Chou and Chou Family Dentistry

I absolutely love this dentist's office and felt compelled to write a review after the amazing service I had today. I have been a patient of Chou and Chou Dentistry since 2015 and I have always had a great experience. I hate to see that they have negative reviews; however, I believe it is solely because their main receptionist retired some time ago and I think it took some time to find the right fit. I truly believe any kinks that were there, which I personally never experienced, are gone. Dr. Michael is truly a gem and I love his spirit and personality. I went for a filling today and he was so gentle with me. He let me know what he was doing the entire time and was so accommodating. His kindness is so appreciated! This dentistry was recommended to me four years ago because I was new to the area and I'm so glad it was. Highly recommend!

This dentistry deserves such a better rating than it currently has. The Chou brothers are incredibly gentle, considerate, and soft-spoken professionals. I have incredibly sensitive gums and teeth (cold, pressure, and flossing), a fear of needles and drills, and a tendancy towards anxiety and hypochondriasis. Despite these challenges, never have I had an uncomfortable nor unsatisfactory experience with Chou & Chou.

I recently had two entirely satisfactory experiences within a single week. The first, I had genuine //craters// of tooth decay and sizable buildups of plaque and tartar taken care of at my gum line on three teeth, one even being a back-most upper molar (really hard to get to). No pain, relatively painless recovery even without pain relievers, and beautiful results! The second, I came in for a cleaning, and on-the-spot asked to have a surprise aching tooth and cavity in the side of a lower molar filled-- they saw to me immediately and it was done within 10 minutes!

The Chou twins and their staff have never done me nor my parents wrong by appointment nor by practice. Just book appointments as in advance as possible (mornings are the most flexible if you expect to need follow-up work), and don't let the ratings scare you off!

I've been coming to Chou and Chou since 2011 and have had a great experience. They are always prompt and professional. The staff and dentists are all friendly and helpful. They never over prescribe treatments like I've heard at other places which I appreciate.

Was surprised to hear the Chou brothers are retiring and somewhat hesitant to switch dentists after receiving great service thru the years....However, after meeting Dr. Patel, I was immediately at ease...AND best part is my teeth look fantastic!! Also shout out to Terri, for your kindness and professionalism....and a special welcome to Dr. Patel.

Doctors Stephen and Michael have been my Dentists since 1998. My wife, and I, and our three kids always found them and their staff professional, courteous and friendly. They are retiring and passing the practice to Dr. Pratik Patel. I wish them well in their retirement and look forward to Dr. Patel's expertise.

Great experience! Very professional and courteous. loved the receptionist. I can recommend this practice. I felt very comfortable being there even though I am afraid of dentist procedures. I will definitely be going back.

Drs. Chou and Chou have retired, and the clinic has transitioned to a new name, Greensboro Ivory Dental, with a new dentist, Dr. Pratik Patel. He seems lovely.

The brothers were the family dentists every since I can remember. I relocated to the Triangle and kept the same dentist because they’re great! I contacted the new office owner about having my recommendation sent over for the oral surgeon as I was told during my last visit I needed to have a wisdom tooth extraction. I provided the receptionist with all of the information she needed and was told it would be faxed. About a week later (yesterday), I woke up with an abscess above my wisdom tooth. I called the emergency line and was asked to send my name, DOB, and preferred pharmacy’s address. I contacted them around 7am. At 2:30pm I called the pharmacist to check on the status of my prescription and was told that no prescription was sent. I called the office of the dentist, they were closed and I left a message. I contacted the emergency line again and let them know what the pharmacist said. This man said, and I quote, “ Hello, I am sorry to inform you that I will not be able to call in antibiotics for you bc we haven’t seen you since august 2019. If you were to regular patient where we see you every six months and have updated medial and dental history I would be able to call in but legally I won’t be able to do so in your case since I never seen you and we don’t have any recent records of yours. You are welcome to call office Monday to make an appointment to be seen.
Thank you”.

I come once a year for a routine teeth cleaning and did not go last year due to the pandemic. I don’t know any family who wanted to risk their lives last year for a teeth cleaning. There was no remorse for this infection that could have easily spread elsewhere. I had to contact my primary care provider to get a prescription for antibiotics and I made an appointment with a new dentist for my surgery consultation because that referral was never sent. I understand everyone has protocol but if I contact you for a referral and a dental emergency, I would like to be updated on the status of those reports. Not told it can’t happen after I call in for antibiotics that were never sent either. Very unprofessional and completely unacceptable .

Phone rings and rings no answer or recording to leave a message. Front desk personnel should be replaced. My granddaughter went in for a cleaning. Did not get it done but they did exam and took xrays. They were to call back for another appointment. Never called her back. Find another dentist also with better hours they close at 3:30.

Horrible service from a profession that costs too much money out of pocket! Front desk staff has to be the most unorganized and unprofessional group I've seen in a long time. Dentist and hygienist are a great bunch here, but if the unprofessionalism persists with the front desk coordinators, they could potentially lose a lot of patients.

Not only did they put me down for a completely different time and date for my appointment, but when they called to confirm for this incorrect time and date, they said they would get back to me within 24 hours. They never called back, said they couldn't find my appointment when I called, and refused to get me in before my Groupon deal expired when they had now lost my appointment twice. She also hung up on my multiple times.

The one star is for the lack of customer service the front desk provides...the doctor and hygienist are great, but I’ve reached my boiling point dealing with their front desk staff. They are not accommodating and never return calls/reply to online inquiries. They canceled my appointment when the hygienist called out and never called back to reschedule. I call yesterday and they offer me a last minute appointment...if not I’m out of luck until August. There’s a bad wreck on Wendover and I’m calling to let them know I’m behind. My appointment was at 2:40 and I pull in the parking lot at 2:54...she’s calling to tell me we have to reschedule. After being stuck and traffic and trying my best to get there I am over it! I will be transferring my care elsewhere since when I expressed my concern nothing was done anyways!
