Backflip Beach Bar & Kitchen

Great sea view bar with great food and reasonable prices. I had the best fish and chips I had in my life. Atmosphere was great. Views were great. Waiters are quite available and quick but they don’t come and disturb you every three minutes asking if you need something else.

This restaurant is also open to public as a walk in. You don’t need to be staying at the hotel. The valet also allow you to self park your car for 10$.

It is a must try, far better than restaurants at the lauderdale by the sea.

This is our favorite beach bar in Fort Lauderdale. Wonderful views, a great vibe, friendly staff and surprisingly decent food. If you’re staying anywhere in metro FLL, you should give it a try.

Not many beach bars around here. This spot was nice with good food and drinks at a decent price. The views are nice and it is right on the sand.

Such a fun vibe for a drink on the beach!!! Great places to hang outside. Further away from the crowds when we were there, so it was great.

We really enjoyed it here! Laid back atmosphere- beachfront. Never felt rushed to leave- had plenty of time to enjoy our drinks and food. Our table enjoyed the shrimp tacos, fish tacos and steak sandwich. Our server Nikki was AWESOME! I have never tried ginger beer before which was in the drink I wanted to order. She brought me out a sip to try and I loved it! Her service was above and beyond. She could’ve just tried to explain it- and I probably would’ve passed. Excellent service- food was hot and fresh. Perfectly timed throughout our visit. If your looking for a reasonable portion and some tasty food and drinks while chillin by the ocean- this is the place for you!

Great casual place with a beautiful view of the beach. The shrimp tacos were really good. The happy hour beers are five dollars and there are some nice craft options. Lynne was a great server. Our kids had fun playing soccer on the beach while we waited for our food. We'll be back!

Oh man the food was so good! Drinks were spot on, and the ladies serving you were nice and had a sense of humor. Finding free parking may be tough, but dogs are welcome (we didn't know) so we will be going back with our pooch.

We had the blackened Mahi burger and veggie tacos. The sides were also very good :)

Hidden behind Plunge Hotel, this bar is a gem! Overlooks the ocean, good vibe, good music, great service, food and drinks! Glad our friends ran into it by mistake. We'll be back very soon.

My husband and I enjoyed Backflips for their location on the beach, food and service was great! We will be back for sure.

Literally right on the beach. We walked along the beach and stumbled upon the bar by chance. Guacamole and shrimp tacos are fantastic, bartenders are friendly and make good drinks, shout-out to Cindy and Laura. Our new favorite spot on the beach

My boyfriend and I have been coming back here for years! Julie has made our experience a great one, she’s so personable and makes sure that you’re taken care of! We love the Plunge!

Julie was a phenomenal bartender. Personable, realist, and down to earth. She made our 5+ yearly visit enjoyable. We’re looking forward to coming back.

Food was good, staff was friendly, and location was pretty nice too. You have a view of the beach while eating your food.

Lindsey was the BOMB at the beach bar all day today (Saturday). She was quick, friendly, delivered our food and drinks to us in literally a minute. Food was great. Lindsey’s drinks were exceptional!!! Love this cool outside bar. So Don’t ever forget, “Always take care of your waitresses and Bartenders.” Covid has been rough on them all.

Skeptical of the rating, but yes, it was a hidden gem and mostly away from the spring break crowd. As a new local, I will definitely go back there again. I think they actually had better fish tacos than the famous taqueria on the corner of a1A and commercial.

The entire staff is very friendly.

I would suggest ownership to get a wifi extender for the bar as the wifi signal is weak.

This place is a hidden gem. Why it was so empty I have no idea. Scott is a fantastic bar tender. Perfect for his place in time. The food was excellent. There is nothing better than eating in your swim trunks looking out on the beach and ocean. Can't recommend this highly enough. I'm ready to live here full time.

Terrific find nestled away behind a hotel pool right on the beach. Fish tacos are terrific. Servers are friendly. This is a hidden gem and a great unpretentious local joint.
