the race in August. We checked in and Allie was so helpful and extremely personable. Later that day we had met Brian, the manager. Again he was also very helpful, went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed to make sure our stay was enjoyable. There pizza and ice cream are a must. The ice cream which is made right there along with the waffle cones are simply the best I have ever had. We had the pleasure of dealing with Masey (SP) every night when we went in for ice cream. She was a joy to talk to . Like I said this place is a must. You will not find nicer people than the Colonial Inn. We enjoyed it so much we already made our reservations for next year and we are going back in October. Thank you to everyone at The Colonial Inn for making our stay a positive one.

Beautiful place to stay in Watkins Glenn! We came for a quick overnight trip and got free ice cream with check in! Their ice cream tasted great and they had gluten free cones available!

The rooms are very clean and had air conditioning. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone spending a few days here.

Room was very clean and the water pressure was perfect. Bathroom is very clean. Refrigerator, microwave excellent and it has a big closet and you also have parking in the front of your room. Icecream is delicious and the building is old and beautiful and clean. This will be our stay next time we come back around.

I love this ice cream shop! So chewy and creamy!! Love my pistachio flavor. My friends all enjoyed their choices too!

Raspberry icecream is the best. Super creamy and small bits of Raspberry fruit. Best I've ever had!

This is the best or one of the very few best ice cream I ever had in the USA. It is creamy, flavorful and delicious. It is low sugar and high fat, just the way proper ice cream needs to be. Comes in Fresh baked waffle cones, Huge huge portions. I wish they had smaller balls available so that I could have eaten many more different flavors. Very highly recommended

Wow this pizza place that is next-door to colonial pottery is absolutely amazing. As I was walking down the street with my daughter you can smell it probably a block away because they’re cooking the pizza in the brick oven right in the parking lot out in the open. We ordered the pepperoni pizza and two drinks and our price was around $18 which was absolutely affordable. The pizza was so good and the crust was done just right. If you’re ever in this area make sure to stop by here because it’s very affordable the people are friendly and the food is delicious and the sodas they sell are local flavors.

Delicious fresh ice cream with great flavors!! So many Gluten Free choices and vegan choices too. I had the Peach and Honey Vanilla. Sooooo good!! My girls had cookies and cream and Biscoff. They said it was one of the best they’ve had. The guy at the shop serving us was so nice and patient and gave us flavors to try. Love this place!! Oh and I got mason jars full of local honey here too. ❤ 🍦 🍯 🐝❤

Excellent ice cream selection and nice outdoor rocking chair seating. I had a two scoop cone with Eggnog Chip and Biscoff. Both were very tasty. My wife enjoyed the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup flavor. Definitely recommend this spot over the chain down the street.

Really nice inn/motel. Most importantly the room was clean. The staff were friendly and prepared really good homemade pizza right on site. Also highly recommend the creamery. The Rocky Mountain Raspberry ice cream was the best scoop I've ever had in my life.

Insanely delicious ice cream! The chocolate and mocha chunk were some of the best renditions I've ever had of these flavors (and they're two of my favorites). They are also very generous with portions, so you can really savour all the creamy goodness. Colonial Creamery is 100% worth a stop if you're in Watkins Glen! (Also there was live piano music when we were there Saturday afternoon, a lovely touch!)
