Cantina del Rio Mexican Restaurant

Went for dinner tonight. This restaurant is amazing. Lots of dishes to choose from. Nachos, guacamole, chicken and steak fajita. Chicken and shrimp in hot sauce with avocado and rice is delicious 😋. I loved the jalapeno. Grapefruit margarita 🍹.
Service is good , staff is extremely friendly. Ambiance is beautiful. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

We got the veggie plate and chicken flautas for take out. We both loved the food, the spicy salsa was actually spicy! Got there a little earlier then I was told my order would be ready and the hostess was friendly and even gave us an extra order of chips and salsa. Large portions. Definitely would go back!

Been coming since the day they opened. The guacamole bar whips up some of the best fresh dip I’ve ever had. Hand made. Love watching them prepare it. I’ve had a little bit of everything and I would say the chicken & steak fajita is my favorite dish. Staff is always friendly. Clean and inviting!

I sat at the bar and asked the bartender “Leo” about how long the wait would be for food for just me, as I had to get right back to work after, but wanted to avoid fast food restaurants and support a small business. He made sure I was served lightning fast, checked in constantly and made good banter. Very appreciative of this amazing bartender! Made it back to work with time to spare!!

Food is so good! Went into a food coma.

The food here is delicious. I Order for pick here once to 2'xs a month, same order Everytime, 3 burritos & a pint of fresh quac w chips, got home & quac was only 1/2 full & topped with Bacon, never got it this way before- so I called & asked if I could be refunded just for the quac I got charged for a full order & did not ask for bacon on top plus it was a half pints worth of guac. The manager Raymond refunded 6 bucks, I also work in a restaurant & was pretty surprised considering I didn't order it and was skimped on the amount to begin with. The server on the phone was very courteous, but Mngr Raymond? Customer service goes a long way, especially for returning patrons.

Are they still open? I LOVE this place. I used to go once a week. The guacamole and jalapeno margarita were absolutely amazing! I was unable to go for about a month and half. the last two weekends stopped by and they were closed. Did they go out of business or did they move to another location? Please tell me they are still around!

I don’t care what nobody says, their food was amazing! And so was my service. I can bet someone’s abuelita is back there cooking because it is definitely the most authentic Mexican food I’ve ever had at any restaurant! Ughhh I can’t wait to go back!

I Had dinner with my wife and the food was delicious and the service by Mr. Victor was outstanding. Definitely going back.

Good food. Atmosphere was great. Today when we were there all staff was in Halloween costumes. One minor complaint is that they served bit too much chips as welcome food. Will surely visit again when in Warwick area.

Food was good as always. They now have a "hospitality Fee" which is actually a credit card fee added to the bill but is removed if cash is used.

I had a great time here. The margaritas are huge. My food came out lightning quick and my server Katherine was phenomenal! I had the fajitas. Typical American style Mexican fare if that is a thing. The recommendations from my server were spot on and they didn’t mind seating someone that was by themselves in the dining area. Bar is usually pretty full so plan accordingly.

Excellent Mexican. A must try. I am so glad we made our way back there in Warwick, down near the old Rocky Point to try this Mexican place. It is very good. Their chips and salsa are excellent. The traditional salsa way. Their guacamole looked amazing, although I did not try it this time, because I had just had some. We ordered their nachos and the queso dip and the ground beef was done very well in it. It was topped perfectly. Not how so many lightly do it. My family ordered a specialty chicken bowl, an order of quesadillas and an amazing burrito which was stock full of ground beef, refined beans, and rice. I will definitely be back and I am from California and know my Mexican!! Thanks for doing it right Cantina del Rio.

Their Steak Fajita Nachos are to die for! Whenever I order Mexican, chances are I choose nachos or fajitas. I have tried all Mexican restaurants in Warwick, and firmly stand by my opinion that Cantina is the best in the city. Large portions too. I”ll order steak fajita nachos for $14 and get a tray of nachos with a free side of chips and salsa. While the price and container sizes are similar to other other restaurants in the city, the portions of steak and the quality of their dishes as a whole seems to knock the other places out of the water. Their guac and queso are delicious. You can tell the guacamole is made fresh same-day. I really have nothing bad to say. Rocky Point Pub was my favorite restaurant near my house, and although I still miss their chili and wings - I'm very happy that such a great business has taken their place.

My family and I had a wonderful experience last Saturday night. The food was great and the service was top notch!! Maria was our waitress and she went out of her way for our granddaughter. Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Wife and I decided to stop in for lunch on a whim - staff was prompt, friendly, the whole 9, everything you want and expect. Ordered the Del Rio Burrito and the poor thing didn't stand a chance. Genuinely fantastic Mexican.

Not a whole lot more I can add to my experience - got everything I wanted in a reasonable time and it was delicious.

My wife, however, totally biffed it, got distracted for a moment and ordered the wrong thing, only realizing it when the order came out. They offered to replace the meal, which she declined - she owned the mistake. That said, despite that mix-up, she ended up polishing off the meal she DID get just as quickly as I did mine.

Great food/drinks, friendly atmosphere, awesome waitress. I am definitely going back.

We love Cantina Del Rio! The night was busy; great for business! , but it left the service to be slow at first, but once drinks were served, the food followed shortly after. We go here often , even for takeout, and it can be amazing when the staff cares about what they're doing. Im hoping that this last round of renovations will do the trick for attaining consistency. This restaurant has the potential to be a staple in the community for many decades as long as they continue to be consistent in what they serve the community with.
