Riva Grill On the Lake

I had a relaxing lunch at Riva Grill before driving back to SF. You can’t beat the location right on the lake, and my table by the window had great views. My server Mike could not have been nicer or more helpful. He did a great job. The Prime Rib French dip (which Mike recommended) was excellent.

Riva Grill is a great restaurant to enjoy with views of Lake Tahoe! It has a nice rustic, mountain ambiance with beautiful views of the water and excellent service. The food was delicious, particularly the Lobster Bisque soup. They offer specialty cocktails for something unique. Definitely a place to go back to!

We dined here for my husbands 40th birthday. We sat in the bar area so we could participate in Fish Taco Fridays, which was such a fun concept and a lot of fun (even though the table next to us won all the prizes). Our waitress Kaitlin was AMAZING. Super personable, attentive, kind and gave us a ton of local recommendations of things to do and see in the area our first time. Her recommendations literally made our trip! The food was phenomenal. Huge portions and lots of flavor. My husband got the prime rib which was massive and cooked exactly how he wanted it. I got the mushroom risotto with chicken, which was good, but a little heavily seasoned in my opinion and the tomatoes were a weird addition. We split the lobster deviled eggs which were so unique, but delicious!! The French onion soup was so tasty and was unique in that the croutons weren’t completely soggy, the crust still had some crunch! Their menu was extensive and ranged from sandwiches/salads to steaks, seafood and chicken dishes. My husband had a Wet woody, which was very good. They had a huge list of these slushy liquor drinks, “Wet Woodys”which was fun. The concept felt out of place for the environment of the restaurant, but I bet it fits just well in the summer when the patio is open and it’s hot outside! I had an espresso martini and it was amazing! 10/10 would recommend this place for a nice dinner or special occasion dinner.

If you’re in Tahoe, you have to go to Riva Grill’s happy hour and sit next to the window. The views of the lake are gorgeous! We ordered the ahi poke tuna (already half eaten in the second photo), pomegranate glazed pork ribs, and margarita pesto pizza and it was all fantastic, so flavorful, and yummy! Service was fast and the server was so nice. My pomegranate martini was also delicious, highly recommend. 5/5 very impressed - especially during happy hour! Love that they had discounts on appetizers, pizzas and drinks (everything we ordered was on happy hour)!

The view was fantastic. I would love to come back and see it in the summer. The waiter was friendly and helpful. The food was ok. Too much lettuce compared to burger and not enough teriyaki glaze. The Wet Woody was the best part of the meal. They also had a decent kids menu.

Was there for a post wedding rehearsal and this place did not disappoint. We had a private room upstairs and the views of lake and mountains are fantastic and the sunsets make the experience even better. All the food was top notch along with the service and atmosphere. Whether you’re a local or visiting check this place out if you get a chance.

Went to Riva Grill at the end of August. The food was fantastic and views were ethereal!! You could really see the amazing Lake Tahoe from the restaurant. When it started to rain, the waitstaff was very thoughtful and moved us inside. Overall, the experience was fantastic.

Food awesome! Kudos to the chef. We had his special, the taco pizza. Delicious! Also tried the drink special The Hot Apple Pie. Wow that's exactly what it tasted like. Our server, Tony, was great too. Friendly & full of history about the area. Beautiful view. Couldn't ask for more.

Definitely did not disappoint! It’s been 14-15 years since my last visit. I had been raving about this restaurant to my (now) hubby and best friend. We had just eloped and had our ceremonial dinner here!
I have been looking forward to their shrimp & lobster bisque and was so delicious like I remembered! The best I’ve ever had! Hubby and Bestie agreed! We loved all of our drinks, appetizers, main course and of course, dessert!
Great service provided by Christian, who was attentive, answered our questions and had great suggestions! Can’t wait to return on our next visit to SLT!

View , service, food is very delicious I ate in a lot of restaurants in different countries , But this restaurant is for those people with high taste, the food plays a tune in your mouth , the salmon salad yum yum 😋😋I really love it

Really neat place lake front with friendly staff. Must get a Wet Woody! Lobster Develed eggs were great (just be prepared for them to be rich)!

The three of us just enjoyed it here. The food service and atmosphere. It's a little expensive but totally worth it. We ordered french dip, salads, chicken sandwich and drinks, - we lived it, honestly. We were glad we went and made a visit on a Saturday 🌃 night. Lots of parking and easy access. There may be a wait in the lobby but a 🙂 nice bar inside.

I would give 10 stars if I could to this place. Talk about customer service, we found this place coming from the lake, they're were very busy and we didn't know we needed a reservation, the young lady at front told us to give her a couple of minutes, wirh 5 minutes we were seated front view to the lake. The is incredible, and every plate coming out looked delicious. When they came to take our order, the young lady was super sweet, and she answered all my questions without making me feel dumb. We explained it was our first time there. I can't tell you in words how delicious our food was. To be honest, I expected my Ahi Tuna to be a failure because it is not a sushi place. I can go on and on. Price was fair for the type of high-end seafood. Highly recommended, and I can't wait to come back to Lake Tahoe to come here and eat.

Great place to eat on the lake. Had a wood fired pizza and it was fire. The oj for mimosas was delish. Server was super friendly and cheerful . Order came out quick and hot . And that snickers cheesecake hit the spot 😋. This fat kid was in heaven. Don’t be afraid to get the pizza for brunch that’s what I did😎. ✌🏽

We only had drinks. When we walked in we did not know this was a rum drink place. But happy to find out. Rum floaters were great. Service was quick and attentive. Of course the views were great. No parking though.

Coconut shrimp was tender and flavorful! I like the grilled pineapple which gave the entire dish a different twist.

The California burger is very well presented with crispy fries, not soggy.

We went here after an elopement and took 8 friends who drove/flew a long way out to dinner. The location was beautiful and the food was amazing. Scott was our host and did a fantastic job. Everyone enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. The Grille was very busy but I suppose that was to be expected when the food was so good. The shrimp and lobster bisque was the best I've ever had. When you go make reservations!

Last night of our vacation. Great experience, good vibes and breath taking views of the sunset over south lake Tahoe. We skied at heavenly all day, went down to the beach and laid in the sun, taking in the views of the clear water and snow covered mountains. After that we sat on the balcony and enjoyed an enthusiastic bartender, she was a local and made killer drinks. She also recommended that their lobster bisque with hand cut croutons, it was smooth, warm and the blends of spices with the lobster were sublime. After that we had a margarita brick oven pizza, crab cakes, and steak. 5 stars all the way down. I could write all day about this place but you catch the drift. Tahoe Taphouse is where it's at!!!

Delicious food and great service. There’s also a wonderful view of the water when you sit outside. Would definitely recommend!

We came here on Easter Sunday. Even though prime rib is usually only available on Friday and Saturday, we were pleasantly surprised to be able to order it because of the holiday. The prime rib was excellent. So was the steamed clams and ribeye. We would come back.
