L. Marie's

This was our first time here. Very cozy atmosphere with relaxing jazz music playing. We had no wait ahead of us and were sat immediately. I ordered the fried chicken with mac & cheese and sweet potato souffle. Husband ordered smothered fried pork chops, greens, and cabbage. Mother-in-law had the veggie plate. The pork chops and fried chicken were HUGE and SO flavorful. The chicken took about 20 minutes but was so worth it. Everything on the plates tasted homemade. Seasonings were on point. Now.. Let me tell you about that bread pudding... The BEST I've ever had. The first bite I literally let out a sigh. I was sharing it with my husband and I wish i had one to myself. The whole meal felt like 'home'. My MIL got the peach cobbler and said it was great as well. Service was great, waitress was friendly. Can't think of any negatives!

Now excuse me while I dream about that bread pudding!!

All their desserts are homemade! The two we ordered were super delicious!
Everyone on staff is so friendly and always smiling, we felt so welcomed from the minute we came inside.
We enjoyed the fish bites appetizer; the fish was very light and tender, cooked to perfection.
The meatloaf was very good, the sauce on top had a BBQ sauce flavor, with a nice smokey taste and hint of heat. The portion was really hearty, and great amount for you if you're hungry.
The squash casserole and macaroni and cheese sides were very good, tasted like something homemade that a grandma would make!
The key lime leches cheese cake was fantastic, very creamy and smooth!
The atmosphere was very bright, clean, and airy, and the band was setting up as we were finishing with our meals, I can only imagine how good the live music was going to be later on.
The only constructive criticism that I would like to mention (so as to help the business improve) are 1. The diet coke was flat, ...maybe it's not ordered that often? (I was happy that the server was so kind and replaced it with another drink of choice), and 2. Although the bread pudding was amazing, it seemed to have some finely chopped nuts and possibly a different type of bits of fruit throughout, but we couldn't get the staff to tell us what the fruit was, or if it had nuts in it; the person we asked about it smiled and replied several times, "it's a lot of love in there". I'm extremely allergic to kiwi, therefore I'm very concerned/cautious about what fruits are in foods that I can't easily identify whether or not it is kiwi.
Looking forward to coming back and enjoying more delicious food and homemade desserts when we can! 🥰

The only problem is deciding what to eat because everything is so good. We had the crab and catfish - and the ox tail and both were amazing. Don’t skip the dessert either that bread pudding is fire!

This is probably the BEST soul food restaurant I've eaten at in the metro Atlanta area. All of them have been delicious , but the hospitality, the freshness of the from scratch food, the excellent balance of seasonings, portion sizes, and ambiance put this place at the top of the pack. I initially thought the $7 price tag was a bit steep for a piece of sweet potato pie. But when I received my order, I understood when I found myself looking at what was essentially nearly a quarter of a pie. LOL! I came by myself but will be back many times, bringing others as they are available. Oh my goodness is all I can say. Just try it for yourself. Oh, if you are vegetarian like me, you will STILL eat well. Their sides/veggie plate is DELICIOUS.

Food is absolutely Amazing!!! Spend one week in town for a baseball tournament and this is hands down the best place we ate. Service was great and everything from our Entree to the peach cobbler are 10/10….. definitely would recommend.
FYI- late night found out our credit card was left behind and owner herself messaged me from Google chat and took the time out of her night to meet me after hours.

BEST Shrimp and Grits Ive had in a long time, the cornbread? OUT OF THIS WORLD, delicious, soft, freshly baked. The atmosphere is so lovely, five star fine dining establishment, perfect place for an intimate lunch or dinner. This place is a hidden gem, definitely recommend.

Oh. My. Goodness. This was such a wonderful experience. We walked in and were warmly greeted by Leah, our server, with a smile, seating my date and I at the high table in the corner. She was very attentive to our needs, asking us about drinks in a timely manner and checking on us throughout the meal. We ordered 10 fried jumbo shrimp, 2 crab cakes, and 4 sides of sweet potato soufflé, which all three of us laughed about throughout our stay. The breading on the shrimp was thin and crunchy with such flavor that my date and I couldn’t believe. The crab cakes were made with real crab meat and mostly crab meat. We were not skimped with breading. There were crab chunks, and the garlic butter sauce was absolutely delectable. Such a wonderful pairing. The sweet potato soufflé was rich with brown sugar and cinnamon but delicate enough to eat as desert without becoming too stuffed. The meal was reasonably priced for the service, speediness of delivery, and decadent edibles. I am absolutely floored by this establishment and will be coming again.

Yay! Acworth has comfort food made with love! L. Marie's sits on main street. You get welcoming staff, black napkin ambiance and tasty food as if your favorite Aunt or Uncle was cooking for you. What a treat! Thanks for the great first impression. Looking forward to trying this place again. Definitely will be a local favorite, but would encourage anyone to come try even if it was a drive. Yummy!

I was there with a group of friends this weekend. We hadn't been there since they moved locations. We were seated immediately. It's a very nice, quiet atmosphere. Our server was very attentive. Had the catfish with sweet potato souffle and mac and cheese...delicious!

Love this place! Great food and even a greater atmosphere; especially when KAMP is in town the 2nd Saturday of each month. Thank goodness we now have the option not to travel downtown Atlanta to City Winery. Love everything local.

Small, quaint place. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The food choices are good. I would definitely recommend the homemade desserts. Definitely a place to come for deserts!

Perfect atmosphere for a relaxing meal at the end of a busy week. We started with fried green tomatoes which were absolute bliss. The crab cakes were so delicious, it was almost impossible to take a bite without doing a little celebration dance. Literally the best crab cakes I've had... and I've had crab cakes in Chesapeake Bay made with fresh caught crabs straight from the water. Hubs also got a sangria and said it was amazing. Love this place!

We had the pleasure of dining at L. Marie’s and I must say that I was impressed! It’s a quaint little restaurant that can easily be overlooked, but a gem worth seeking out. We went with out of town guests and wanted some good southern food. We started with the fried green tomatoes (pretty much the best I’ve had in the area) and fish bites. They don’t have a full bar, but the wine and sangria were great. For mains my aunt said that the crab stuffed catfish was delicious and my wife’s grilled salmon was cooked perfectly. The fried seafood platter was also a hit with my uncle. I had the ribeye steak and it was better than I’ve had in some high end steak houses. The sides were also great and complemented the dishes well. The server was obviously learning, but she was very sweet and took care of us well. I highly recommend L. Marie’s for anyone looking for delicious southern comfort food. We like supporting local businesses and will definitely be back!!

One of the best places around! Great food and great people, my husband and I have tried almost everything on the menu and its all been phenomenal! If you're in the area or live around here go support your local business and get some good food!

The service and food was delicious!! We had Salmon with Sweet Potato souffle and Squash Casserole. The other orders were fried chicken cooked to perfection with Blackeyed peas, Squash casserole...and Mac & Cheese oh my goodness delicious! Lastly the homemade Strawberry Cheesecake!! The food and staff was Amazing!! We can't wait to go back!

I always order the crab cake plate w/ 5pcs of shrimp w/ my 2 sides. This place is by far y her best soul food spot in acworth, ga. A MUST try. Everything is made to order and always cooked to perfection

The staff is super friendly, and the owner is incredibly sweet. Used to dine here frequently with guests, so I have eaten quite a bit off of the menu such as the Gator Bites, Squash Medley, and the chicken baked instead of fried...These particular photos are of the Fried Chicken, Sweet Potato Soufflé and Black-Eyed Peas with Rice. YUM! Nice sized portions and seasoned well. The Soufflé is a nice addition to when wanting dessert but also know I'm too full to have both. Entrées come with a side piece of cornbread that crumbles beautifully over, welp...anything! 😋.

They also have live jazz on the weekends, making it a fun date spot.

Solid 5 stars!! My husband and I went tonight for a date night and it was amazing!! I love southern style food especially being born and raised here. The chicken was delicious. The hubby had the ox tail and said it was wonderful. The greens were the best he has had!!! The bread pudding was as good as it gets. Can’t go wrong with eating here!!!!
