Florence S. Shanklin Library

We both love this library ..... Our grandchildren participate in the great programs offered ..... the staff are very friendly, professional, and always helpful. The library is a great asset to our community .... Bud & Jeanne Hawkins

On May 10, 2023, I attended Baby Storytime with my grandson at Florence L. Shanklin Library in Denver, NC. This program was incredible. The person who lead the program was Erin the Librarian Assistance, who did an outstanding job with presentation. She was very well prepared for the activity by providing a sheet with all the baby rhymes for the adults to follow along with her. She brought a such great deal of enthusiasm to the delivery of both the stories and the rhymers she presented. The children were engaged in the program by clapping their hands, stomping their feet and raising their hands. I think, Erin was having was more fun than the children and the adults at the gathering. After the stories and the rhymes were completed, Erin provided the children with books and toys play with. Also, this gave the adults time to socialize each other.

I was very glad we came to Baby Storytime which we both tremendously enjoyed and we will definitely come back again. I highly recommend this activity for all parents and their children to participate in.

Lincoln County Public Library System and their staff provides these great services to the residents of Lincoln County and I am very thankful to them for doing these programs.

The Florence S. Shanklin Library in Denver, NC is outstanding. The staff is extremely polite and very professional. Also, the staff is highly knowledgeable and tremendously helpful with the computer and office equipment area of the library. The library is clean and well organized. The library offers a great number wonderful events and programs for children, teens and adults. I am very impressed and greatful for the services that the library provides for the community.

This is a very nice library. It’s on the small side, but still has everything you need. There’s a nice kids corner with four or so computers. It’s never really crowded. On the library’s property, there is a nice walking trail. Not a long trail, great for the little ones.

Best story time ever on Tuesday mornings at 10:30am. It's for 3-6 year olds. My mom came to visit from St. Louis where she is familiar with libraries there over several decades. She gave the Shanklin Branch story time rave reviews and said the story teller (name?) was one of the best she has ever heard. Also, I have three year old twins and they love it! :)

My kids always loved this library & now I take the kids that I babysit here, too, & they also love it! Tomorrow morning we're going to try Story Time. I'm hoping it's as good as some people have said it is.

My granddaughter has a I pad at home but she loves to use the small town library and she meets the best people around. Thanks to all the employee your great and she loves story time. Again great job

Honestly - they have always been able to get a book that I want if it isn't immediately available in the branch.

I love searching online, and then having them hold it for me!

These times are still trying and we haven't returned to normalcy yet, but Alan Burch provided me the solution I needed to continue with my day to day necessities. He made the trip worth it.
