Adventure Rentals- Hill City

Great staff, friendly and very helpful they showed us some places on map that we did not know about. They even provided a map with added directions. We rented a slingshot. Machine was clean and well maintained and price for 4 hours was great.

Both the Custer and Hill City locations have some of the best customer service in the powersports rental industry. We started our day at the Custer location. We are very experienced and brought our own SXS’s to the Black Hills, we stopped in Custer to get our trail permits. Alex the owner of Adventure Rentals helped us get our stickers and fielded a ton of questions we had about trails and different sights to see. He sent us down to the Hill City to talk to Colby. Colby added about 8 waypoints with things to see. Keep in mind we were not paying customers they were just eager to help. We went on the trails and saw the things that Colby pointed out.( Miners Hotel, Slate Creek Dam and the trails around China Gulch Rd). Highly recommended this area and trails…… When we hit the HWY 385 on the way back one of our machines lost power with an electrical issue. We reached out to The Hill City location and Colby was more than happy to help us recover our machine and get it back to our camp at Palmer Gulch. He used his personal truck and trailer and hauled it to our camp for us. I can’t thank them enough for the help with our machine and showing us areas to enjoy the Black Hills!

We had a blast! The employees are very nice and knowledgeable! They gave us all the information needed to make our trip enjoyable and stress free. The machines are in great condition and well maintained. We highly recommend renting from them!!

We had a blast! Such great service and they really went the extra mile to make it a seamless experience. I really appreciated that each vehicle had its own tablet with full navigation, showing you exactly where you had been. They really thought of everything to make it a fun trip, and they were the nicest people to top it all off. Highly recommended!

We rented a Polaris RZR 4 seater and a 2 seater for 2 days. Couldn’t have picked a better business to rent these from! They made the process easy and we loved our machines! Amazing, friendly staff! We had a great time!! Highly recommend them!!

This was a new experience for our family. Was easy to rent instructions were pretty clear. Only issue we had was reading the map on tablet we got confused a bit. We kind of winged it ended up finding amazing trails and views so worked out.

I will definitely return. They were all so kind and the suggested trails were well worth going on. This is the 3rd place I've rented from and hands down the best in the Black Hills.

Such a great experience!! We are so glad that we decided to do a half day rental and see parts of the black hills that you would never see in a vehicle. Everything was explained thoroughly during the rental process and we were on our way. We spent a week in the black hills and everything we did was our favorite, but this was definitely the best !!

We had such a great time during our 8 hour rental. The staff were incredibly helpful and thorough prior to our departure. We went out with a group of 3 ATVs and all of our machines worked perfectly. We went out on a Sunday which worked perfectly for our time staying in the Black Hills and we believe that made this experience better, we were practically the only people out on the trails! Would definitely recommend this activity. Only recommendation would be, if you’re going out alone, make sure your map tablet is fully charged or maybe request a charger. Ours died about 5 hours in to our 8 hour ride; thankfully our friends were able to navigate for us.

The machines were well maintained and the staff very helpful in suggesting places to go and things to see. When one of our machines got a flat tire, the man that came to fix it was there quickly. He was friendly and got us back to having fun ASAP! We did purchase the extra insurance coverage for that. Great experience fitting kids for helmets and helping us install car seats for our littlest adventurers. The handheld tablet for navigation was also very valuable as cell phone coverage is limited.

Had a great time renting a two seater xp1000. Gps app tablet feature works well, but waypoints need to be better labeled on each tablet.

Vehicle was in good shape, good safety and operations discussion, efficient checkout and check inn.

Amazing experience!!!!! We are jeepers and they pointed us to some rugged trials and we were not disappointed. The give every rental a tablet with gps maps and everything was perfect. They said “that trail is a bit gnarly, go for it” not your typical rental…

Renting the Slingshot was spur of the moment and it was the most fun I've had! Driving Needles highway was a blast. I was so worried because we were about 15 minutes late...they said no problem! Oh and the coffee next door is also great! Thanks guys for an awesome time!

Absolutely amazing adventure. Madison, Kyle, and Tyler were extremely helpful. We took my 80 yo young parents and our 3 yo on a all day excursion. We saw parts of SD you just don't see unless you hike. The tablet with trail map app is beyond accurate and user friendly.

Silica Mine and Bear Mountain peak were just a couple of highlights. The memories made are priceless! Thanks

I really appreciate how well coordinated the entire operation is. They give you all of the tools you need to have a great time out on the trails. Hard to get lost. We rented the RZR turbo and had an absolute blast. The extra horsepower is worth the money. I would definitely rent from these guys again.

Adventure Rentals was an easy to reserve and fun way to spend part of a day in the Black Hills. Take your time and learn the mapping tablet is my only word of advice.

We rented a 4 person RZR and it was a blast. They give you a tablet to track where you are and so you know where to go. The trails were easy for a beginner and gives a whole new perspective of the Black Hills. I highly recommend this!
