Blaze-N-Gems Rock and Jewelry Shop

Visited in May with my dad, the folks running this charming shop were very friendly and informative. If Im remembering her name correctly, Sandy was a delight to talk to! Very reasonable prices. I bought a 3 ct heated, rough sapphire and had it professionally faceted, and a beautiful gem came out of it! My photos arent the best, but I was very pleased with the results!

Beautiful Montana sapphires! Very knowledgeable and helpful! Amazing opportunity to mine for your own sapphires in a beautiful area of Montana. If you don't know what to look for, he takes the time to answer your every question. His enthusiasm is infectious.

My wife and I went out to the mine with Blaze for 2 days. We ended up with about 15 stones that we wanted to send off and get cut, and many more that were too small or flawed to not cut. The digging can be hard work as you have to separate out a large amount of rocks and sand. However the size and color of the stones is worth the effort.

We did the mine your own sapphires. It was a lot of work, but definitely paid off. Blaze is super friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

So glad was able to make contact with James at Blaze-N- Gems. Drove over to Helena, picked out some beautiful facet rough Montana Sapphires. Will cut some fine stones! Great stuff, great staff, James and Sandy. Took two 50 lb bags of sapphire gravel with me when I left. They'll give me some fun when I get back home to NC. Highly Recommended.

What a wonderful place. Planned on just stopping by but ended up learning so much I stayed to talk for over two hours. Incredibly knowledgeable about everything from digging to panning to setting and so much more. Highly recommended! Taking home a couple bags of gravel to sift when I get home and already can’t wait to go back.

2 years ago we went to the mine site and screened several buckets of our own gravel, Blaze ran it through his jig for us at a reasonable cost and we recovered several nice Sapphires, one a very pretty blue with excellent clarity and it cut to about a 1/2 carat which made the digging, work, and cost very much worth it. Today we purchased a couple bags of his concentrated gravel and found another very pretty blue green Sapphire plus a few others totaling 29 carats with at least one cuttable that would easily cover the cost of purchase! They run an honest mine and offer friendly help and instruction for screening. Thank you Blaze! I highly recommend your mine to my friends :-)

We had so much fun at blaze n gems, we had traveled from Washington for my birthday and the blaze n gems sapphire mine was at the top of my list on places I wanted to rockhound. It was great seeing and learning how sapphires are mined and getting the hands on experience of finding them yourself by a professional! Blaze the owner is very helpful, friendly, hardworking and gave us the best experience we could have possibly asked for. I’d defiantly check out the mine and the blaze n gems shop, they have lots of cool stuff! Already looking forward to coming back the next trip we take to Montana!

Amazing selection of gems, minerals and fossils as well as a very reasonable price on their set jewelry, grabbed a very clear amber slab with a bug in the center, I'd take a look at their personal sapphire stock will definitely be back soon!

I have purchased several mineral specimens and have always been very pleased with the quality and pricing. Currently I am having a silver necklace designed to feature a picture agate from Montana. I enjoy visiting the friendly staff.
