Mamma Onesta's Italian Restaurant

What a wonderful genuine family owned Italian restaurant in the heart of downtown Canton Ga. We were greeted by the owner who seated us. She was oh so pleasant! Our waitress' name was JJ. She had the greatest customer service. She was so helpful in explaining the menu and giving suggestions. Our food was so delicious and dessert was amazing. Chrismas music was playing and the atmosphere was cozy and you felt at home. Hubby had the eggplant parmesan, and I had the chicken francese. For my appetizer, I had the mozzarella carozza. I never had something like that before. It was amazing.

My husband and I went here for our one year anniversary and we were not disappointed! We had been missing really good Italian food like we have found when we lived in New York- this restaurant was absolutely delicious and the service was really great! We will definitely return!

We were looking for a place to stop in Canton on our way back from North Georgia. Being a Sunday, a good restaurant is hard to fine. We found Mama Onesta's and luckily they had a cancelled reservation which we were glad to accept. The place is a great small old world Italian place. Atmosphere was wonderful.There are probably about a dozen tables so reservations are highly recommended. Our server Rachel was excellent. Attentive and very pleasant and conversational. Melanie (one of the owners) visited with us as well. All of which makes you feel like your family/friends of old. Prices were good and the servings were generous. Enough for a take home lunch the next day. We had the Shrimp Parmigiana and the Chicken Scarpariello. Both were very good and hearty. Not typical italian but I would say these were a bit more Tuscany region. Definitely will return and so nice to find a nice quiet Italian place in the world of wings and BBQ.

Christmas music playing, kind owners greeting us, good service, the best homemade bread, & amazing lasagna!! I highly recommend making reservations as the restraunt is small & fills up quickly. Ask for the table by the bar if you have 8-10 people, it creates a nice & private setting. We also had the chicken parm & alfredo pasta, which was really good too!

Hubby and I have been meaning to try this place for a while now and I'm so glad we went. The atmosphere is very cozy and the staff delivers stellar service. The food and drinks were awesome! The chef was actually the co-owner and you can tell he takes pride in his food.

On a whim, we decided to make a reservation based on all of the nice reviews and the reservation really lived up to its reputation. Great service and delicious food! We ordered a bottle of Merlot and toasted ravioli for an appetizer. Then for dinner, I had manicotti with meat sauce (YUM!) while my boyfriend had chicken parmesan. We also snuck a slice of mousse cake home with us for later. Will definitely be back soon.

We have visited several times over the last 3 years. Each time we have been happy with our food choices as well as the service and ambiance. The owners are amazing and totally committed to the quality and comfort they can bring to their patrons. It continues to be one of my favorites in Canton for real Italian food.

We just happened to wander in and get seated without reservations. The staff and owners were very friendly. The food was delicious. The bread was incredible and is made fresh daily by the owner. We will definitely be going back. I’m excited to try some other items on the menu.

This restaurant was phenomenal!! The atmosphere here was so beautiful and relaxing. I was welcomed by Melanie who treated me like family even though this was my first time eating there. She provided the best hospitality to me. My server JJ was so sweet and provided excellent customer service. She recommended many options but gave her best advice based on what I was craving to eat. Her positive attitude and willingness to serve definitely makes me want to come back. The food was so delicious and for the price, the portion was so filling. This restaurant is definitely a must eat. I really appreciate Melanie for making me feel at home. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience.

Very elegant dining room. Candle light , table cloths, cloth napkins, classical music, very attentive wait staff are what you will find here. We happen to find it by looking for restaurants close by us on Google maps. We were greeted by Melanie (owner), which explained due to their size, they mostly only take reservations. Since they had a table available, we could have it. Mario (owner) , came by our table to make sure everything was ok, & to welcome us.
If you are looking for a romantic evening out, this is perfect! On Sundays, Lorenzo (the pup) gets to hang out. 😊 We will definitely go back, but make a reservation first.

Exceptional experience at this Italian restaurant! From the warm ambiance to the delectable dishes, every moment was a culinary delight. The attentive staff and authentic flavors make it a must-visit. Grazie mille for a memorable dining experience!

Me and my sister came here and had antipasti, entrees, wine, dessert and even espresso and it was all SO GOOD. First, when we came in they told us they usually do reservations only on the weekends! So please keep that in mind if you want to go during the weekend. But they found seats for us at the bar and we love sitting there so that was fine with us. We ordered the escargot which was perfectly cooked and delicious, and the bruschetta. Both antipasti dishes were amazing. They have house made bread rolls that are some of the best rolls you will ever have! Next we ordered their special for the week which was a house made fresh ravioli stuffed with shrimp and lobster in a creamy sauce. The sauce was thick but not too thick and the ravioli were actually sizable too. Dessert was the perfect way to end the night: the caramel cheesecake was divine and they are known for their bread pudding so we HAD to try that and it was soft, delicious, balanced on flavor from every bite! (This one was made with chocolate dipped strawberries but I think they might change it up depending on the current menu/season). Lastly we had an espresso and overall were so happy and stuffed. The staff was friendly from very beginning to the very end! Johnny our bartender and server was a superstar. We will def be coming back here!

Atmosphere is relaxed, inviting and very "studious." The dinner rolls and absolutely thr best of any restaurant I have ever had. Server was incredibly attentive. Other staff were always looking to make sure we did not need anything. After the food was delivered she goes, "I'm going to leave now, and let you enjoy the silence of a happy stomach. Do yourself a favor and try the sausage and peppers pasta. Have a nice dinner!

I had the most incredible experience at Mamma Onesta! Mellanie and Mario, the owners, generously allowed me to use their space for a marriage proposal; they went above and beyond helping me make sure it was absolutely perfect! Thank you so much once again for helping me make such a special night unforgettable!

Our families joined us for dinner and our server Rachel provided impeccable service! She was very attentive, knowledgeable, and ensured all of our food requests were met flawlessly. The food was hot and authentic! Everybody loved their food choices! Delicious marinara sauce! The owners Melanie and Mario frequently checked up on us throughout the night showing they care about their customers. As a seasoned server myself I can say Mamma Onesta is a well organized and ran establishment! I would recommend this restaurant to anybody that craves Italian food! Delicious food, excellent service, and excellent hospitality! 10/10!

We happened upon this gem while in the area and we are so glad we did! We had the best little unexpected date night. The owners are so charming and welcoming! The food was PHENOMENAL. We had an appetizer, two entrees, and dessert, and everything was 5 stars!! Our server, JJ, answered all our questions and had great recommendations. The food was coursed out perfectly; we never had a long wait between courses. Definitely check out this spot!

My wife and I were on our way home on a long trip and had an urge for some Italian food so we decided to stop in for dinner. Wow! Very nice atmosphere without being too formal. How unusual to have the owner greet and seat you and the waitress so pleasant too. The food was delicious and distinctive from the average Italian restaurant. To complete a wonderful meal, Mario, Mama O's husband and chef, stopped by everyone's table to check on their satisfaction with their meal. We'll be back!

Truly authenic Italian food. We love the menu. Owners are involved in all aspects of the business. They make you feel at home. What a great place to go for special occasions. Love this restaurant.

OMy this was amazing amazing!! I had the lasagna because I know if that's good other dishes are good too. The sauce was so fresh and it was a big piece for leftovers. Their rolls are also delish!! The hostess and waitress were super friendly. It's $$ but our whole family is coming here this week to try. Can't wait! 😋

The most perfect Italian restaurant this side of Chicago! Melanie, Mario and Shannon are Fabulous!! The manicotti MELTS in your mouth and the meatballs are out of this world. Cute, cozy and friendly - the perfect date place. Make your reservations ASAP!!
