I was turned on to this camp ground from a friend of mine that talked so highly of steven the owner, I can tell you first hand this place is a hidden gem! I booked a spot for my hunting trip in the area and wow this guy steven is such a nice and amazing host, the place is super clean and we loved the little clubhouse with TV area and shower facilities. I will be staying the whole month forsure. Thanks again for everything.

I stumbled onto this place after a long day on the motorcycle and couldn't have been more pleased. Steve (owner) was enjoying his personal time, but made no hesitation to help me out and make me feel like a welcome member of the family. I had a great night, enjoyed the surroundings, and amenities, but mostly felt good about it due to Steve's hospitality and kindness. He strikes me as a man who's heart is bigger than his business and that's someone I like to support.

I’ve been staying with Steve at La Siesta campgrounds for more than 10 years now. It’s been amazing to see how much effort and time Steve and his crew popular place in the last 10 years. My family and I spend 6 to 10 weekends a year down there with him. He’s stills come out (even at 10:30 at night in the rain) to greet us and make sure we have everything we need for our stay. I can’t recommend him and La Siesta enough.

Wonderful campground. If you are looking for a place off the beaten path, this is it! It was a great setting with views of the surrounding hills & mountains. Steve, the host is very friendly & accommodating- he creates a community environment where you feel comfortable taking to anyone from long-term campers, to hunters, to people just staying a few nights to enjoy the peaceful area.
It is not a resort- so may be considered rustic to some, but the charm of the location more then makes up for it.
I stayed here for 6 weeks in an RV/ a motorcycle in tow. Took numerous beautiful rides - there’s lots to see within a few hours of winding roads

I need to start this off by saying a huge thank you to Mr. Steve (the Owner/Operator of La Siesta Campgrounds) as he was an amazing host. My Dad and I stayed in an open camp site while on a hunting trip a few weeks ago. It was super clean, felt secure, and quiet. You can’t really beat the location of the campground and it really gives you peace of mind when you leave camp that your gear is secure. The campground also has camp trailers and group tents for rent on the property if you don’t want to tent camp or bring your own camp trailer out. Now that I know about, and have experienced the campground, I will always book here when in the area. Thank you again Mr. Steve for making this an amazing experience for my Dad and me.

What a hidden gem. I loved it there. So quiet and remote. They had a rental trailer, pretty sure it was brand new. The guests were very friendly. The place was super clean. Steve the owner is a genuine great person and he cares about his guests. Make sure to book a tour with the UTVs they have from Tucson Adventure Rentals too. I will hopefully get back and stay longer next time

I stayed here January 21 as part of my Sky Islands Odyssey loop bike packing tour. I rented one of Dave’s RVs to shower and sleep in for the night and it was 100% worth the money. The outside temperature dropped to 26, but I slept totally comfortably in the RV. In the morning Dave surprised me with some breakfast since he knew I missed dinner in town the night before. So nice, friendly, and easy to deal with.

I have stayed multiple times at La Siesta the last couple of years and I love it. The staff is very friendly. Being able to leave my trailer unattended while I'm out hunting and not worry about things being taken is incredible. I will always plan on staying at La Siesta when I'm down in Arivaca.

I love it. It isn't super fancy but everyone is nice. You can RV camp or tent camp or air bnb a toy hauler when they are available. It's very reasonable price wise and you have laundry, bathroom's, and showers. It's makes camping really great and it's close enough to town if you need anything. Very hunter friendly.

This campground is perfect for me. It is quiet and peaceful. I feel safe here and the scenary is beautiful. I have spent many days here and all have been very pleasant. In spring, migrating songbirds stop here on their way. Arivaca is a tiny town that has alot going on on the weekends. There are Quads here for rent. The campground host is awesome. Steve is very kind and gracious and has really helped me alot being I was a new RVer.

Steve is a great host. Just spent the evening at the La Siesta camp grounds celebrating Damon Goodman son's birthday. Great food and great friends. Thanks Steve

We stayed at La Siesta after hunting season was over and got to enjoy a gorgeous view, quiet relaxed atmosphere, with very comfortable and quaint accommodations. We stayed in the Pioneer RV and it was perfect for us, comfy and clean. Steve was the perfect host, made sure we had everything we needed and went out of his way to make us feel at home. Margaret was so welcoming and ensured we had a clean comfortable RV. We highly recommend this place. We were visiting family at the Wildlife Refuge nearby, and were so lucky to have found La Siesta. Inexpensive, too, just the icing on the cake. Thank you Steve and Margaret! Regards, Heidi and mark

My family and I wanted to go camping for a couple of days and we were set on going to Burnt Corral campground. Looks like a decent place to camp but the good sites (even numbered) sit lakeside and are first come first serves. We thought we should try knowing it's a 2 + hour drive. Thinking about it we decided what if people were there and checked in a day prior? We don't want to drive back home to ruin our trip so I found La Siesta campgrounds online. Reservations only done through email. It was the night before and about 8:30 pm I thought I'd try. Vickie responded almost immediately saying that had plenty of room. Fantastic! We made our journey the next morning. Upon arriving we checked in and Vickie said that we had the entire campgrounds to ourselves and to choose. We did. Of course we're in a tent and it was windy and cold so we had major problems putting it up. Very frustrating 😕. E finally got set up, did the normal things. Campfire, smores, and food. The temps reached a balmy 34 degrees that first night, needless to say, I sleep very well in cold weather, but my family had a really bad night. The next day. Nice weather! I met up with Steve who I must say is the most gracious and friendliest host you will ever meet. Concerned about how my family almost froze to death he (Steve) offered a propane tent heater with propane! What? OMG! THANK YOU! We couldn't get it to work! He took it upon himself to let us sleep in a pop-up camper that is a rental! This really topped everything! I really must say that people like Vickie and Steve are a rarity and need to be supported. I highly recommend that you see for yourself! I don't think you'll be disappointed! We're definitely going back!

My brother and I stayed in one of the trailers at La Siesta Campground while hunting Coues deer from Nov 29 - Dec 1. It was the perfect place for us in our situation. Steve Rendon was great to deal with before and during the stay - he was very pleasant, helpful, and flexible. We were both successful on our hunt early and decided to check out early to get home to take care of the deer meat we had and Steve was gracious to let us leave early and refunded the money for the nights we did not stay. This place is 2 thumbs up for any hunters looking to have a place to stay while they enjoy the area!!

We stayed at La Siesta as part of a larger group, and thank goodness they had booked this place as we had a fantastic time! Some amenities are a work in progress, but you won't regret staying here - a diamond in the rough! Steve, the owner, is as friendly and helpful as you could hope for, and goes out of his way to ensure everything is perfect for your stay. We are local (Tucson), but are looking forward to going back to La Siesta regularly as our little getaway from the city.

Steve and his staff made this a wonderful experience. There's a great selection of beautifully renovated vintage trailers to choose from, all with views! We extended our stay just because we didn't want to leave. Ronald and Donald (the inseparable ducks in the pond) provide hours of entertainment. Bonus is the Buenos Aires refuge nearby which is a great 2mile hike where we were fortunate enough to see two long eared owls and one great horned owl. Highly recommend LA siesta just for the experience!

Really enjoyed our stay at La Siesta. The area in and around the campground is very scenic and peaceful. Steve was an excellent host and ensured our stay here was excellent. Cant wait to come back soon. Great place for family outings. The Jensen family

I camp. A lot!
I'm not a big fan of campgrounds. I call that fancy camping. I'd rather pull off a SR or fire road somewhere and boondock in the woods.
That being said, one of my absolute favorite places is La Siesta Campground. It's incomparable! It has all the creature comforts you could possibly desire and (I cannot stress this part enough) 5 star hospitality! Definitely a home away from home. It can be the most peaceful place, or an excellent meeting ground for friends; both old and new. Already have the next 2 trips here planned and there will always be many more!

This campground is awesome. Steve and his staff were so helpful and kind. Spent four nights in one of the safari tents. It was very comfortable. I will be back and I will recommend to all my friends and family.
Thanks Steve!
