We used the Magnolia House for a birthday celebration. The planning support was attentive, professional, and accommodating. The catered food was delicious. The staff was helpful yet not overbearing.
The house decor was so vibrant and bright that limited decorations were needed. Would highly recommend using this space and hope to host another gathering there in the future.

I visited for brunch on my birthday this weekend and it was AMAZING!!

The Staff and Chef are wonderful. They were very attentive, the quality of food is above most restaurants in town. You will not be disappointed with anything on the menu.

The ambience of the place is beautiful and well designed. It is a great place for parties or events.

This is a historic landmark, one of only a few surviving Green locations. "Greenbook" you may ask? Go to the website or look up greenbook online. These locations fed and have shelter to African American travelers in the Jim Crow South for decades.

Today's Magnolia House still feeds and gives shelter to all. As for the food. We met on a lazy GHOE Sunday morning for brunch after a very eventful weekend.

We were smoking the first seated for 10am brunch I believe. We shared the roasted sweet potato and beets which had caramelized onions ghost cheese and spinach. It was amazing and I will try to duplicate. Fried green tomatoes were also tasty. The show stopper was the oxtail and grits. The grits were excellent and super creamy. The oxtail were very messy, not super fatty and we're very well cooked. Just excellent.

The atmosphere was great and service was attentive, even with a trainee always in tow.

This should be on your must do in Greensboro. The food is amazing and well worth waiting for. The servers were sweet. Everyone had terrific hospitality. I am so glad this has been so beautifully restored. A true Greensboro gem.

I surprised my husband with an 8th year Anniversary brunch! It was amazing!Chef Yancey made us the chicken and waffles with berry compote and the catfish, shrimp and grits. They surprised us with a hand made caramel and fudge cakefabulousness that's what I'm calling it lol. I'm a local and get to experience this as many times as I want. Next is the Inn. We are definitely staying for sure.

Came here for brunch and it was an unforgettable experience! The decor, the atmosphere, the bubbly shining star server Rakaya, the chicken and waffles. Everything was perfection. Highly recommend!

I did not stay in the hotel, however the property appears to be very well kept. I truly enjoyed a superb meal in the restaurant.

As terminator says... I WILL BE BACK...

I really enjoyed this quaint, stylish and professional bed n breakfast. The place is professionally designed and it makes all the difference. No grandma quilts or hand-me-downs here. Stylish, posh , professional but with character, charisma and history.

I stayed in the Baldwin room. The only complaint is no full length mirror or large mirrors in the room and the iPhone touch charger alarm clock duo didn't seem to work. I'm sure it will be fixed and a mirror added as soon as management reads this because that's how on top of it and professional the staff is.

Pro tip- let the hot water run for your shower and make your self a cup of hot tea from their help yourself hot tea bar. Then relax into one of the luxurious robes after your shower and enjoy your tea in the lounge overlooking the magnolia trees.

Support this place at every chance you get- this experience beats a corporate hotel stay any day in my {green} book!

I had family to visit from Connecticut and Maryland! This made the top list of restaurants.

The waitress was awesome and the owner and chef came to the the table to make sure that we were enjoying ourselves. The food was delicious!

I highly recommend for visiting family and friends!

My friend and I just celebrated her birthday by having brunch here and it was amazing! She had the shrimp and grits, I had the salmon salad, and we both enjoyed a delectable hibiscus margarita. We also split a piece of tres leches cake—also delicious. A fantastic brunch, great service, and a beautiful setting steeped in history. What more could you ask?

Ate here 1/26/23 . Wonderfully restored historic house where Black Americans could stay in segregated America. Listed in the Green Book. Place is in transition but our dinners of salmon, Ragu, and shrimp/catfish grits were delicious. Presentation was nice and service great. Wine, craft beer, and cocktails available. Tour of home fascinating. Rooms nicely furnished. We did not stay here.

The food is very good, just a little pricy for the serving sizes. We were there for Sunday brunch. I highly recommend the fish, shrimp, and grits! I do wish they offered more traditional breakfast fare like waffles, eggs, toast, hashbrowns, etc.

The house has been beautifully restored and is a lovely place for brunch with friends.

And they have GREAT homemade desserts.

Had dinner with several friends which allowed us to sample many of the items on the menu. Everything was delicious and plentiful.
Beautiful decor, and Nicole, the team member assisting our table, took the experience to the next level.
Look forward to a return visit to enjoy the brunch menu.

Absolutely gorgeous interior with a mixture of art, small interior design features, as well as blurbs on all of the history associated with the hotel and the city of Greensboro. It has fantastic live jazz music for Sunday brunch as well as some of the best southern comfort food I have ever had!
I would give it a sixth star if I could!
