Texas Reds Steakhouse

Texas Reds Steakhouse is located in the small resort town of Red River, NM. I was skiing up here on my Ski cooper annual season pass (I highly recommend it, fantastic value, 3 free days at Red River ski resort since they are part of the partner pass program. )

Texas Reds is lodge & restaurant. The prices are reasonable when compared to the other restaurants. The atmosphere is great.

Service was excellent, kudos to Tyler the server, he was attentive, made great meal suggestions and had a great customer service attitude.

Atmosphere was great. Plenty of space between tables and the volume level of background sounds was quite tolerable.
There is a full bar and they have a musician too. Music selections as well as the sound level were excellent.

Food: first time here had the steak burger with sweet potato fries. Very tasty and a good value at $15.00. Dessert was a peach cobbler. It wasn't as quite what I expected, but was satisfactory.

Second time there, I ordered the filet mignon,(it was pricey at $31 for a 5oz steak, but it's difficult to compete with Quincys in Leadville, CO). The meal came with prezel bread. It was excellent. Tyler suggested the creamy horseradish condiment which was great with the filet mignon.
The cheesecake was to die for, and the portion was big enoughto kill you, it could have been shared easily between three people.

Although a little pricey, this place is on my radar when I am up here on vacation.

We frequented this restaurant at it's first location before it burned down and went on every trip to Red River which at that time was about 5 times a year. We recently started returning to Red River but due to crowds were never able to get into this present location. We were just there on a Monday 2/5. We arrived about 4:40 and we're seated immediately. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The filets were perfectly cooked. We are native New Mexicans and appreciated the appetizer of green Chile strips. We always put them in our steaks if available. The Chile wasn't spicy/hot at all which we understand the lack of heat in a tourist town. The Chile was very tasty anyway. Our server was friendly and helpful. We will definitely return. Presently they are closed on Tuesdays. We travel more during the week and we're happy they were open on a Monday. I recommend going on the earlier side. The evening we were there by about 6 people were having to wait but it didn't seem anywhere near as long as one has to wait Friday through Sunday.

We went here during the busiest time between Christmas and New Years and had an excellent meal for 7 people. The staff was extremely friendly, courteous, and wait staff was excellent. The steaks and quail were cooked perfectly and the appetizers and sides were excellent! We will definitely be back in future visits to Red River!

The last two times we had been to Texas Reds were not that great. However, since Sundance sucks now and isn’t even open except two nights a week, we decided to give Texas Reds another shot. They did not disappoint!

The service was amazing! The food was really good - we had elk burger, steak burger and a NY Strip at our table - all were wonderful!

Only bad part was I ordered coke and sent it back twice - tasted like diet - was horrible. Ended up just drinking water instead.

They’ve redeemed themselves! We will be back.

Prepare for a long wait. Fortunately, we snagged a table in the bar area (open seating). It's pretty tight, but they are awesome at service. The food is worth it!

Everything was good but they ran out of sides because they are so busy. The Elk burger is good. The Ribeye is absolutely amazing! A little weird that they put a cherry pepper on the plates. And they need more condiments for the baked potatoes. The cowboy soup has a little to much going on but the chicken noodle is amazing! Love the hot pretzel bread that they bring to the table.

Food was awesome. Cooked to order. Service was good. Only draw back was when getting a refill of Dr. Pepper they use a pitcher with ice in it. So it watered down. We know for next time.

Best Steak in Red River! Cool older western restaurant with good food and cold beer! They had a guy singing and picking on a guitar the night I was there also.

The food is delicious I would even say that the buffalo steak was the best I ever tried , the service is great, and if you want to get some more good impressions from ski resort , you visit this place, I sure you won’t to regret. I was well surprised with prices, dinner for two with double drinks and great cooked steaks cost for us 117$ .

First time to Red River and we decided on our last night to give this place a try. We were not disappointed!
I was told to get there by 5PM which is 30 minutes after open. Entertainment was small town awesome and food just amazing!

Family of 5, we had 3 filets, a strip, and a prime rib! All I can say is we were happy all around. Price to be expected but well worth it. I think we found a new family tradition.

Such a sweet staff, such great food, overall great experience! Left my purse there and hours before they opened the next day they let me come grab it. So nice

Clean cheerful environment. Excellent service. Excellent food. Nice bar selection of mixed drinks, beers and wines. They do not take reservations so if you're in a rush, don't waste your time, but it was well worth the wait, relaxing, in comfortable chairs. While waiting for our turn to be called for our table. The people around us we're friendly. We vacationed in Red River and our group liked this restaurant so much we ate dinner here twice.

Excellent atmosphere with live music (Mike Addington), great service from Nick and Charlie, and one of the best prime ribs I've ever had; trimmed and cooked to perfection. Nicely done everyone!

Very busy New years Eve, but the lobster and prime rib were amazing..2nd year earing here on New yeaes Eve. Highly recommend. Staff was amazing too.

This was a great place. It was full. That tells you what you should know when you read a bad review. Anyone can have a negative experience at anytime. Try feeding this many people everyday and everything is perfect. The food was all good. Our sweet server knocked herself out to meet our request.

Great old fashioned steakhouse. Ample portions, great atmosphere. We did a wedding locally, decided to stay in Red River at the Lodge. We didn't want go looking for a restaurant so we have Texas Red's a try. Great choice.

Amazing food and a fun atmosphere! The steak is amazing and the children's platter is perfect!!
