Yat Son Restaurant

I love this gem. If you can get in on a day that it is actually open you are in for a treat. Unfortunately recently it has not been open on it’s posted hours of operation. It’s a little drive if you’re planning to dine from outside the East Helena Area. My suggestion is if you happen to have a friend that lives in the area have them check for you. This restaurant is so good that you can rarely get a call through! I again say I LOVE THIS RESTAURANT!!

We just came from here and the food, service, cleanliness and atmosphere was great!
We ordered and the food was very warm when we got it, just like I like my food, quick service and the restaurant was packed. Efficient and super friendly staff.
Not one complaint!

One of the oldest businesses in Helena. They are cash or check only, and are just open for dinner 3 days a week. But, what do you expect when one guy runs the place?! Jeff is awesome, and his many years in the kitchen is evident with his delicious food!

Hands down best Chinese food in the state (region?!). Incredibly authentic, delicious food. The owner knows what he’s doing and I believe he has a Chinese heritage, which would explain the quality of food. Worth the drive to east Helena. Try the noodles!! Any poor reviews of this place probably prefer fake, frozen Chinese. This is unreal.

Just thinking about Yatson makes me hungry. Gotta keep this review short so I can get some Almond Chicken in my life before they close for the day.

I have fond memories of the Yatson restaurant when it was down town. I was incredibly happy when it re-opened in East Helena a few years ago and over the moon to discover the same chef still owns/operates it! Jeff has been cooking me wonderful meals for maybe 40+ years. Best Chinese food to be found in Montana.

The only place I will eat Chinese food in the Helena area.

My longtime friend wanted to go to Yat Son's for Pork Noodles
When she was a child, her parents took a kettle to the original shop on Last Chance Gulch and the owner's father would fill the pot with their homemade noodles! They make packages of the hardboiled eggs and marinated and roasted pork served of course with ketchup, mustard, and sesame seeds. It says something when you can step back in time and have a familiar meal with friendly staff and the ice cream scoop comes with dinner.

Have eaten here many times since moving back. Lacks the atmosphere of the old Yat Son downtown, but the food never disappoints.

We are so glad that Yatson's has opened again! Went there for dinner last night and it was so good! The staff was so friendly and the food was outstanding! They were very busy with not only the diners but they were swamped with take out orders! Everyone loves Yatson's!

Delicious food. Love the sweet&sour sauce and fried wonton. Jeff has delightful wait staff, they're always thoughtful. He runs a wonderful business.

Karma the waitress is awesome super fun and the food was probably the best here in Helena. Also filling and you get ice cream after! Will be our Thursday night thing

We love eating here. The food fresh and delicious. The service great. And Jeff makes the best pork ends. I am hungry thinking about it all.

One of our family favorites. Thursday nights if we aren't dining at Yat Sons, we wish we were. My brothers favorite is the Almond Chicken with fried rice and my favorite is Kung Poa Chicken, although the Egg Foo Yung is a close second.. Be sure and try the appetizers and soups, the spring rolls are AWESOME, and the Wonton soup is so good we usually order an extra one to take home. One of Yat Sons specialties are their homemade noodles, a family tradition since 1889, they are homemade and truly a hometown Helena treasure, just ask my kid, he has been raised on them.

Great food, awesome friendly staff and Jeff comes out to make sure we have everthing we need and chat a bit. Small and cozy. We've never been disappointed.

If only this place was open more days then I could get my egg rolls more often! Place is awesome and the staff are phenomenal. Highly recommend!

This is none of the best Chinese resturants I been to. The only bad thing is. Is that there menu is every small. But the food is wonderful
