Mercy Animal Hospital

I have been going to Mercy Animal Hospital since the 70s. When Dr. Childers was the vet. There was a period of time when I had no pets that I did not have a reason to go. But, as soon as I had a pet, it was the only place I even considered!. Dr. Childers was no longer practicing, so I met Dr. McMillan. I liked him immediately. He was gentle and extremely knowledgeable. He felt like family. Almost 5 years ago. I rescued a senior dog. He was a shiatsu mix and about 12 years old. I had taken him to a vet that was affiliated with PARL to be checked out and evaluated. He had a couple of little things that I was given medication for. It cost me an arm and a leg! Then the vet told me that he had a fractured molar. I was told to bring him in to have it operated on. The bill was going to be over $700!! I took him to Mercy and Dr.McMillan looked at the tooth and then took a pair of forceps and pulled out a sliver of tooth that was stuck in his gum. It wasn't attached to anything else. It was just hanging there. It took him about 2 seconds to take it out...no pain, no muss no fuss. No extra charge!! That was the $700 tooth extraction my little dog was saved from! I will never go any where else! Now, its time for my 16 year old dog to cross over the rainbow Bridge. He no longer can use his back legs, he's completely deaf and half blind. He is suffering with must be very bad pain. I would not take him any other place to be put to sleep. The gentle and caring staff at Mercy will take care of my boy, I know.

I really like Mercy Animal Hospital and I say this because they came through for me at a time when looking for a new Vet was almost impossible. I had just lost my beloved Persian Cat and took in a rescue. My old Vet did not want to take on a new pet and my rescue needed to be seen. Without hesitation, they said to bring her in. I love the Veterinarian and the very knowledgeable staff! They also now take care of my little dog as well! It is nice to go where everyone is so friendly!

Dr Mac, has been our vet for over 30 years, so sad to see him go. he was simply the best. it will be very hard for another vet to fill his shoes. Jody and Holly were the best. I have known them the longest. Dr. Scotto, and the new staff is very understanding and and she is very knowledgeable.

Dr. McMillen is caring and kind. He takes his time to explain. The staff is warm and affectionate. I can't enough.

The absolute BEST!!! Dr Mac was my 3 cat's vet for many years and he was absolutely wonderful ❤ Extremely warm and compassionate.. He genuinely cared about the animals and their well being,
it wasnt about money with him, which is why he had a huge clientele. He's what people wanted for their pet. The staff are amazingly warm as well. Well wishes to Dr McMillen on his retirement. Dr Scotto is extremely wonderful and we look forward to seeing her for years to come. I know she'll be very great with the animal's as she's kind and caring.

Dr. Mac and his staff are so great with my dogs. He takes the time to listen to your concerns and explains everything thoroughly. I also like his old-school approach. I've been going there for years and have no complaints.

Amazing staff and great care without being greedy on his prices. Your pet will get the care they deserve and it won’t burn holes in your pocket! I’ve never met a human doctors office even half as professional and genuine as the people of this office. 10/10 recommend this place to everyone! Wish I knew him with my other animals in the past!

Dr and staff are amazing. Truly the best in state. Kind,caring, try to get you in asap. I’ve been going for @ least 25 yrs with different pets and don’t know what I’ll do when he retires, he is the BEST!!!

Dr Mac has been our vet for 38 years now. 4 collies, 4 german shepherds, 3 kitties. He and his staff are outstanding.

Dr McMillan is the best, He is our vet since 2008, we love him. He is an excellent doctor. Love his staff too. Highly recommend.

I have brought my pug to Dr. McMillan for 7 years now. He is a wonderful veterinarian, he is calm and very gentle with my extremely hyper dog. Dr. Mcmillan's staff are very good, knowledgeable and just as good with the animals as he is. Prices here are also reasonable!!

Dr. McMillen is the best veterinarian I have ever met. He saved my cats life! I've been bringing my "fur babies" to him for over 20 years. His pricing is very fair and reasonable. He's definitely not in it for the money!

Dr. MCmillen is the best. He treats my dog with the best of care and expertise. His fees are more affordable than other vets in the area. I've been taking my pets there for over 20 years.

I’m presently 73 years young,I’ve had a dog or cat for the last 45 yrs, in those 45 years I’ve been to pretty much every vet for one reason or another in RI. About 23 yrs ago I heard from a friend about Mercy animal hospital and how good this Dr McMillan was, and shortly there after we added a family member named Sparky ,(west highland terrier ) he’s had his share of allergies so I took him to this specialist in east Greenwich ,after $575.00 for an office visit and to leave there with no more knowledge then I walk in with, and a $150.00 prescription each month.It was time for a rabies shot ,I took him to Mercy and believe me when I say if the service was free at any other Vet I’d pass the opportunity ! Not only does he takes the time to explain the issue with Sparky, he very reasonable on his cost for services.If your lucky enough to get an appointment at Mercy, your going to love the gals in the office.( Can’t say enough good things !). Well, it’s been a week since my Bella passed 😢, I have to thank Dr. McMillan from Mercy Animal Hospital and his staff. When she started having medical problems a few years ago He tried Everything to give her a good life Dr. McMillan is a compassionate, kind and knowledgeablecaring Doctor With a wonderful staff, they really care For your pet and getting your pet well ,he also cares about pets' parents too 💔

Dr McMillan is like no other vet you will ever meet. He honestly loves his job and the animals. His office vist price is the lowest you will find on top of it. He won't try and sell you special food like most of the vets out there. I have been a customer since he opened and would never go anywhere else.

I've been taking my pets to Dr. McMillan for many, many years and will continue to as long as he practices for. He genuinely cares for our animals and while he can be a gruff Scotsman, he uses his experience to provide the best care for his patients while often avoiding costly tests that may not bear fruit. I often get a phone call at the end of the day answering a question that I had because it's important to him to put my mind at ease. It's becoming rare to find a country Dr. in the city, but that's exactly what he is.

This small neighborhood vetranerian is just the greatest! I've been a customer since 1986. He has such a clientele that he has to close the books at times because he has to many customers! Can you believe that?! That's how good this guy is! Dr. McMillan is the Best. It's only downside is that it's small place. But he is extremely reasonable with pricing as I have done my homework on that over the years.

I have been going to Dr McMIlan fir 41 years! He has always taken great care of my animals.
I am a liaison for Bichon club of America national Rescue. I have taken many different dogs to him, with issues that are very rare. And doc always takes good care of them!
