Gator's Portside Port Canaveral

Got to try gator for the first time and it was pretty good. The server Niki made the whole experience fun. She was so friendly and kind took the time to get to know us. She made us feel so welcome in our last night in Florida. Highly recommend this location and highly recommend our lovely server Niki!!! A1!!

Very cool day. Ocean/river breeze. Outdoor seating dogs are allowed 😁. ' Morgan ' was phenomenal.. our pup has a huge crush on her. 🐶 The grouper special was so good. Pups didn't like gator 🐊. The lava cake is nommy! Great experience! Thank you!!

Stopped here the night before our cruise Dec 31st, great menu selection with really decent prices for a high tourist area was very pleasantly surprised ordered shrimp platter for about $15 and it was huge great crispy fries lots of fried shrimp that had been properly cleaned and butterflied before being deep fried to perfection. Their pineapple slaw is the best I’ve had anywhere. Wings were also really good we got the fried hot garlic. Good flavorful sauce. Service was excellent. The restaurant has plenty of spacious seating inside and outside in warmer weather. Only issue I had was with their bartender that night had a Long Island iced tea it was so bad I had to send it back and went with one of their excellent beers on draft. It was handled well so no complaints there. Would definitely come back next time we are in the areas again.

Location and service were fabulous. Enjoyed sitting outside with live music on a Sunday. Bottled beer was COLD! I personally thought the fish dip was way too salty but my boyfriend liked it. Morgan was an excellent waitress.

We went to the newly remodeled Gators Portside this past Saturday. They’ve done a great job to the patio and outdoor area, new deck, new furniture, new artificial grass area in front of the stage, live music and tiki bar and landscaping. They have a new menu with some old favorites but added new dishes! We went with the special of Wahoo fish, asparagus with rice. It was very good! Highly recommend checking them out!

I really enjoyed the food. I had a lobster tail with shrimp and mashed potatoes, Everything was well cooked well seasoned.
Surfin melon was way better than Long Island iced tea ads for more drink less ice.
Had key lime pie fir desert it was ok.

Service was a bit slow but ladies were nice the atmosphere was loud with music and loud chatter come for lunch don’t do dinner time I was here at 5:29p…but the view was beautiful you can sit overlooking the water.

I’d probably not come back here as I’ve had better but I do recommend you give it try if your looking for a waterfront view to sit and eat and other factors don’t bother you

The food is great, the atmosphere is fun, but service/getting your food can be slow.
Their burgers & gator tail bites are my favorites & if you are lucky you can look across the water to see a freshly launched SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket waiting to be picked up at the dock!

Great food, great venue, great view. Service was friendly but inattentive. Had the brunch, and the food was excellent.

A great dining experience. Nice spacious restaurant with a nice view of the dock. I would like to especially compliment our server Niki. A1 employee. Nice, friendly, courteous and engaging. My wife Tracey and son Jason and myself could not have been better looked after. She was absolutely wonderful to us. Please recognize her for her outstanding service. Thank you!

If you go to Gators, ask to sit by the water. Watch the ships come and go. The service is awesome, especially Selina. She is professional, knowledgeable and most of all friendly. We stopped in for cocktails and they were so nice to us.

A very large group of us got together for drinks and food. People were arriving and leaving at various times. The employees were gracious and speedy and handled everything so well! I had a cocktail and a beer which were both good and a buffalo chicken sandwich which I also enjoyed!

Gators Dockside Restaurant Review, Port Canaveral, Florida

Ashley, our server, was friendly and attentive, and Chef Phil prepared a delicious meal for our group of friends. We enjoyed dining on the dock with views of the passing cruise ships and the occasional windy breeze.

Appetizer: We shared the Chivechi included with purple sweet potatoe served with tostones, a Latin American  Caribbean type dish of fried plantains. The purple sweet potatoe was a nice Chivechi and flavorful, and the tostones were crispy and delicious.

Main Courses: Jay and Agnes had Mahi Mahi Tacos, which they both enjoyed. The Mahi Mahi was fresh and tasty, and the tacos were a somewhat flavorfully seasoned. 2/3 Yums.

Chuck had the soup of the day, which was corn and shrimp chowder with French fries. The soup was creamy and flavorful, with plenty of shrimp served room temp. 2.5/3 Yums.

Buck had the Mahi Mahi sandwich with pineapple coleslaw. The Mahi Mahi was cooked to perfection, and the pineapple coleslaw was a refreshing and delicious accompaniment. The pinapple coleslaw was missing a sweetness to give it a little kick. 2/3 Yums

Overall: We had a wonderful dining experience at Gators Dockside. The food was delicious, the service was near excellent, and the views of the port and cruise ships departing were amazing.

Caution to the wind. The menus take flight with occasional gust. When our table next to us, there menu launched from the wind and knocked over our drinks, Ashley was attentive to quicky sop up the split beverage and replace it. 2/3 WooHoo's

We would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal in Port Canaveral. Overall 2/3 Yums with service, food and atmosphere on the deck overlooking dockside to Port Canaveral. We all give Gators Dockside 2 out of 3 WooHoo's for service, atmosphere and the dining experience was 2/3 Yum yums. CptBuck

Very good service, food was as expected. Went with finger foods tonight but tried the ribs, they were good and the Apple Crisp desert was excellent. Outdoor scene is amazing with the view of a large cruise ship, Norwegian Escape, and the other terminals including cargo terminal cranes and the SpaceX fleet dock.

Will return.

A great evening, service was good I think the kitchen was in the weeds but no complaints! A togo box of wingers for leftover breakfast!

2.5.24 Been several times since. Tonight was a pleasant experience. Excellent Shrimp Tacos, Buffalo Cauliflower, Lobster Grilled Cheese was sooo good and the Mini Zucchini was amazing. Our server, Nikki, wrapped the entire experience superbly, friendly, helpful, and full of genuine personality. Fun.

It was a great evening to sit outside and watch all the activity. Kylie did a great job as our server. Unique menu, loved the Key Lime pie!

What a great place it's huge 👏has dockside views food and Drinks were really good.
Great place to spend a few hours here at Port Canaveral

A great sport bar vibe with great food and plenty of space for a crowd. It's general sports bar food: burgers, sandwiches, wings and of course, beer. It's a nicely diverse menu.

The staff were great and made sure everyone's needs were not only met, but paid attention to. It was never difficult to get a hold of our server.

Don't forget to get a pic with the alligator!

It was very pleasant. The staff was awesome. The food was good. It wasn't overcrowded. Life music was wonderful. Very nice view of the cruise ships. We will be back. Thank you.

Second time here and the food was still amazing. Love the restaurants atmosphere. We love that you can look out and see dolphins, sea turtles, cruise ships, etc. Waitress was also very friendly. Can’t wait til next year when we can visit again.

Loved every aspect of this place. Right on the water, was amazing food and tvs everywhere for the games, but located high enough to not be obnoxious. Our server was horrible, never around, never checked on us. Actually had 2 other waitresses help us on multiple occasions. They were amazing, ours was just horrible.

Loving the food at this Dockside. Had the blacken fish sandwich - it was awesome. Table on the water - live music at the Tiki bar. Can’t rave enough about this place.
