Jay's Famous Hot Dogs

Pretty darn good dogs . I had two Chili dogs, one son two chili cheese dogs. My other son a Gyro with fries. The chili sauce was good ! The fries excellent! Overall good ! Give them a try!

We now live in North Carolina but every time we come back we make sure we get some of those fabulous chili dogs.(all the way) and there chili cheese fries. I also love the gyros. I can put 4 of those bad boys down. (Chili dogs) I've been coming there for at least 40 years. You guys put a smile on my face and fill my belly. Thank you jays. I love you guys. Remember a day without Jay's isn't the same.

Service was very nice. Not sure who the guy was working but he deserves a raise for sure no matter what he makes.

I miss Jay's since I moved to Virginia. Still get a couple of pints when people come to visit me.

Everyone was extremely friendly and the food was delicious. Even the other customers were friendly and courteous.

Very basic and clean as a whistle, hot dogs of all descriptions, a few other sandwiches and sides, Gyros and other Greek goodies. I loved the food and also how busy and popular this local hot spot was at 2:30 in the afternoon. Only four tables but a line of people coming in and going out on a steady basis with takeout. Cash only and no drive thru but that's okay. Dogs today but will definitely be going back next time I am in town and trying the Gyros. Highly recommend it if you are like me and loving the little local spots.

Read the handwritten letter framed on the wall. From a man named Frank whose Mama couldn't eat anything but jays while pregnant. I can definitely relate... Favorite take out place since I was very young. Many many customers have their own history in relation to this place, myself included. A beautiful thing to see it displayed with pride.

Best hot dog chili I've had.

This is a great place for a quick hot dog. Is it the most updated place? No. Is it the cleanest place? Maybe not. However, it has the tastiest dogs in the area. This is what my dad and I go to this place for when we visit. It meets that goal every time. So, I give it five stars because it provides me with great hot dogs at a reasonable price. I am not there for ambiance, so I am not worried about what it is like inside.

Best chili dogs ever!

Food is always excellent. Their Gyros are fantastic, always loaded with meat. The fries are always hot and delicious. My family loves the chili dogs the most. They are always willing to make food to order.

I've been here many years ago and liked their food. Apparently they shut down for a bit which I didn't knkw as I am from Pennsylvania. Just ate there again. Had a corn dog and a cheese dog. Simple food I understand but the hot dog was great and the breading on the corn dog was semi sweet and was delicious. The hometown feel from the staff wraps up this great little joint. I would rexommend giving them a try to anyone.

My experience at Jay's Famous Hot Dogs was interesting, I had a gyro so next time Im gonna try the hot dog but I did have fries, wow they were okay, was pretty full, see you all soon.

Cleaned & renewed finally. Chilli dogs & fries & gyros as good as ever. Never seen them this busy EVER!!! no outside seating now? Accepting credit cards very soon.

2 hot dogs with coney sauce, fries and a drink. Good food at a good price! I just wish they would go back to allowing the customer to put vinegar and salt on the fries instead of them doing it!

Everytime I come home Jay's is our first stop. Always get chili to take back. The food is outstanding and the staff is polite and friendly.

Low cost greasy wonderful chili dogs. The old fashion burger is a bit like meatloaf with sweet peppers, onion, and chili ... And worth the low price. This place isn't for neat freaks or squares ... It's dirtier than a food truck, but its cheap, it tastes great. This fatty approves.

Been going to Jays for 35 years. Live out of state and its my first stop when I come home. All time favorite gyros and dogs! Youngstown classic! Go Pens!

Seven days without Jay's makes one weak! A day without Jay's isn't the same! I got a thing for hot dog shops, I guess. The chili is great and you should put it on everything in copious amounts.

I live in Dallas Texas, when I travel home to Youngstown it's a must have item on the to do list. Jay's always bring back wonderful childhood memories. I've been a customer every since the downtown location. Keep up the good work.
