This is an independent botique that I found in Fort Lauderdale. The lady managing it owns another branch about a mile away, and puts her heart and soul in fashion!

I only came in for a quick glance for something for my mother, and she was very attentive and friendly. Also, she did not push anything on me, which I very much appreciate from salespeople!

Lastly my tip: Great customer service, just ask for help and everyone is so kind!

I hated everything about this store. The saleswomen were extremely rude and arrogant. What I hated most was that the prices of the items changed several times within the 15 minutes I was in the store. First, I found a 2-piece outfit on a sale rack that the saleswoman said was $25 altogether. After I tried it on and it fit, she then said the price was $50. Then I tried on a dress that was also on the sale rack, which said prices were between $25-$50. I asked the same saleswoman the price of the dress, to which she replied that I had to try it on first to see if it would fit before she could tell me the price. She also kept insinuating that the dress likely wouldn’t fit before I tried it on, which I found disrespectful. I tried on the dress and it fit, so she took the dress back and said the best she could do was $150. She kept claiming that no one fit in the dress, so if I did, she would give me a good deal on it. When the dress fit, the story changed and she upped the price. I said I was still deciding on the dress, but she starting wrapping it up in a bag and pushing us to purchase the dress even when I made it clear I wasn’t sure that I was going to buy it. When I didn’t buy it, she got mad. I overheard the two saleswomen talking about us saying something along the lines of, “I’m not dealing with that today” and the other saleswomen said something like, “Yeah I don’t blame you.” Speaking like that in front of customers is completely rude and unprofessional. I will NEVER shop at Sondro again. I would much rather take my business somewhere else where the saleswomen aren’t pushy, judgmental, and outright rude. Do NOT shop here!!

I'll start with I'm sorry that I have to give them at least one star in order to post this.

I had been a loyal customer of Sondro Fashions for many years, purchasing many gowns for myself and my family. When my daughter got engaged, it was my first stop. The salespeople were wonderful and tried to help me to find the perfect dress. The bride had one request, that I not wear black. When the only dresses that I found WERE black, the saleswoman said I could buy the dresses (I found 2), continue looking elsewhere, and then return one or both for an exchange after the bride saw them (She lives out of town). I asked if there was a time limit for the exchange and was assured that there was none. This was in June and my daughter was to be married in October. I was told to take the dresses, and come back to get one altered in August or September, in time for the wedding if she chose one, and return for a store credit at any time if not.

The end of August I went to Sondro at the Cove (not knowing at the time they have different owners) and purchased a purple gown that my daughter and I loved.

I went this past weekend to Sondro Fashions and had the worst experience possible. From the moment I stepped in the store I was dealt with aggression. The salesperson told me it has been too long and I could not exchange the dresses. I tried to explain what the previous salesperson had told me, but she did not care. I asked to speak with the owner and was put on the phone with a woman who had no interest in hearing anything about me being a loyal customer, or about what her employee had told me, or any kind of reason at all. She clearly did not want to take back the gowns after 5 months and basically called me a liar when I told her that it was the salespersons idea. We went around and around until reluctantly she agreed to the exchange, with the stipulation that I had to use it THAT day. I had to spend the $1000 (2 gowns at $500 ea) in credit right then and there or lose it.

I tried, I couldn't - I told her that I looked and found $800 of clothing I didn’t really want and that I was unhappy. Her answer was to come back when she was in, the following weekend. When I explained that I couldn't that weekend because I would be in NY, then I "wasn't working with her". I then asked if I could buy $550 worth or the clothes and exchange one dress, pay the difference and come back another day with the second dress and was told no. She wanted me to buy the $800 worth of clothing I had just told her I did not want, return one dress, and pay the difference of $300 - or I would get nothing. She actually wasn’t going to make the exchange now, unless she made more money. I left the store, with my two gowns, promising to never return and to tell anyone who would listen how Sondros treats their customers like gold when they have money to spend - but with contempt and aggression if they run into a problem and need to return it.

Sidenote: The dresses had never been out of their protective bags, complete with tags and in perfect condition. One salesperson said when she saw one of them, "I wish this was here yesterday, I could have sold it" - the other dress was actually being tried on by another customer while I was in the store. Sondro would have had no problem re-selling either of the 2 gowns.

After I left, the owner FINALLY called the original salesperson and learned that what I said was true - She had her call me, and then she called and emailed me herself trying to get me to come back to the store to make the exchange. I wrote that I do not want to wear her clothes ever again, nor step in her store. That her contempt for me was palpable and she should be ashamed of her behavior.

One last side note: Sondro at the Cove in Deerfield Beach is a different owner and this review is NOT intended for that boutique. I purchased the dress that I ultimately wore at he Cove and had a wonderful experience. This review is ONLY for the boutique on NE 33rd Street in Ft Lauderdale.
