Arrived near 8 pm on a Wednesday night in mid July. There were plenty of open sites. No water available in spigots but the bathroom with flush toilets was open and clean (no water from sink).

It was clear all night and we were on the brink of a new moon, so the Milky Way and stars were bright and highly visible.

$10 per night, 14 day stay limit. A lovely place to spend the night on 50.

I think this might be my favorite campground in Nevada. It’s certainly the one I visit most frequently (two or three times per year, for the last three years.) It’s conveniently located right off Route 50. It’s high enough (7,200 ft) to be cool at night, and not as hot as the valleys during the day. It’s very small (only ten sites) but the sites are spacious, with mature Pinyon, Juniper, and Sage as the main greenery. The campsite Pinyons are trimmed to provide shade. Each site has a parking area, a tent area, a metal table, fire pit, and grill. The whole place is very clean, and very quiet. I’ve never been here when the campground was full, and a few times I’ve been the only one here. For whatever reason, I’ve never seen a family here - mostly singles, and usually older. Yes, you can hear traffic on Route 50 during the day, but is faint and infrequent. As other folks have mentioned, there are bathrooms and water taps. No trash collection and no dump station. There are walking trails in the hills on both sides of the road.

My traveling partner Eric and I enjoyed a one night stay here. The campground is beautifully sited and very quiet. No light pollution at night so we enjoyed the full display of the Milky Way! Stunning! The facilities help assure a comfortable stay: water is available and the bathrooms are nice enough. We fully appreciated the quality experience this campground provided and I will seek to access it again in the future!

What a great spot in the traverse of Nevada that is Highway 50. Clean, well-maintained, adequately spaced sites and just a moment's trip away from Austin.

Great little campground right along the road - very little traffic at night so it's quiet. There is also a forest service road across the street for a nice walk with lots of wildflowers!

A self-service $10/night campground off the loneliest highway in America, this place was a great welcome and relief.

About three sites available when we pulled in around 8 pm. Many RVs, at least one of which was there due to CA wildfires.

Clean, charming sites of pinyon pine and sagebrush overlooking winding highway, hills, and ravishing sunsets. And p.s. a sometimes noisy semi truck pull-off.

Bathrooms had flush vault toilet, running water in sink, and water pumps available near sites.

Also nearby is the historic quaint town of Austin, NV.

A National Forest campground with water and flush toilets, spectacular scenery and many of the sites have a level enough place for your vehicle (useful if you sleep in your vehicle). We arrived early afternoon and less than half were occupied, and by 6pm there were still some sites available.

This is a dry camp, but they were installing some NEW water faucets. It is small with limited spaces. You must be watching for the turn and sign, it goes by fast. Some spots are not real level but overall a great place to stay. Also new pit toilet.

What a great place to camp. Stopped here on our ride across America. The night sky was incredible and the place so quiet in the middle of the night that I actually heard a "falling star" whiff out just near our campsite. Only noise was an occasional truck and the coyotes. Very memorable and yes a modern toilet facility and water.

Beautiful campground. Clean, quiet, and well laid out campsites. Bathrooms are very well maintained. Petroglyphs are not a far drive away - that's a fun spot as well. Hope to be back someday.

Great public campground. Potable water, flushing toilets, picnic tables, campfire rings and an iron ranger. $10/night as of 2018. Large pullouts are available at almost every sight for rvs and motor homes, some sights are back-in as opposed to pull through but still capable of fitting truck & trailer.

One of my favorite places to stay when traveling US 50. Great for stargazing and bats. Very close to the road, but not too close. I would not go there just to camp, but to camp out on a road trip it is the perfect spot!

Campground was just off the highway, fairly quiet but also full when we arrived. Thankfully there were free overflow spots just outside the camp gates that are perfect if you don't need any of its amenities.

Possible boondockers paradise. Well maintained forest service site with real bathroom. Decent camp sites, no hookup, for tent or mid sized camper. Group site best for shade if not marked as reserved it's yours. 4G service
(AT&T at least) as tower nearby. $5 or some stupid low fee. austin 10 mins away.

Rt 50 travelers do pull in to avail of the bathroom. Austin with all services 10 minutes away.

One of my favorite desert campgrounds. Only stopped for lunch this time. Clean campsites, great views, not crowded, and running water, with flush toilets.
